I did extensive due diligence in the prosper/frisco/dallas area to find a trustworthy and affordable pest control service. I was suggested by folks in my neighborhood to call moxie and a couple other larger companies to get quotes from. Moxie was atrocious, the prices were high and the salesman I was communicating with was pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer. I stumbled upon Big D on yelp and also have seen some of their trucks driving around when I am out and about in town. Bo came out a couple days after I initially called and I assumed he could use the in-wall pest control system that was installed when my newer home was built. Unfortunately, one company had an agreement with my builder and only a company named Home Team could service it. Bo was so nice, he answered all my questions and told me to call him back if I decided not to go with Home Team. In the end, Their prices were outrageous and it was hard to get ahold of their customer service team so I called Big D back. At this point, I had a bad fire ant problem around the foundation of my home. I'm talking multiple large nests with many smaller nests popping up. They would swarm my porch when it rained and having a young child, I was very concerned about our time outside and him or myself getting bitten. They quoted me a very affordable price compared to all the other companies I had contacted and I had already established a good relationship with Bo. Let me brag on Bo for a moment. He is a kind man who has been in the industry a very long time. He doesn't beat around the bush or try to upsell you nor does he push you to buy different services. Bo is honest, sincere, and good at his job. I also get the feeling he genuinely enjoys what he does. He was very patient in answering any additional questions I had and even took the time to investigate a hole I had in my backyard (turns out it was just bunny hole lol). I am very proud to support a locally owned business. It has been 2 weeks since my service and I haven't seen any ants or spiders. Did a termite spot treatment on my house and were very professional, showed up on time, and were very accessible whenever I called. Some of the other companies I called would only do the termite treatment if I agreed to be set up on their "maintenance plan" where I would have to pay them monthly for treatment, which I did not want. Had this service for over a year and a half, asked them to control the rat problem that was creeping up on our outside hedges. They put two bait boxes and filled it every three months. There was no improvement on the rat problem. After the first year I tried to cancel the service and they talked me out of it saying they would come more often than every three months. That they would come and fill the bait boxes quicker. After six months of again horrible service that included a service man not even showing up when he said he did, and billing me for the visit, I cancelled the service. My nephew and I went to Lowes, bought a few bait boxes and extra bait that goes inside. Placed them around the house ourselves and filled the boxes up. Within 2 days we saw a dramatic decrease of rats!!! Within 2 weeks we have NO rats!!! This leads me to believe they weren't putting bait in any of the boxes the whole time! It has been 2 months since we did this self service with simple Lowes products and we are still RAT FREE!!! DO NOT USE Big D Pest & Termite for RAT removal!!! Do it yourself and save yourself hundreds of dollars! read more
