BE WARNED - CROOKS AHEAD Ryan Michaels, one of the owners at the Temple Comet Cleaners, is a crook. His cleaners tore my shirt. He tried to blame it on poor craftmenship of the shirt. The shirt was a high end dress shirt that cost me over $100. It had been dry cleaned at the Waco Comet Cleaners at least five times before with no issues. Temple Comet Cleaner destroyed it and he tried to blame everything on it from dry rot to the manufacture of the shirt. It was not poorly crafted. After some strong words. he agreed to pay me $75 for the shirt. He wrote me a check. I tried to deposit it and the SOB had canceled it. Ryan Michaels is a CROOK. Temple Comet Cleaners are crooks. He said this happens a few times a week. If you want to gamble with your clothes take them to Temple Comet Cleaners. Be warned, they will make up an excuse as to why the garment was destroyed, and why it was your fault or the poor quality of the garment. read more

I asked for extra heavy starch on my jeans, but I definitely didn't get that...I don't think they even starched them. They originally charged me $21 for 3 pieces...but I got a discount for working at Scott & White so it came out to about $18. Still expensive compared to other places I've tried in Temple. read more

I used Comet Cleaners for years until they sold (changed management?). I asked for ALL garments to be dry cleaned and I paid for ALL garments to be dry cleaned. They repeatedly crushed (broke) buttons on ALL my $100 shirts. They agreed to replace the buttons. I picked up the repaired shirts one week later. The $100 shirts had somewhat matched buttons and many of the buttons that should have been fastened with black thread were fastened with white thread. This place is a joke. Save your time, money, garments by going someplace else. read more

I was leaving town and forgot about a coffee stain on a jacket I needed. I took it by comet cleaners and they were very friendly and helpful. I didn't have enough time for a complete dry cleaning, but they removed a large coffee stain on my winter jacket for me while I was there. The did a great and thorough job and helped me out when I was in a bind! read more

Wow, we were in a bind!! We only had a couple of hours until my daughter had to leave for Chicago and a big cup of coffee was spilled on her coat. We went to comet cleaners and even though he did not have enough time to dry clean her coat he was able and willing to get the coffee stains out!! He was such a like saver. I was very impressed with Comet in Temple. The service was convenient and exactly what I needed. Received my dry cleaning the next day and was very pleased by the results. Damaged my coat I took to them. Owner was rude and refused to replace it...simple as that

I am done with this place. They got some kind of grease spot on one of my shirts, failed to properly press 2 others, agreed to run them all back through - and the grease spot remained. The older lady manning the register wanted to redo the damaged shirt a second time, but I left instead with all 3 shirts, and told her I'd be back to discuss compensation with the owner Ryan. In the meantime, I took the shirt to Valet Cleaners in Temple and the dry cleaning was not only done perfectly but the spot is gone. I don't think Comet Cleaners even did anything the second time. I am thinking of demanding my $10 back from Comet for the first attempt to clean the shirts. I had to pay $4.60 to have the soiled shirt re-done at Valet but it was SO worth it. I agree with another reviewer who said these folks at Comet are crooks. Ryan promised to make good but I haven't been back to test this because Valet fixed it for me, plus I don't trust him after reading their reviews. If you're smart, you will take your clothes to Valet Cleaners instead, and avoid Comet in Temple like the plague!! They want your money that's all, and will give you a slipshod "cleaning" in return. Avoid, avoid, avoid folks! You get what you pay for. read more
