Absolutely awful service and food. Every server in the place seemed angry to be there and when we finally got our food it looked like it had been just slopped down on the plates. The food wasn't good either. The whole experience was just gross. Save yourself the headache and head to the Vintage Cafe instead. BBB is the only breakfast place where I want to eat. Their food is amazing. I had the Old School wrap with lime crema. It is so good. They also have Red-Eye gravy. Our waitress, Diamond, was fabulous! The food was good. French fries were perfect - crispy on the outside. They have nice seating under a covered porch and more seating inside. It is a little loud inside. There was a wait but it was worth it! They work as a team so you are served promptly and refills were offered when you got low on drinks. Here's the thing. When you FINALLY get sat & when the food FINALLY comes, it's delicious. But here's the problem with the BBB in Montgomery, the hostess is not friendly, the server (we had) was slow and the kitchen is borderline lethargic. DISCLAIMER: We knew coming on Father's Day we'd probably have to wait a bit. We knew that coming in. We were prepared. We waited about 45 minutes to sit at a table outside that was open for 40 of the minutes we waited. Fine. Then we ordered the food, drinks, 2 appetizers (they asked if we wanted them first, we said yes) all at once. There were 8 of us (2 we're kids). 29 minutes later after we'd asked, 2 of us got food. The first person who'd ordered and the last person that ordered, neither of which were the kids. The two of us were finished before the next two people's food arrived (the oldest kid got food this time). Then 5 minutes later everyone else's food arrived. We've basically been either waiting or here for TWO HOURS No manager table visit to apologize, just our server explaining the situation (very comically poorly). NOW the waitress in the section next to us did pretty well for us and one of her 2-top tables waited even longer to get food (but she was apologetic). Of course she was also the one who kept our drinks full, despite the fact she wasn't our server. The food is 5 Stars. The service was 1 Star. The hostess was 1 Star. Overall 3 Stars is a little high, but the food (even though several order things had errors) was GREAT. PS. I had really mixed feelings about this place, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The French toast was a 10/10--easily the best part of the meal. It was perfectly crispy, super flavorful, and not overly sweet or salty. Everything about it was spot on. The fruit, syrup, and butter all complemented it really well. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't hold up. The eggs were cooked properly but were extremely salty to the point I couldn't eat them. The chicken and pork sausage didn't taste good and was very pink on the inside--so much so that I couldn't tell if it was undercooked, which made me uncomfortable eating it. The grits were decent, though a bit heavy on pepper, and the biscuit was okay but also overly salty. The wait time for a table was honestly excessive, and it felt a bit disorganized. It seemed like they might still be figuring out their flow when it comes to seating and managing guests. That said, my waitress was amazing--super kind, friendly, and very apologetic about the food issues, which I really appreciated. Just a heads up: even though I barely ate most of the meal, nothing was taken off the bill. Not necessarily expected, but something to be aware of. Our wait time was between 30 to 45 minutes but we were seated after 20 minutes. The hostess was awesome. After she seated us, she explained they only sit a certain amount of patrons to keep from overloading the chef. Our waiter, Taylor, was super friendly and attentive. The cappuccino was bitter and not sweet like I'm accustomed to so I added cream and sugar that made it perfect. The orange juice was fresh and delicious. Im not a fan of the chicken and pork sausage; the casing was too tough. My pancake was cold but the eggs and sausage was hot. Overall, it was a nice breakfast and I will come again. Next time. This place was fantastic! I love it when my city supports new businesses, and the Cloverdale and surrounding community has truly embraced this spot. The staff was incredibly welcoming, making it feel just like home. I ordered the pancakes, which are about the size of the plate! Small gnat like insects flying around. Service was a little slow despite there not seeming to be a high volume timeframe.

Not sure if they were having an off day or what but service was not great and when we got our food over an hour and a half after we ordered it was freezing cold. So much so that my grits were completely solid. My boyfriend ordered the oyster plate and it was cold and dried out. I asked the waiter how long our food had been sitting in the window because we seen people who had gotten there and ordered way after we did get their food before we did, and she replied "oh I don't know". They admitted to seeing my boyfriend's food in the window and not been ran. We paid for our drinks and they offered a gift card but never came back lol so we just left. We were there for 2.5 hours in total and never even got to eat. Disappointed especially after we were referred to eat here from another franchise owner in Vestavia. I'm sitting at bar Big Bad Breakfast in Montgomery. Food is about the same as my place in Homewood. The service is abismal, people are waiting and no one is helping them. I'm at the bar, the hostess just asked me if I needed anything, I told her I'd like more coffee. She nodded her head and then just walked off in a fog. She's done that to me twice and to others. The music is so obnoxiously loud that you can't hear the server, the hostess or your dining partner. Despite many servers just hanging around visiting with each other, the wait when we arrived at 12:45 was 45 mins for a table. Plenty of open tables so must be short handed in kitchen. Hostess never smiled, rested her head on the hostess stand like she was hung over or ready to barf. Nice looking place but atmosphere ruins the experience.
