We came here for breakfast, ordering a variety of breakfast foods amongst 5 of us. It was all pretty basic stuff, tasted good and what have not. The food all came out about the same time and in a timely manner. Service was also good. Breakfast foods are generally pretty basic, thus the 3 stars (acceptable with no issues). I would return here for breakfast again. The "real" overall review will be once we eat here for lunch or dinner. I'll revisit this review once we do that. read more

Worth the experience. Ordered breakfast, which their menu had plenty of inexpensive choices. Eggs-plentiful (ordered 2/ looked liked 4), hash browns- well done like I asked, Catfish I substituted/added on- forget about it (size of my hand - I am 6'2" 280), grits needed a little love, but it came with other goodies. Breakfast was delivered in a small plate and I had to ask for a large plate. The breakfast burrito was overdone lacking taste and then wrapped in the burrito. The food was sub par and ended up getting an egg that had some weird grayish stuff on it that I've never seen anywhere I've been. The service was okay but when mentioned about egg the server nor the manager seemed worried about it at all so don't think that was the best way the could've handled it... and the place itself was not the cleanest it looked like it needed a deep clean and the experience altogether made me feel like I hope I don't get food poisoning we will see what the outcome is . read more

This was in my top favorite places to dine at. The food was perfect, the prices were affordable, and the owner was special and made his customers feel special. Then a new owner took over and immediately it changed. I have gone back at least 3-4 times just hoping it would improve but today was the last time. The food just doesn't taste the same, seems to be lower quality and much smaller portions. To be honest, I would rather just cook at home than pay to eat there again. Big Tom's is a diner that has a small town feel. Everyone is so friendly. The decor is filled with photos of Elvis and the like. The chicken is AMAZING. April 18,2025. I've been to this diner twice since I've moved to Florida. The first time was excellent but the second time, not so much. Well, today we placed a carryout order and got the Big Toms Breakfast which comes with 3 meats,eggs, choice of hashbrowns, and sausage & gravy. My wife got 2 biscuits with gravy and eggs. Our complaint is that my wife's eggs were over done and they forgot my sausage gravy and biscuits that comes with the Toms Big Breakfast. It will be awhile, if I ever return! read more

