I have moved many times, including overseas more than once, and know the professionalism required…read moreby moving companies. First of all, it was a long time waiting to move as we waited for the closing date on our new home to arrive, it kept being extended for reasons beyond our control. The Cherry Family Movers sent a crew who was largely inexperienced and young, although it would have been far better for the older of them to have been in charge. The younger one was the boss's son, and therefore, brash and careless. Many items were broken during the move, including the door at our old home in Abilene. In our new home, the hearth, was nicked, and the original refinished wood floor scratched in the living room of our new home. We would have provided dinner for the crew, but the boss's son disallowed that, and they did not have any breaks, other than water provided to them by us. We had a freezer top damaged, and gave the benefit of the doubt, as it was the first item, The struts on the hutch were damaged, because they did not remove the hutch from the buffet prior to moving it. Antique collectors items, snow globes, and figurines were broken, because they did not take the time to wrap them. Also, some items we have looked for in scavenger hunt style, because the remotes and cords were separated from the TV and bolts, separated from items that we needed to put together. The cost for the move was $3110 from Abilene to the Plainview area. Give the crew proper training and teach them how to pack and label correctly. Least of all provide an inventory sheet for damage control, and give the moving crew proper breaks to hydrate and eat. Surprisingly, the piano didn't fall like Jenga pieces. Lastly, many items were left behind, and yes, my husband will go back and retrieve them, including tools and flatware. Update: Not going to get into a flaming war. But, please do give ojos azul the shift leader position. I hope that things improve for all. Oh, and where oh where are the Firesticks?

Would give it zero stars if I could…read more.. Absolutely would not recommend Joe's Movers after this experience. If not for the experience itself but the lack of transparency, respect and urgency towards their customers. I booked Joe's Movers through Facebook Messenger on July 5, at 1438. I explained to whomever runs the page that I needed Movers for about 2 hours in order to load a 22ft. Penske truck on base at Dyess Air Force Base. My husband just had a hernia repair and is on a lifting restriction and was unable to help. I wanted to book these Movers so my dad who traveled 23 hours didn't have to break his back moving boxes after he traveled so hard to help us move. He successfully booked us for 2 hours on July 24th at 9 am. He assured me on many occasions that his people have been on base before without a problem and that they would be willing to meet me at the Dyess VCC for a visitors pass. With that being said, for those who don't know military families are OFTEN on tight moving schedules and plan their moves wildly in advance to accommodate a certain number of travel days. The first red flag should have been zero confirmation the night before. I reached back out to said Facebook page and asked for confirmation morning of that we still had Movers. I received a call from who I assume to be Joe stating that he found out a few days prior that he had a gentleman lose his id and could no longer get on base. He also mentioned he had a few people quit and he himself was out of town. He only had one mover for us and was having issues finding anymore. He understood my frustration and even though it was crappy we were willing to work with it in exchange for a drop in price. I was told that the one guy would come and meet at the VCC like planned. I waited at the VCC with no responses to multiple texts, fb messages and a call. Joe called back and let me know that even though he was already late our mover was picking up a uhaul for the next move, dollys, and a company vehicle. I explained to Joe I was very frustrated about the fact we booked them at 9 am and it was close to 10:00 I explained that we were on a tight schedule as cleaners were to be coming at 12. Joe showed zero sympathy, urgency or understanding in the matter and shoved it off as being one of those days. I understand that matra but try being the military couple far from home, on a moving schedule, standing in front of a 22 ft truck you have tp fill yourself as your movers backed out. Joe's movers never called, he never showed up and Joe left my text messages on read knowing exactly I'm sure the limbo situation they left us in. Do not expect reliability or communication from this company. Deeply disappointed in the whole experience and not even as much of an explanation from the company.
