Wow so I went to pick up the vehicle and the bill is now $877.00 holy Batman, I'm selling this vehicle anyway. He shows me the paperwork and tells me that that alternator cost him $411 that's what he had written in. I was taken back and I said no you're going to honor what you quoted me and pay only the 635 and that's it. He freaked out he was going on about him taking food off his table and stealing from him as he marches around the counter in a little Rambo outfit and tries to shame and blame me about the money. I had the credit card run through at 700.00 I threw him a bone just to get out. Wants 900.00 for a new dash I find a rebuild of mine for only 159.00 on the net now he is really pissed. 3-4 hours labor he says wow.I say no way see ya later. Now Jerry calls the cops saying in stealing from him Says many other things to them I will not repeat, And wants me arrested. I'm good because I have the credit card receipt. And I'm out of there. I told him I'll do my own dash and I did took all of 20 minutes to pull the dash and 30 minutes to button it up with the nice rebuilt dash from dash doctors. Looks great. So Jerry tried at least ten times to shame and guilt and blame me while I trying to get out of his shop. Said I wouldn't leave to the cops. Don't ever trust this guy with anything and only pay his quoted price if you go down that road with little Rambo. He wouldn't know how to honor his quote if it hit him in the face Jerry is a cheat, a lier, a little super scum bag that is great at shaming and blaming. Instead I brought it to Munich Motors, they fixed it for $1700 by taking it apart and sending the defective piece out to another company down south that works on them. The referred me to Frankie's towing due to it being the overall best value in the area, and because they also have a trusted relationship with them. They were able to get the vehicle repaired and now it starts and runs well! Overall I think what they charged for labor is fair for the market, and the quality of work seems adequate. The staff is friendly as well, so the only draw back is really that the entrance and waiting area feels a bit dirty and run down. If you need your car serviced in the area this is definitely a decent place to take it!

His car was in the shop from a hit and run. Suddenly, the minor repair I'd ignored for months became top priority, because I didn't want him needing to return to the Twin Cities immediately if he carpooled or spend a ton on a rental and still have to measure his stay to minimize the rental expenditure. I had an unexpectedly busy day yesterday, so once I was free today, I picked one of the best-rated Plymouth repair shops and grabbed my phone, expecting it to be the first of many calls, given recent experiences with fielding this exact repair for my car. Nope. John was not only truly warm, he was very considerate and informative in his questions before inviting me to bring my car in for a quick repair today, despite it being already 3:30 pm at that point, with the shop closing in an hour and a half. I got to the shop at 4 pm. Less than half an hour later, I was leaving with my car no longer clanking from a loose part. When ARVU took over the property, I very much looked forward to establishing a relationship with them. However, so far, they are nothing like Tom and the boys at Walt's. What should have been a $400+ repair blossomed into a $950 tab. Mostly it was because of a 'diagnosis' charge. Walt's used to charge the diagnosis if work was not performed, but waived it if work was performed. In this case, ARVU maintained the charge........and added a SECOND charge. Therefore, I was charged $172.50 TWICE. That's $350 not even counting the work. When I questioned it, no equivocation or negotiation. Then, when I wrote two emails with concern, NO answer back. Not cool. Not sure how everyone else feels about this, but I find it difficult to ever patronize them again.
