Rico was fantastic! I called another handyman service in my area and explained to them what was wrong with my kitchen disposal as well as part of my back fence that needed to be repaired. They started giving me prices of new disposals and an estimate of how long it would take to replace. When I talked to Rico, he walked me through the steps I could try to fix the disposal myself. He told me if I wasn't able to or if I didn't want to, he would do it, but wanted to give me the chance to save a few bucks. It took me a few tries, but I was able to do it myself. I appreciated the help with the money saving and it really showed just how much integrity Rico has as he could have charged me to fix it or he could have sold me a whole new disposal, like the other company tried. When Rico arrived to fix my fence he took a look at it and told me I had two options, a cheaper option and a more expensive option. I told him I'd be happy to pay for the more expensive option if it meant my dogs wouldn't be able to escape again. He told me he was pretty sure he could make the cheaper option work and keep my dogs in my yard. He finished and had me come check and the fence is very sturdy - my two 70 lb German Shepherds wont be breaking through! And the best part? The final total for the job was 60% of the original "cheaper" estimate! I would have never known the difference and he could have easily charged me the full rate. We recently moved back to Houston and our house has other projects I need to tackle. I called Rico this morning for an estimate to come and fix my door jam. I thought the rate he gave me was pretty good, but wanted to make sure I shopped around before taking my first offer. I called T&Z and they wanted to charge me An hour the same price as Rico gave me for the entire job. I called him back, and he didn't answer, which made me Nervous because I thought I lost my chance. However, Rico called me bck about 2 hrs later and explained that his customer had asked him to turn off his phone while in the house as to not wake the babies. Rico has such great customer service that he obliged, knowing that he would miss calls from potentials such as myself. Rico and partner showed up to fix my Door early that afternoon, and were in and out in under an hour! The other guys said it would take them 4-5 hours to fix and would cost me about $1,000... Rico is very rude and greedy. I called him to put cabinet knobs. He came at 8:40 am for his 8:30 appointment. He kept gossiping for 30 min not telling us that he has started his $$ clock. He asked for 360 $ for putting knobs in 3 bathrooms. We agreed to do the job at hourly rate of 60$. He took multiple breaks in between and was very slow. Finished job in 2 hours. Went to his car at noon and came back at 1pm with a 300$ bill. He was rude and said he worked 5 hours. With any calculation he had worked 3 hours. Did not complete the job and left saying I don't want to finish it. He made me pay 300$ since I did not have time to argue with him. Avoid hiring him, very unprofessional and unethical practice of over charging. read more

I called Rico to come and replace an attic door and do some cosmetic touch-ups to our rental apartment as well as our own house. He saved us money by fixing the broken ladder hinge rather than having to replace the entire unit! He did great detail work on sanding down the window trim and repainting as well as fixing drywall cracks. He's honest, hard-working, and very reasonably priced. Rico did a great job! He is honest, fair, on time, and does great work. I had a leaking window in my house and Rico was able to identify the leak, fix it, and repair the woodwork around the window that had rotted away. He did a wonderful job and communicated very well with me to let me know what was going on. Rico showed up to my place an hour earlier than our appointment (but had told me he might be doing this when I called him to confirm our appointment). He installed a ceiling fan after finding which switch led to the unused cabling, put on a new valve knob for my water shut-off valve, and removed a bird's nest and covered the vent where they were getting in for very cheap. His total cost was roughly equal to another handyman's quote on putting on the new knob. I would recommend him to get your general fixing and installations done around the house. read more

Rico installed new ceiling fans with remote controls for me and did a better job that a well-known, large electrical company I had used for a similar job. He installed a ceiling medallion with one of the fans and it looks fantastic. He even switched out the blades from one fan that I was getting rid of and put them on another one that I was keeping the house so that it would look better.
