Cherry family movers came today to pack our belongings. We were expecting experienced adults who would do a really good job. What we got was 4 kids who were unsupervised. Some boxes were overloaded so the lids did not close flat, some have lots of space so that contents can shift around. They left boxes everywhere, instead of leaving paths to walk. I have moved many times, including overseas more than once, and know the professionalism required by moving companies. First of all, it was a long time waiting to move as we waited for the closing date on our new home to arrive, it kept being extended for reasons beyond our control. The Cherry Family Movers sent a crew who was largely inexperienced and young, although it would have been far better for the older of them to have been in charge. The younger one was the boss's son, and therefore, brash and careless. Many items were broken during the move, including the door at our old home in Abilene. In our new home, the hearth, was nicked, and the original refinished wood floor scratched in the living room of our new home. We would have provided dinner for the crew, but the boss's son disallowed that, and they did not have any breaks, other than water provided to them by us. We had a freezer top damaged, and gave the benefit of the doubt, as it was the first item, The struts on the hutch were damaged, because they did not remove the hutch from the buffet prior to moving it. Antique collectors items, snow globes, and figurines were broken, because they did not take the time to wrap them. Also, some items we have looked for in scavenger hunt style, because the remotes and cords were separated from the TV and bolts, separated from items that we needed to put together. The cost for the move was $3110 from Abilene to the Plainview area. Give the crew proper training and teach them how to pack and label correctly. Least of all provide an inventory sheet for damage control, and give the moving crew proper breaks to hydrate and eat. Surprisingly, the piano didn't fall like Jenga pieces. Lastly, many items were left behind, and yes, my husband will go back and retrieve them, including tools and flatware. Update: Not going to get into a flaming war. We had booked a move with a different mover a month ago. The night before the move (at 9:15 pm), our mover called to tell us he couldn't do our move. He said he had spoken with Cherry Family Movers and they were willing to do it. Cherry called me to get the details of our move to give me a quote. Their price was very reasonable! They texted the next morning to let me know the exact time they would arrive. The crew was 4 of the best movers we've ever used. They knew what they were doing and worked quickly to get it done. They were respectful and had great attitudes/personalities. They turned a very stressful situation into a great experience. I can't thank them enough. read more

Dealing with this company has been a total nightmare . If there was 0 stars available to give, that is what I would give them. Bambi Calderon and I had an agreement for their company to move my 1 bedroom apartment worth of furniture. Almost all of my things were damaged, chipped , scratched, n dinged up. Bambi asked me to pay her and she would file a claim with her insurance to reimburse me for the damages. I get a letter from get insurance company telling me Cherry Family Movers was not covered for damages incurred during the move. After receiving the letter I tried reaching out to her several times to see how she was going to fix this and I have not heard back from her northe owner, Chris Cherry. I paid them and got stuck with a house full of damaged goods and no one wants to do the right thing. This is unbelievable! read more

Professional and polite. Moved my belongings safely and with care. Easy to communicate with. Highly recommend.

On the good side, they showed up fairly early in the morning, especially since we were moving three hours away, and they managed to get our property to the new place by the middle of the afternoon. On the negative side: to start with, they showed up with a U-Haul truck that was too small for our belongings and they crammed everything into the small truck instead of getting a bigger truck. In doing so they broke a lot of our stuff. They broke a post of my headboard in half, broke a top completely off an end table and broke a corner of my dining table. One of the movers dropped a box of my daughter's that was CLEARLY marked fragile then kicked it out of his way instead of picking it up. Our boxes were CLEARLY marked which rooms they were to go into. Almost none of the boxes were placed into the correct rooms when they unloaded them, which made it very difficult to find the things we needed for the first night in the new place. It took us too long to get the boxes into the right rooms to be able to get much unpacking done that evening. They scratched furniture and banged furniture into the walls, causing gouges and scrapes in various places of the newly painted walls. I was highly disappointed with this company. read more

Hired these movers to assist with my move and the move went great. While the men were packing up my moving dolly was accidentally loaded into their truck. When I called to ask if they had it a few days later Chris told me that he did have it and would deliver the next day. He did not deliver and said he took it back to uhaul. Later he stated that they took back a UHaul dolly and did not have mine at all. When discussing the situation on the phone he showed me a video of dollies they have and one looked like it could be mine. He disagreed and suggested I come look at them in person. We have since spoke on the phone where he then proceeded to use fowl language and yelling over the phone. I do not feel safe going to this persons home to view the dolly in person when it is clear that he will not agree to the fact it is mine or has mine. I'm simply looking to get my dolly back or a reimbursement for a new dolly. read more

These guys were great. They showed up in the freezing rain and went to work. They moved everything quickly and efficiently and even made me laugh some. It was miserable out but these guys were the best. I highly recommend them. read more

The bid was very reasonable and they did a very good job and picking up the furniture at a storage facility in Abilene Texas and delivering it to a family member in Cedar Park Texas everything arrived in good order and everyone was pleased with the results and we are too. Sent the owner Chris a message and he responded back immediately and was able to get movers to load a truck last minute. On time, fast, reliable, exceptional service.
