Anyone who gives their Philly Cheese steak sub over 1 star has never had a real Philly cheese steak! This sub is terrible in comparison, nothing like the real thing. Some kind of sauce that's foreign and nothing close to what it should be. Don't order this sub unless you're the typical Spfd. diner that's never been out of SW MO. to know what real food is. read more

Meatball sub is sooooo very good. You have to try his food!! Have tried other subs and they are delicious as well.

The last time we were there the good was below par. The ham sub I got was overloaded with mayonnaise. The other thing we got was a chicken salad and the lettuce was very weepy and just not fresh. Won't go there again. read more

Bi Al's is a cool little sub shop in Nixa on Main Street. Maybe Jason Bourne used to eat here. Nixa is his hometown. The cheesesteak is ok here. It's really hard to even find a real cheesesteak in southwest Missouri read more

Subs and Crab are both amazing! They prices are decently lower than Joe's Crab Shack in Branson, however they are a tiny bit high for snow crab. The customer service there is great, Brittany is an amazing soul to love! The atmosphere is nice and quiet, a little music wouldn't hurt to listen to though!! read more

I love this place! I think Nixa needed a good local sandwich place. I've only had their subs, but I'm satisfied every time. I'm usually not into cold sandwiches as much as toasted ones, but I really like these. I usually get the poppa size, and it's plenty of food. They have the momma size which is 1/2 of the poppa. I've had the chicken salad before and it's nice and refreshing. I've also had roast beef something or other that was great. I love the bread. It's lightly chewy but in a good way! I know they serve smoothies and pizza and other items now too. Next time I'll try one of those. Service is always super friendly, and I love how involved in the community Al is! But for now, if you haven't tried their sandwiches, you must! read more

This may be the most underrated joint around. The bread on their sandwiches is world-class. They have an impressive menu offering of deli style sub sandwiches that rival the best in the business. They also make an outstanding hamburger. Do not expect a round bun because they put it on their amazing French style bread. They are traditionally made on a bit of onions and served up juicy at hot to order. It reminds me of an Oklahoma burger or a smash burger, but this thing seems to have some additional spices that make it pop. Many people do not realize that big Al's owns the right to sell the dole pineapple whip. That's the stuff at Disney. This is the only place around here that you can get it, and it's worth the drive. Big Al, being the entrepreneur that he is, has also added the Crabshack business to the Nixa location. I must admit, it's not a fancy joint, but it may be the best crab and shrimp meal. I have ever eaten at any price. I also feel good about supporting big Al because he has a big supporter of the community, the schools, and our first responders. there is even a community donation box and a code program on his property. I just think it's extra special supporting local businesses, and this one gets it right. read more

This is a nice mom and pop sandwich shop in Nixa. They have a good selection of sub sandwich options and they also have pizza, cheesesteaks, burgers, and spuds (Mon-Fri only). They can make smoothies and offer ice cream options as well. We stopped in for lunch. I had the mama portion of the Big A sandwich and my husband got the mama portion of The Gobbler. Both sandwiches were decent deli meat sandwiches with fresh lettuce and banana peppers. I thought my sandwich was decent for the price. I would like to try on of their spuds, cheese burger, or spuds sometime in the future. Overall I would give this place a 3.5 because I love the decor and concept but have had better sub sandwiches elsewhere in the surrounding area. read more

Tried to go to Big Al's Subs twice. Once at the original location at 2:00pm. I called, not open. I'm told "These hours work for us". Not every one gets to have lunch at noon. I was looking to buy lunch for a ten person shop. Tried to go today: 8/17 about 6:45pm: "Sorry we are closed we ran out of bread". A sub shop that ran out of bread? Really? Me, any one in my family or any one I am associated with will never go there/go there again. Wanna know why businesses fail? Right here is a classic example. Also I noticed if you give a less then stellar review or write something negative on their FB it gets deleted and never gets posted. read more

I tried this place last week for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Usually small, "off the beaten path" types of places are really good, but this one surely exceeded expectations. Subs are a pretty straightforward thing to make as you've got bread, meat (or no meat), cheese, veggies, and sauce. This makes most places that sell subs sort of blend together in my mind, especially places like subway and Jimmy Johns; which are good in their own right, but nothing to really get excited about. Big Al's sets the precedent for what a good, home-made sandwhch should taste like. The bread is thick, but amazingly soft (you can squish it down from almost 3 inches thick to almost 1 inch thick, it's that soft). The sub sauce is spot on with having an Italian vinegar type of zesty yummy taste to it. Another thing I was surprised at is that you can actually taste ALL of the ingredients on this sandwich. I could taste the bread, cheese, all three meats and the veggies individually. I've had sandwiches at other places that I have had to double check to make sure they put what I asked for on it because all the stuff sort of blended together into one flavour (in my mind this means the other places aren't using fresh ingredients and this is why the flavours don't stand out). The only negative thing is that they are cash only, and their hours are short. But, this is only a negative thing because that means I can't just go there and gorge myself whenever I want, which is probably a good thing for my weight (in the end). Prices are great. For $6 you get bigger sandwich than any chain sub place will sell you, and it tastes better to boot. Next time you're in Nixa during lunch hours, stop and try this place. read more

Subs were good. The bread is very good. Pickle was a little sad. A "deli" shop should have better pickles. And the smoothies were not the greatest. In fact, my wife and I both got one but didn't even drink them. Overall, I would go back for the subs. read more

Bad subs and donuts. Don't waste your money. The subs literally a thin slice of meat. And I got the triple play a 3 meat sub. I think one slice of Oscar Meyer bologna was more than the 3 on my sandwich. And the donuts left a greasy film in your mouth. read more
