We made an unplanned visit to this beach and campground on Memorial Day after a boat mishap at a…read morenearby lake. We had planned to spend the day on the water with our son, his wife, and our grandsons, meeting in West Bend as a central point between our homes. While we were disappointed our boating plans fell through, we decided to pivot and make the most of the day. After searching for a good spot for a picnic, we came across Lake Lenwood Beach & Campground--and we're so glad we did. When we arrived, we were still a bit frazzled, but the owner (I believe her name was Mary) was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She guided us on where to park our boat and filled us in on everything the campground had to offer. We ended up having a wonderful time enjoying our picnic, playing on the playground, and relaxing at the beach with our grandsons. What started as a stressful situation turned into a really special day. We'll definitely be back!

A secluded county park not too many folks know about Yahr park is a nice place to take your family…read moreswimming or drop a fishing line. The park offers tiered parking and we always choose the closest possible Parking as there have been car break ins that occurred in the farthest lost when we've been here. Hopefully an isolated event! The lake has a clean spacious beach area with two shaded benches and lots of picnic tables to store your belongings or hold a bbq while the kids swim. There is a fishing pier and the lake hosts a lot of canoeing and kayaking. There also is a nearby upgraded playground with bathrooms. Located between West Bend and Fredonia your bound to run into neighbors or friends here if your from either area!

This is a beautiful land preserve located just outside of Fredonia Wi. The Ozaukee Washington land…read moretrust oversees this preserve. Parking is limited with just two spots right off of clover valley road next to the trail head sign but you can park along the side of the road. The trail to the top of the hill leads you to a old house remains. Just the foundation remains but it is a really interesting find. There is also the remains of a larger building, possibly a barn at one time. The structure does have some graffiti And we seem to find beer bottles there every time we visit. A hot spot for the local teenagers I'm sure. The trail leads you along a huge grassland area where you can easily spot turkey vultures, Hawks and other large birds hunting for small game. Once you reach the end of the grassland area the trail splits and you can either go up to your left or down to your right. If you choose the upward trail you will hike up and down a trail that winds down from the hilltop into the forest, finishing at the plank walk and looping back to the opposite trail. There is a bench area along this trail. If you choose the downward trail it will take you directly to a plank walk down to Huiras lake. There is a small Pier that goes out onto the lake so you can observe the otters that swim there, or watch the ducks. I am unsure how the fishing is at this lake. There is no boat access from the land preserve. This is a nice place to walk your dog, or to take your family on a nature walk. I have brought my cub scouts here to do bird counts, it's not well traveled and because it isn't you can really enjoy the solitude while there.

We had such a blast at the Westbury Bank Aquapark in West Bend! Our family (two adults and an…read more11-year-old) went for the first time, and we couldn't stop smiling. The inflatables are HUGE--slides, climbing spots, and even a swing that had us laughing like kids. The whole area is great for a full day out. There are picnic tables if you want to bring lunch, a concessions stand for snacks, a splash pad for the little ones, and a regular swimming area if you just want to relax. Everything felt clean and well-maintained, and the staff was super friendly and safety-focused (life jackets for everyone).
