Came here because a friend of mine recommended this place. Henry helped me out. My car had a small coolant leak, which I showed to the guys and they told me to leave the car so they could inspect it further. About 4 or 5 hours later, they called me to let me know the car was fixed, much to my surprise! I showed up a little while after to pick my car up and the guys had replaced a plastic connector which attached a hose to the engine. I'm no mechanic, which is why I bring my car to professionals. Shiny new part installed and they charged me 70 dollars. I was expecting a charge closer to $140 because that's what I've payed other mechanics for similar issues on a similar car, so this was also a surprise. A month later and all is good. I'll need to have the guys work on my car at least once more before I decide to give that 5th star. Great work Big Boys! read more

Took my car in on 03/24/23 to get my brakes and rotors done, dropped off my car working perfectly fine(have footage on my dashcam) then when i went to go pick up my car it comes to find out the workers snapped my subwoofer wires and i had to get it rewired again....they shouldn't have even been in my trunk if they were only supposed to do a brake and rotor change. so i suggest to choose a more trusted shop read more

This place is awesome!! I came in to get new tires because my prius was getting a little bumpy on the roads because of my small low profile tires. Andy was extremely knowledgable and honest in helping me find inexpensive but good slightly bigger tires so my ride could be a bit smoother for the people I drive for lyft. They always had the best price on tires and great customer service, but one day, one of the managers there tried to gouge me for a couple of tires. I started shopping around and saw an ad on Craigslist for some cheap tires. Big Boy's Tires is owned by Andy and he know his tires. He'll be honest and upfront with you. If you don't need new tires, he'll tell you. If you're tires have uneven wear, he'll tell you why. If you're short on cash, he'll sell you some used tires. If you want some bling bling tires, he'll order them for you. If you want some cheaper tires, he'll probably have them in stock. No hardsell here. Ever go to a place to fix a flat? 90% of the time someone will tell you it can't be fixed and you have to buy a new tire. Not at Big Boy's. Andy is a smart and honest guy. In fact, they guy has a degree in Computer Sciences from UC Irvine! I kid you not! The guys just loves his tires and being his own boss. I forgot to mention, Andy does brakes cheaper than anybody. I was looking on Craigslist for used tires and I saw an ad from Big Boy's Tires for a great deal on two new tires in the same price range, so I texted them to see if they still had them and they did. With the economy nowadays, it's always smart to do your research before splurging your hard earned cash. Called numerous tire shops locally and within reasonable distance from my place in SFV. Some tireshops offer lower prices for their tires but if you factor in mounting and balancing , you'll learn that it's not really a good deal at all. But hey, I understand that it is business and the shop needs to earn also. Anyway, took a risk with this shop after seeing a good deal on a set of tires for my van on Craigslist. Big Boy's has the lowest out the door price which includes mounting and balancing; lower than Costco and other shops offering tires in Craigslist. I had to travel 25 miles one way just to see Andy, the owner. I almost got lost as I'm not familiar with the area. His shop is inside a repair shop in Valley Blvd. near Cal State LA. Thank goodness for GPS and the internet. His shop has no signboard but when you see Big Boy's Auto Repair, that is the place. Andy owns the tire area of the shop. The other sections are automotive and electrical repair. I was scratching my eyes when I saw the place as I thought that I have been duped and that the owner might only be selling used tires. Fortunately, when Andy met me, he showed the new set of tires that he's going to install in my van. Checked the tires, true enough, they are brand new with stickers and with the date of manufacture of 2012. Now if you are picky on the place, a place that has an airconditioned lounge and waiting room with TV, this is not the place for you but if you want to get a good deal and be in a reliable tire shop, this is the place. His is not a showroom quality shop and only contains the equipment needed for tires, he has a tire installer, a balancer, stock of brand new tires of popular sizes and some chairs to sit on which I didn't use as I'm the type of guy who like to see what people are doing with my cars. He doesn't have a lift, he uses a jack and a wrench to manually install the tires. Andy is very helpful, accommodating and very knowledgeable about tires. He would give recommendations at the same time admit also his shortcomings. Really an honest individual. He has no staff, and just installed the tires by himself. Took an hour to change and install 4 tires in my van. When I drove home, I was amazed of the now smooth ride from having a new set of tires. I was also happy for getting a good deal. Now a month later, my father approached me for a reliable tire shop as he needs a new set of tires for his Camry. Called numerous tire shops and of course called Andy of Big Boy's. Surprisingly, he had the lowest price of that tire size and brand out the door. Went back to Big Boy's and was never again disappointed. One note is that we called him and told him that my father will be only available to see him at around 7 PM. I was surprised that he obliged, not all shops do that. He waited for us and installed 4 new tires.My father was also impressed and told me that he'll now go with Andy with his tire needs. Could have given him 5 stars easily based on the tire deal and service but you also have to factor in some things: He only accepts cash. His shop is what it is with no bells and whistles, just a straight tire shop.This actually makes the costs low as he doesn't have much overhead. If you are looking for a new set of tires, do your research first then call around, most of the time it goes down to pricing but with Big Boy's you'll get competitive prices and good customer service. This place is GREAT! Found my car with a flat tire in nearby Cal State LA. I immediately worried about how expensive it was going to be. Luckily, Yelp steered me the right way! I drove to Big Boy's Tires and was greeted by the very helpful Andy. He looked at my tire and told me he would figure out the damage. I thought this guy was definitely going to come back and say I needed a new tire. Thankfully Andy came back and told me it was a patch job! And a cheap one!
