My fiance my parents & I went here for dinner I got the bacon cheese burger it was the best burger I've had in a while

The Purple Pitt Stop is a local favorite. It's easy to miss while driving, but they have the best shakes and burgers. I highly recommend getting the purple shakes it's a vanilla base with white chocolate and black berries. The first time I visited I had ordered the quesadilla with birria beef. I would suggest getting the side order of consommé. The platter comes with their signature seasoned fries. If you don't have a big appetite, their portions are perfect for sharing. It's quick service as it's a small kitchen, and it's literally a road side stop. Local truckers and contractors alike stop by daily for their lunches. This was my first time visiting, but I'd been wanting to try it for a while. We came by around 2pm on a Tuesday and were greeted right away by a super polite woman at the window who took our order. We got the Tuesday taco dog meal, a double cheeseburger meal, a 4-piece chicken tender meal, and a kids cheeseburger meal. She told us it would take about 10 minutes since everything is made to order, which we didn't mind at all. There are picnic tables outside with all the condiments you need if you want to eat there, or you can take your food to go. The fans were a little loud, but they kept the area nice and cool. The food was pretty good, and the portions were generous. I'd definitely try this place again next time I'm in the area. If you're nearby, give it a shot! read more

Tried the Philly burger, had a cheesesteak on a hamburger patty. Was messy but good flavor and worth the 5 napkins to eat it. You kinda got both cheesesteak and burger flavors and both were done right. Their grill has a seasoned flavor like those old burger stands with the thin burgers that were super tasty. Cheesesteak top even had onions and peppers. It was a big burger, satisfying. Ordered to go, they said 15 mins and they were on time. Will be back for sure. read more

I happened upon a really cute little gem hole in the wall called the The purple pit stop in Polk City, FL. Service was excellent with lots of smiles. This was one of the best BPTs I've had and I've had many. Served on a very large toasted bun with super fresh veggies (I like mine all the way) and perfectly breaded and seasoned (might be a little light on the seasoning for some) and was crispy outside, tender and juicy inside..."signature" seasoned fries were spot on. $11.75 with fries and I added homemade Cole slaw for $3. I honestly don't know what a 10/10 BPT would be, so I'll just say it was Excellent! read more

Great roadside pitstop, outside eating only (with great fans in the hot season). Burgers are large and tasty. They do breakfast Fri & Sat. They also have had birria tacos, shrimp but we have to have their great burgers when we go! Great prices, friendly staff. They began as a food truck "Rolling Gourmet". WOW WOW WOW. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I will say it looked a bit sketchy driving up but it did not disappoint. They have tables outside with napkins and a few condiments. I got two barilla tacos which came with fries and they were so filling and so soo good. Amazing as always! Our kids literally cheer whenever we mention getting PPS for dinner. You can't go wrong with any of their options, but we really enjoy the BBQ Bacon Burger, it's super juicy, huge, and full of flavor. THE BEST burgers in Polk and the prices are also incredible. A GREAT spot to stop and get some delicious food! We love taking our girls here after school for a quick bite to eat. Our favorite thing to get is the fish fry done on fridays. The fish is always so crispy and fresh. I don't have a picture of that because we devour it so fast read more

Wow. Just wow. That's really all I have to say! JK- I have more. Stopped here after walking a warehouse in nearby Lakeland and TBH the options were limited. We saw this pop up and saw that it had stellar reviews so we decided to drive the 10 min off I4 to it. SUCH A GOOD DECISION. Rolling up in Polk City there's not much goin' on until we turned right and saw the purple greatness that is the purple pit stop rise up in all its glory. It's a walk up counter. There's no inside seating. There's a few outside shaded picnic tables and it was BUSY (noon on a Tuesday). It took 20-30 min to get our meals (group of 6) but worth the wait! I had the birria tacos with tacos and when I say they were the best tacos I've ever had, I'm not kidding. They were served with what's essentially an au jus for your tacos. Mind blown. Try the tacos - you won't regret it. Fries were perfectly cooked with delicious seasoning. Everyone else in my group had various variations of the burgers and everyone loved there's. Barria tacos were very good, I really enjoyed the purple cabbage on it. the consome was ok. Milk shakes were great I got the Pima colada my friend got the chocolate peanut butter. Tamala was good but not great would probably still buy another one. The fries were perfect. I would stop by again. read more

Was on that side of town and decided to try this place based on the good reviews it had gotten. And they did not disappoint, the young lady took my order and was very sweet, I had ordered the wings and quesadilla and 2 tamales. They had run out of the cheese they would use to make the quesadillas, they were very polite and came to inform me about it which I thought was really nice of them, I'm not sure if that changed the taste, but the quesadillas were missing a bit of seasoning, they tasted a bit bland. The wings were cooked perfectly with plenty of flavor. The tamales were a bit different than what I'm used to, but they were decent. I would definitely come back here again to try the burgers because they looked amazing! Must try! read more

Consistently great food. A simple menu and well prepared dishes. The Sweet N Hot Burger packs a punch with spicy heat but, is delicious. Fries are uniquely seasoned and always prepared hot snd fresh. Recently tried the Quesa Barria Tacos and again a well prepared dish with attention to detail. Lunch time can be a bit busy but off peak hours are best and you will wait a little bit for your food to be prepared "made to order" but well worth the wait. read more

A little place with big food. The best tacos I've had. I was in the mood and searched online and saw good reviews so gave it a try. Fries were a little too salty, but very good nonetheless. The birria tacos were awesome. I had the beef ones, they have chicken also. Large servings of everything. It's not too far from home, so I'm excited to go back and try the chicken tacos and their burgers. I also saw someone else get their strawberry shortcake dessert, that's on my list now too. The birria tacos are by far the best I've ever had and I've had them from everywhere.... I literally drink the dipping sauce it's so good. The French fries were hot and seasoned great. They make a garlic mayo! I highly recommend dipping the French fries in it. My milkshake was delicious as well. The wait sometimes can be long but well worth it. Calling your order in can cut down the wait time if you're in a hurry. This place is amazing so I drive all the way from Bartow to get it. 10/10 read more
