First and foremost, a shout out to Charles. He was just the best. Spotted us strangers from Tennessee noticing they were not open yet, but half chased us down to open the door early. Thrown into the bargain? Just a fantastic little comic bookstore with a nice selection of vintage and new graphic novels and poster memorabilia. Prices were actually very good considering the market. There was an amazing selection of comics and the store was super well kept + clean! The workers were very sweet and helpful in helping find any kind of comic I needed, and the store seems well stocked in terms of new comics even for a more niche market. This is one of our mandatory stops for every trip to Santa Fe. My husband and I both like graphic novels, and I like graphic biographies. Big Adventure always has something we haven't read before. I just need to learn to pack fewer clothes so there's more room for books going home. And I got some good dish on one of my favorite comics from the in-the-know owner. read more

Small comic book store and it's the only one in town! We came here for free comic book day and grabbed a couple of books. Took a look around and they seemed to have a good selection of trades and current books. It was clean and organized and quite nice. read more

Formerly known as True Believer's Comics, this retail establishment has a new name and a new owner. The location is awesome (right next to Whole Foods and 4 Star Tattoo), and now is venturing into the whole gaming thing, especially Magic the Gathering... If you are a frequent buyer (like myself) and establish a pull-list, you can get a decent discount on your weekly comic book buys. It's very relaxed and all the employees are comic book fans and not just retail sales people, so you can ask questions and get knowledgeable answers. Oh, and if you are parched, they also now sell soft drinks because shopping for comic books is hard work! read more

Came in looking for some new reads and found some! Yay!! I love the fact I could go in and not feel that judgement of "Oh..your in for-what?" or an uncomfortable feeling. I'm happy that Santa Fe has a comic store. I enjoy this new location instead of their other one due to easy accessibility. You don't have to try to cross traffic in a busy area however during peak hours Sanbusco can be difficult to find parking. Though with many businesses moving that has lessened. This place is also a great stop if you are waiting for the train or having a day trip to Santa Fe. They have most of the popular comics and some manga. They also have used comics at a discount if you are starting out and unsure of which type of comic you are into. read more

We loved this place. We always try to stop in and support local comic businesses wherever we go. This store was easily organized (by alphabet), had a nice mixture of the latest releases along with lots of shelves filled with bound volumes of earlier releases. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and helped with suggestions for stuff we hadn't read before. Look forward to visiting again our next time in town. read more

I'm not a fan of comic books or anime- so WHY AM I HERE? I'm the parent of someone who's into comic books and anime. So FOR PARENTS-- there's a table to sit at which is nice! AND centipede and GALAGA!! It's old school! If that's not your thing then you can sit on a chair (provided) at the table (provided) and write reviews of the quant store you took your 14 year old daughter and NOT ONCE was there a complaint! She even smiled when she found Manga ( she'd be so proud of me speaking her language)!! Parents.... You know how it goes-- if your 14 yo is happy- your happy. Let me start with admitting I have a bit of a bias towards this comics and games store. This is because I am good friends with the current owner, whom I watched work is way up from employee to give it a new name. He works endlessly, and that shows every day. Kevin impresses me with his ability to cultivate an environment where good people meet others like themselves. I had forgotten how to play magic the Gathering when I went to an event one Friday night, and no one in there was less than eager to remind me of the rules. I get recommendations for graphic novels such as Kill Shakespeare by both employees and other customers. This place has grown both physically (added space) and in every other way. We love to go there. It has a great selection of graphic novels and Magic cards. I highly recommend it. Parking may be an issue, but it is a nice walk from the Violet Crown cinemas. Plus, you can get free stuff by showing your movie tickets. read more

I stopped in to check out this store, and ended up buying a new 52 Flash figure. It was marked $17.99, but when I got home I noticed they charged me $24.99 No biggie, I figure they will take care of it. So I call them, and they acted as if I was trying to rip THEM off. The guy that answered the phone could only muster up a faint "I don't know." All I was really looking for was maybe a store credit, as I was planning on picking up several more items. I highly recommend checking your receipt before you leave, as they had no interest at all in making it right. Keep my $7 Big Adventure Comics, you obviously need it more than I do. read more

Throughout venturing comic books in Albuquerque, some of them are months behind, this is the only place that really keeps track on everything! Up to date with everything! Big Adventure Comics (formerly True Believers, under a previous, less awesome owner) is a comic book store that has a brilliant selection of comic books and graphic novels, each for a reasonable price. Their selection is restocked relatively regularly. Big Adventure also sells Magic the Gathering cards from the three most recent expansions (Standard). The employees are big fans of comic books and Magic, so feel free to ask them any sort of question. They're very relaxed and very cool, the sort of people you want to talk to. This comic shop is well organized and has a great abundance and selection of comic books, graphic novels, and all things nerdy, but the thing that really blew me away about this amazing, local-owned shop was the phenomenal customer service. The first time I went there, I had just been introduced to the comic book trend and didn't now much about stuff like rare issues, variant covers, and other important things vital to comic book shopping. I didn't even have to ask for assistance, as the clerk came up to me and introduced me to everything about the comics industry and then some and he even recommended some comics. The greatest thing about the staff is that they are comic book fans and not just bored college students, so you can have a intelligent conversation about comics with them. This is number one on my New Mexico comic shops hit list, and I think that it is the best comic store I've been to yet. read more

i like big adventure but the owner is very rude and does not care about the costumer very much, unless you're buying a comic book or you're over 17. anyone whom is young will be brushed off and sort of ignored the only reason i give it any stars is because of the other staff like Eduardo he is very hospitable and cares about the customers. read more
