These young people working here don't have the will of helping. While asking about the car washes…read moreprogram the guy kept saying " we just sell them and I just work here ". When I walked in they were just hanging on the other side of the counter, I had to wait until they finished their personal conversation, once they finished, he approached and you could tell he was just not willing to help. As soon as he told me " I don't know, I just work here" I told him , well, this is why I am asking you, then I just turned around and left. I just can say that this was a very poor customer service.

First, The customer service attitude and approach has improved but still has more room for…read moreimprovement. Second, when I come and if I have a large bill I have to turn away unless I purchase a large amount, or the most they can break is $20 and yes that is with a purchase. I have been living in this area for the past 8 years and really wished I would enjoy stopping there. My experience: One time under a different manager I could tell I was being judged, I would be followed in the store and given a bad attitude/approach. It wasn't until I struck up a conversation with the manager and he asked where I worked and I informed him the government then his whole approach changed. That is not how it should be... He even asked if he could use me as a reference and if a job opened if I would let him know, Fast forward and I'm still looked at weirdly because I wear a mask, sometimes shades to protect my eyes and no I don't dress up in fancy clothes, Once time I brought in my 12-16 ounce bottle and filled it with ice and was told there was a fee for the ice, I asked the supervisor if the policy changed (customer doesn't have to pay if they bring their own container) and she said no, it was just that their machine keeps breaking and people bring too many cups to fill at once. I agree if you come with more than two cups, you should purchase ice due to the amount but I had one cup, and I maybe come one to two times every two weeks, It's just sad, I really try to avoid going to Speedway in general. I can't speak for everyone or say that happens to everyone I can only speak from my personal experience. Good luck community,

Earlier this afternoon, I stopped at the Marathon gas station on the corner of Winnetka and 36th…read moreAve in New Hope, MN and had an experience with a nasty employee. At the pump, I looked to see if there was a sticker saying you had to prepay (cash) before pumping. There was none. I lifted the nozzle, chose Pay Inside and the grade of gas I wanted. The screen said, "Waiting for Cashier Approval". I waited and waited and waited and waited. Suddenly a large African American man came around the corner of my truck and yelled, "What's going on over here?!!" I noted the screen said waiting for approval and I was waiting for that to happen. He yelled, "You have to put your card in the reader!" I told him I was paying in cash. He yelled, "You have to push "Pay Inside". I told him I already did that. Then he yelled, "You have to pay inside first before you can pump!!!" I asked why there wasn't a sticker on the pump to indicate that to the customer (as I've seen such stickers on places who do have that requirement). He again yelled, "There are no pumps in the country where you can pump before paying cash. You always have to pay first!!!" (Calm down already). So I went in to pay in cash first and he continued on and on and on about how there are no pumps in the United States where you can pump before paying and how stupid was I to think so! I told him there certainly are stations where you can pump first and then go inside and pay. He called me a liar and asked me to show him such a place. I told him about another Marathon station in NE Mpls on Johnson Street where I buy gas frequently. I pump first, then go in and pay. And there are quite a few other places where I buy gas that do the same. He called me a liar again and again claimed there are no such gas stations in the United States. So it appears this employee is grossly misinformed and would rather argue with a customer and call customers liars than admit he is wrong or at least could be mistaken. Oh well, it's not like have to ever buy gas at his place again and I won't. Why would anybody subsidize this behavior? To be clear, I have no problem with paying cash first before pumping gas. But every place I've previously encountered that requires this has had a sticker on the pump so you know what to do. Since this pump did not (and I've pumped-first, paid-after at other Marathon stations), it came as a surprise to me when Mr. Yelling Employee came barreling around my truck lambasting me with his incorrect information about how all the gas pumps in the entire United States work. To the manager of this place, Mr. Yelling Employee desperately needs some intense customer service training. Or just fire him. He was the one ringing up customers at about 12:55 pm on 5-3-2025. He reflects very poorly on your business. I can only image the type of encounters other customers have had with this individual.

I always get good customer service and gas is usually cheapest in area. Today for example when I…read morewent inside after filling up the gentleman noticed I was not feeling well. Asked if I was okay and when I told him my ear infection was draining down throat making it sore, he said I'm sorry please help yourself to a cup of coffee on me. Maybe warm drink will help your throat. He had just made it fresh. I love coffee so I took him up on offer and said thank you. Whether or not it helps throat remains to be seen but he certainly made me feel better that he cared.