We've been driving past this place for weeks and decided to give it a try. We came in at 6pm on a Friday night. It looked full but were able to be seated right away. We started off with fried okra as an appetizer. They were fried perfectly and the ranch dressing was yum. Move on to our main meals, I ordered the shredded beef wrap with cole slaw and my husband the country fried steak meal. We begin eating and we're happy with our choices. It's not over the top delicious but it was good. The beef in my wrap was a little on the plain side. Definitely needed some sauce on it. Luckily there was a single option (A1) on the table because our waitress didnt offer any bbq sauce options. My husband takes another bite of his and says I don't think this is mine. The waitress comes over to ask how things are going and I say, I think you brought my husband someone else's plate, he ordered country fried steak and it's chicken. She said no, that's how I put it in. (??) She said she thought he asked for country fried chicken but didn't offer to correct it. My husband not wanting to make a big deal about it told her it was OK. It was still good and he was fine with it. We got sweet tea for drinks and it tasted watered down. Move on to dessert (banana pudding) and that, was very good. The guy (I guess the manager) seemed nice. Was at the front desk acknowledging and greeting each guest that came in. The restaurant was full (more mature crowd) so I expected we would've had a better experience. I think if we had a different waitress, one that was more attentive, it may have changed my perspective on the whole dining experience. Our waitress, although she tried to be nice never even introduced herself. Like I said, the food wasnt bad, maybe we just went in on an off day. I don't know. It's tough to hand out a 5 star review but this place managed to grab my attention. We stooped in because folks had told us they were awesome and boy was it the truth. It was brunch time and I grabbed a Tom's breakfast that had 3 eggs, sausage gravy and an enormous biscuit, hashbrown caserole, 2 sausage links, slice of ham annnnnd 2 strips of bacon for $11. Are you kidding me...it was more than I could handle and I had to take a rest before I could finish it. Everything was fresh and delicious and the waitress was great too. Seated right away (before 8 am, it gets really busy later on). Basic atmosphere but very clean. Service was prompt, coffee came quick and refills were frequent. The Country Benedict (over biscuits with sausage) was substantial and tasty, the waffle was good but cooked easy (I should have ordered it "crisp" or well done), and the grits were creamy. What the heck has happened to this place. They do a nice renovation and everything else falls apart. The cooks are reluctant to cook to order and very stubborn. Home fries, cold. Bacon, cold. Servers, indifferent to complaint. Try to get a second cup of coffee. This used to be our go-to. The place that we normally go to for breakfast has limited parking and we couldn't find any. So, We kept on driving. I Yelp for the next and nearest breakfast location. This place came up. The location had plenty of parking, we think at one point it used to be a Sizzlers. The price of the food is moderate but the food wasn't great. The service wasn't great. The server was nice but she didn't listen well to my husband order. my husband wanted a soda only and I wanted coffee and water. She assume my husband wanted water and ask if he wanted lemons. He said no because he only wanted a soda. My husband order a BLT on white and she asked if he wanted white and he said no white. Well she came back with 2 glass of waters and a side of lemon. when the food came out my husband got wheat bread with only 2 slice of bacon! The tomatoes was cut so thick it was like like a 1/2 of inch! He basically got a tomato sandwich with a hint of bacon on wheat instead of white. I order an egg Benedict with a side of home fries. My home fries were more like home crunchy. It's like they scraped the bottom of the pan. The manager kept walking by checking up on us which was nice but we don't like making a fuss. Delicious home cooking and great waitstaff!! Everything I've tried has tasted fresh and wonderful! The fresh vegetables, white fish, seafood platter, chicken fried steak and Cinnabon pancakes are our favorites! The country fried steak is on the breakfast and lunch menu both. Can ask for white gravy with a biscuit or brown with mushrooms. Yummy both ways! We make a drive from Orlando just to eat here! Well worth it!! Clean and nice atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly! Every weekend mom and I go out for breakfast. We like to find new places were the locals go. Found this place one week and decided to give it a try. Plenty of parking outside I recommend getting there early as it starts to fill up around 9 AM or 10 AM. now onto the food I ordered a sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with a side of home fries and gravy. Much to my surprise my breakfast sandwich showed up without sausage. The home fries were severely overcooked not much flavor the gravy had only a few pieces of sausage in it and again was lacking flavor. had really high hopes for this place judging it from the outside which looks great until you walk inside and you notice it hasn't been touched in probably 30 years. Staff was real friendly and polite however it did take about 15 minutes for waitress to finally come over and say hello. well I guess it's off to find another new little place. read more

When we arrived about 11:50 am this place was packed, and why not, they serve breakfast all day. We were sat promptly and the server was quick to take our drink order. My wife ordered the pulled pork with potato salad and green beans. I ordered the full rack of pork ribs with Black Eyed Peas and turnip greens. Our food came out quickly. My wife's pulled pork was tender but had no smokiness but the flavor was good. It had way too much bbq sauce on it. I prefer no sauce and Hickory smoked. Her potato salad wasn't the best, but exactly what you would expect from a diner. Her green beans was well seasoned. My spare ribs were very tender and fell off of the bone. They tasted like they were slow roasted. They could have used a few minutes on the grill to char the bbq sauce but still very tasty. Both my black eyed peas and greens were well seasoned. Went to Big Tom's to grab something to eat and was seated immediately. The parking lot was full and realized that this was the hangout spot for snowbirds. Ordered a footlong and fries, bun was oversized but would work out if you order a chili dog. Others in my party ordered fish dinners and a BLT. Their portions were huge and the fried white fish was crispy and flaky. You have to arrive early because it will get crowded quickly. You know when you have to wait a couple of seconds to turn into the parking lot and there are people waiting outside, that you are in for a good experience. Today was our first experience at Big Tom's Diner. We ordered Big Tom's Breakfast (3 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 bacon, choice of breakfast potatoes, biscuit and gravy) $8.99, a side of corned beef hash, $2.29, Great Eight ( 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes) $7.49. This is a huge amount of food but for the first time we wanted to sample as much as we could and we are taking leftovers home for yet another meal. The bacon and sausage were both very flavorful, the corned beef hash was grilled and crisp around the edges, the biscuit was quite fluffy and covered in a tasty sausage cream gravy. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. Our wait time to be seated was only 15 minutes or less and our server, food runner and busser were all very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner another time. read more
