Sample of chicken, kids ate the ribs before I got a chance to take a photo :)

I finally got a shot to try the Wood fire and Charcoal grilled meats from this Mom and Pop chain. I bought my food from the food truck location. We tried the Chicken and rack of ribs with honey BBQ sauce on the side. The meat was lightly seasoned, juicy and not dry. The skin was lightly toasted and not overly charred. The price was reasonable for a Wood fire Charcoal grill. The smoke filled the meat. I also had plain sliced bread. There is no seating by the food truck location, but you can order and they bring your order to your car. It's not a fancy looking spot, but have to give 5 stars for friendly prompt service, and that Wood Charcoal flavor, that is increasingly hard to find. The Restaurant fronts they operate offer more items, but they also use Wood Charcoal to cook with. Recommend a visit to the food truck location, but come after 11am.

I recently had the pleasure of takeout at Big Daddy's Bar-B-Que, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left me longing for more. As soon as I sank my teeth into their barbecue pork ribs, I knew I was in for a treat. The meat was so tender, succulent, and bursting with smoky flavor that it practically melted in my mouth. Fall of the bone greatness. Every bite was a journey through savory delight, leaving me craving another serving before I'd even finished. But the culinary magic didn't stop there. The collard greens were an exquisite culinary masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, they had just the right balance of texture and taste. The tangy and slightly bitter notes of the greens were harmoniously complemented by delicate seasonings, creating a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more. And let's not forget about the potato salad - a true testament to the art of barbecue cuisine. Creamy, slightly tangy, and perfectly seasoned, it was the ideal side dish to accompany the ribs. It added a refreshing element to each bite, completing the sensational flavor journey with its delightful texture and taste. But the climax of this gustatory voyage came with their peach cobbler. Oh, the heavenly combination of warm, gooey peaches, perfectly spiced with hints of cinnamon and topped off with a golden, buttery crust. Each spoonful transported me to a place of pure bliss, where the flavors of summer danced on my taste buds. A bite of this divine dessert was like a love letter to my senses, filling me with sheer joy and a longing to return for more. It's safe to say that my experience at Big Daddy's Bar-B-Que was nothing short of extraordinary. The exceptional tenderness of their barbecue pork ribs, the flavorful collard greens, the delectable potato salad, and the mouthwatering peach cobbler - every bite left an indelible mark on my taste buds, and my heart. I simply can't wait to return for another unforgettable culinary expedition to tryout there other dishes at Big Daddy's Bar-B-Que. They also have breakfast too. Fish fry with grits, YUM!!!

This is front of the yard on Sunday after church type BBQ. Very unassuming no thrills building. It smells delicious once you open your car door. The woman at the counter was friendly, and very polite. Food was delicious, and the prices were crazy good. For $45 we got 3 meals, a huge portion of seafood rice (which was bangin' and 2 big drinks. The plaza next door had some Dancehall music playing so the vibes were perfect for eating at the picnic tables. Will definitely swing back through when visiting again.

    Seafood rice!

WHEN I MEAN DELICIOUS....I MEAN DAMN GOOD! Seriously the BEST bbq, staff, and service we had while being in winter haven! We are from New Orleans and I wish we had y'all back home! Thanks for the great food we will be back one day! A MUST TRY! && that seafood rice was so goooood! If you can get it GET IT!

This is one of the places where you can't let looks deceive you. Any average person would probably pass by this restaurant and not think much of it. But I can guarantee you Big Daddy's does not disappoint and they have a lot to offer. Big Daddy's BBQ has a little bit of everything. From breakfast, burgers, fried fish, snow crabs, salads, BBQ, curry, etc. Your options are definitely limitless and it's hard to be disappointed. I've been eating here for a few years. I came back into town and this place was one of the first places I HAD to stop by. This is by far my FAVORITE soul food restaurants in the central Florida area. I ordered the BBQ chicken dinner with greens and baked beans. My husband went for the BBQ rib dinner with Mac and baked beans. The food was ready and out in about 5-7 minutes. We could not pass on their strawberry lemonade (highly recommend). We went in the patio to soak in the Florida sun and dived into our meals. It was delicious. Just like I had remembered it. The portions are HUGE so you most likely will have a hefty amount to take home to eat later. This was my husband's first time coming here and enjoyed the ribs. He did mention that he wished they were more tender, but overall the flavor was spectacular. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves good food for a GREAT price.

I've always said it's the small unassuming places that make the best food. Breakfast from a barbecue place, spread the word America is Great Again people. For less than $10 I had eggs, grits, sausage, bacon and pancakes. It really tastes like your your grandma's Sunday breakfast before church. BD's is right off the road with easy entry/exit plus you can eat outside and enjoy the lake view and great weather. The menu has a variety of entrees from ribs to fish to gizzards. With all of the sides and desserts you can plan a meal for the entire family to include a large selection of sweet tea flavors. The next trip will definitely include lunch and dinner meals.

