I had basically given up on finding a good, reliable handyman service when I found all these great reviews for Project Pro. I spend several months getting bids to fix our wrought iron gate which was rusted and in need of new paint. I ended up getting 4 different bids, all of which required removing my gate for around a week, which was unfortunately, a safety risk in my mind. So the project remained on my "to-do" list. I came across a Yelp review for Project Pro and decided to give them a call, based on the 5-star reviews there. Robert Sherman came by that afternoon to look at the gate and a few other projects we came up with. (We decided to have our garage door and front door trim painted in addition to the gate repairs). Robert and his painter, Noe, explained their process, which involved using a chemical to remove the rust. The work would be done in place, over two days, so I wouldn't have to worry about the security aspects of not having a gate. We accepted the bid and the work started the following week. Let me just say this was one of the best experiences I've had since moving back to Houston. Noe arrived exactly on time and ready to get to work. Robert was accessible throughout the process by phone and called frequently to check in. All of the projects were completed on time and look fantastic. But that is a tougher job than imagined. Project Pro was the second company I reached out to and I was sold after my first conversation with them. I am moving into an older property and got some new interior and exterior doorframes installed on both the front and back doors that needed to be painted ASAP. After a few leads going cold, and a lot of unprofessionalism, I stumbled across Project Pro and Robert is extremely professional, warm, and easy to talk to. He charges an hourly rate and gives you a pretty accurate window of when your project should be finished up front. Communication is great, Robert was always quick to answer or call back. We had a hole in our bedroom roof due to an accident, and would need to have sheet rock repair done. The good thing is that this person DID call back. The bad thing is he is a middle man. It's easy to call back when all you will do is farm out the service. He quoted a charge of $90/ hour labor for electrician (not certified) and $145/ hour for a dry wall guy. Of course who knows how long these folks would take. They would charge per hour to get the supplies as well. Plus of course expenses. Also, this happened on a Friday, and they would not be able to come until Monday. I have no problem paying workers, but I won't pay middleman. The only reason I am writing this is because of all the five star reviews, which are deceptive. read more

This is the second job for us with Project Pro. The first involved repairing a hole in a closet after a panel was removed from that wall. They did a fantastic job- I mean, on time, had to put in new sheetrock and make it look like it was always there, then get it prepped and painted. It looked perfect. So, we called them back for repairing some water damage on the ceiling from a minor roof leak (if there is such a thing). Then, my husband decided we needed to have caulk touched up where some had separated at the crown molding. So we added that to the list. The entire job (and I mean it was about 50 linear feet of caulk repair!) was only 2.5 hours, they arrived at 8 am sharp and left at 10:30 am with everything done. They cleaned up really well. When they left, it all looked as if those areas were brand new. I will always call them!! I am really not a very patient person, and I'm kind of picky. They have done excellent work. (Thank you, Noe and your helper!) You get what you pay for and more with them. They are honest about what they will charge you, and if you add on stuff, then be prepared. They work by the clock!! Robert might be hard to get to sometimes, but it is worth it to just keep leaving a message. When they are working at your house, he will definitely be in touch with you.
