Twice now we have tried to buy baseball pants from here. In December we were told that they were in a box in the stock room and he didn't have access to them. Today he told us to hold on while he asked the manager where they were (the manager mind you was standing there with 3 other workers just talking). The manager tells him "just tell them we don't have any". So he comes back and tells us that they aren't on the floor yet... what kind of sporting goods store acts like this. This is why stores are losing business. They can't even be bothered to go into the stock room to grab them. Tried to buy local, TWICE, ended up buying on Amazon. Will NEVER shop there again. 1/10. A one star rating for this place? That's pretty cold. Stayed in town for a couple of nights and needed a few items. Big 5 is a fairly consistent chain and they had everything I needed and at reasonable prices. No complaints at all. I'd probably just give this place 3 or 4 stars since it's better than OK but not mind blowing epic...... but the extra star is to offset the excessively negative (IMO) previous review. This store is in a pretty run down mall. They seem to be the anchor store and it's a rather depressing looking area. The rest of LaGrande seems to be mostly vibrant so I don't know what's going on at this location. read more

So's I goes in this joint a couple times just ta look around. It's ok right, but I'm not impressed. I used to fight a little. I still do. I goes back to buy a speed bag platform one afternoon on my way home couple weeks back so's in case I wants ta hit something it's not you .. and for fun. They got one advertised for sale. The dufus who is gonna show me one can't find it, says he saw one but he doesn't know where it is and is look'in for it where it cannot possibly fit. Finally he figures out they ain't got it. I planned to pick one up in Boise but forgot about it. Did go in the Walla Walla Big Five store, no joy there either. Stops back in the Big Five last week since they still advertise them for sale. Yep, you guessed it .. they are happy to order it cause they ain't got one in the joint. Amazon is happy to deliver most anything you order and bring it to your crib if you want to order something. Yas doesn't have to waste another trip. If you ain't got it .. it's damn hard to sell it isn't it? I won't be going back. Maybe they'll go out of business and Home Depot or something useful will rent that space. read more

Joke, employees not social distancing, as soon as I walk in asked to leave because my 7year old didn't have a mask. I asked if they had one, response was no...but you can buy one. Employees more interested in mandating their political view without following their own requirements by not social distancing and coming up within 2-3 feet of my unmasked 7 year old. I have been a long term customer who will now start shopping elsewhere. Yes, I was wearing a mask, and many other stores providing if you forgot one. Hypocrisy eyes wide open!!! read more