Amazing! This bbq is amazing. I came here with my family to visit legoland. It was pretty late and was looking to find some good food. Bbq is usually always my first choice so i was happy to see this bbq spot was still open. I was shocked at how cheap the food was! And the portions were so big. The ribs were so tender. And that sweet sauce was delicious. Mac and cheese was super creamy. The baked beans was probably the best tasting beans I've ever had. I was so full that i couldn't eat my red velvet slice. I did sample it and that cake was so moist! And the frosting was definitely homemade. If I'm ever back in winter haven, this will be my first stop.

This is my FAVORITE Soul Food restaurant. The prices anf portionsare great. There are a variety food selections to choose. If you craving breakfast, it's served all day at this restaurant. If you like the lighter side of things, there are options for some great salads. They're also Seafood options. However, my favorite are the soul food options. Check the specials board for some additional options. I always order the chitterlings plate. They are always tasty. One of my other favorites is the oxtail dinner. My challenge at this restaurant is which sides to choose. They have so many great options for sides from collard greens to macaroni and cheese. You get a choice of yellow rice or white rice with each entree as well as two sides and cornbread. The prices range between $8 and $14 for a meal. This is my stop every time I'm in the Winter Haven area.

I have stomach problems and can only have meals like this. I usually always get greens and baked beans with ribs or chicken. I always call ahead and prep is usually 15 min. And the crew is very nice.

    a sandwich wrapped in plastic

food was not good, brisket was all fat, and they had to go into a gas station to get my Mac n cheese and greens. bread was hard and like sliced sandwich bread, not toasted or nothing. but it was HARD. The lady I spoke with on the phone was really rude. Basically told me to keep this food for three days to return or replace my order. greens were not that great, Mac n cheese could've used a little seasoning. the stove had a to of non food or items sitting on it, and paper bags, condiment containers etc. i heard grey things about it and decided to try it and paid $19 for my meal and it was a complete waste of my lunch time at work and of my money!!!!

This was not. The pulled pork had no flavor. The brisket sandwich was super fatty, not moist. Brisket bark had some good smoke. The sides were very disappointing. The fries were frozen french fries and they tasted that way. The baked beans had some flavor and not too bad. The potato salad was prepackaged and tasted that way. And then the cornbread had zero flavor at all. I hate being that guy but from all the raves, I thought we had a "smokin" bbq joint in our backyard. The folks here were super nice. On with our search for a good, consistent BBQ place in this area.

I ordered a spare rib plate with sides of fries and mac-n-cheese. The dish also came with a piece of garlic bread. To start, the ribs were a bit tough and hardly had any smoke or bark flavors. I love a rib that requires some "chew" to get them off the bone, but the toughness mentioned was not of that variety. Bottled sauces (on the tables) were alright, but nothing special. I will say the seasoned fries and gooey mac-n-cheese were both good. Lastly, the garlic bread had very little seasoning on it, more like a dry piece of toast really. Had heard such good things, but this visit really disappointed me and my (extended) family who also had similar feelings about the meals they had chosen.

The ribs are tender with a perfectly subtle smoky flavor that doesn't overpower the meat. Their collard greens are seasoned beautifully and balance out the sweetness of the cornbread. This restaurant is pretty cool and there were plenty of people already indulging, so our hopes were high. Three of us ordered the chopped brisket plate, with x2 sides. The menus listed the cost at $17.49 which seemed reasonable. We ordered a few appetizers, some drinks and a plate for the kids (who ate at the festival) to split. They were very short staffed with only two people working the floor, one of which was the overworked (as far as we were concerned) bartender who took our order at a table. The bartender did her bartending and the drinks were very good. However, whoever was working the kitchen did a subpar job; and the bill was fouled up. My brisket plate included sides of onion rings and fried okra, along with cornbread. I personally was not happy with my selections, taste-wise. The brisket was fairly flavorless and seemed "old" to me. The onion slices within the rings were watery, albeit the rings themselves were firm (not much flavor however). The okra, again, did not have much flavor to them and I failed to finish them. The cornbread was nothing special either. The others felt their food selections were "okay", but this is my review and I disagreed with them - it could've (should've) been better. Upon getting the bill we discovered that we were charged $20.49 for those advertised $17.49 plates. There also was an added 'Florida Tea' cocktail that was not only not delivered, but never ordered. I recommend you check your bills thoroughly before paying. This may have been an anomaly, but maybe not. As for me personally I won't choose to return here anytime soon, unless I am outvoted by the company I keep.
