Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, the staff responded with attitude toward an elderly loyal customer. Good smoke, good flavor. Value was okay, service was good, wait time was okay. Not great but since it's the only bbq in the area, I would recommend for that Smokey bbq flavor. Would recommend the baked beans, would not recommend the peach cobbler. Not a great area as we did have a group of individuals that drove by and said "wasup cuh" trying to intimidate us, still would recommend. I went Friday. 27th. 2026. Order there new dino ribs they been advertising. Sent a bit of money. Bought 2 combo plates. 40. Each. Slobber. Sweet tea. Been here multiple times. Spen lots of $$. My aunt and I stopped by Big Daddy's for lunch today. I ordered the beef rib dinner, which came with two sides. I chose potato salad and mac and cheese. The beef ribs were incredibly tender, the meat practically fell off the bone though I did find them a bit too salty for my taste. The potato salad was excellent, but the mac and cheese was disappointing in both flavor and appearance. On the bright side, the strawberry lemonade was delicious. Just picked up two pulled pork sandwich plates a few sides. Mac n cheese, collard greens, beans, and the coleslaw. Let me tell you , that was delicious! Felt like a home cooked bbq meal. All were exceptional. The coleslaw was a little bland but still peppery and delicious.not too sweet. Loved everything else. Only thing... I forgot to grab hot sauce haha. First time going here after reading all the bad reviews so i decided to get the hobo fires which isn't an official menu item but has a bit of everything on it, fries, brisket, mac n cheese, and baked beans. Food is honestly not that good for the price it needs more bbq sauce and flavor, the brisket was dry and fries were just some basic frozen fries. Been wanting to try out this bbq place Everytime I come to HEMET. Finally caught it opened and it did not disappoint . The host at the window her name is UNIQUE. Unique was very sweet. We asked for recommendations and we took her advice and had the ribs, fish , Mac n cheese, collard greens , yams, pork ribs, hot links, brisket ( shredded) and chicken . We chose a big order called .... THE FAM BAM!! It came with 3 sides mentioned above. We ordered the fish separately . Everything was very good. Very expensive to me . It fed a family of 3 . The sides could have been bigger. Lots of meat not enough of the sides. The brisket was shredded and we were only given 1 slice of bread !! ONE... THAT WAS unbelievable and did not make sense other than that no complaints. It's really a drive-through place not much parking very few seats if you wanted to eat there outside ONLY really fast but the food was delicious !!!! we will be back. Thank you unique for your suggestions great attitude and big smile. It's not cheap though, we spent $70 just for Fam Bam alone and $20 for six pieces of fish. I have been here three times now and they have the best catfish around! I tried another place in Hemet with catfish but they don't compare. The catfish has great seasoning, is fried perfectly and is delicious. I have always gotten great service from here as everyone has bern super friendly! Service is great. Typically when I come they are super helpful with questions and knowledgeable about the product they sell. Always in a great mood. Ambiance is basic. There is no indoors but they have tables outside that are covered, you can eat there. The smoker smells so good! Food is not great, sadly. I'm not sure what happened within the passed year or so but the quality and flavors has gone completely down. The greens have no flavor. The mac n chz is mush. Saddest thing, turkey leg is dry, no flavor, and not very much meat. Im disappointed because the greens used to be flavorful with smokiness, juicy, and had little pieces of smoked turkey in it. Their bbq sauce has great flavor. The brisket is flavorless as well and shredded. Overall, I'd skip. I was fortunate to meet "Big Daddy" and his wife at the chiropractor's the other day and got his information. I have traveled worldwide for business, and in the US, I love North Carolina BBQ, followed by Memphis, Kansas City, and Texas. Many places state they have one of these city-type BBQs, but few can provide the taste. FINALLY, a BBQ location in California that serves real BBQ. Big Daddy's from the meat and sides, yes, I LOVE the COLLARD greens. This location is a winner, for the first time in 25 years of living in California, a real BBQ experience. I got their hobo fries. Pulled pork, brisket, baked beans, mac n cheese, and BBQ sauce all over a bed of fresh french fries. I paid less than $20 for the plate that lasted me 2.5 meals by myself. It was delicious I will definitely be going back for more. I went back today 9/13/24 to find out the $19.87 I had paid before was now $22. Their hobo potato has raised from $9.99 to $14.99. Driving through the area about noon on a Tuesday and I thought "BBQ ... I haven't had and good BBQ for a long time". I stopped and walked up to the window and was shocked ... yes, I knew prices were high, but I didn't think they had gone as high as Big Daddy was asking. So I thought "Do I really want to pay almost $30 for a lunch plate? But it is BBQ and at the prices they are asking, it must be really good! So I ordered ... 2 Beef Ribs and 2 sides, 1. Macaroni with Cheese and 2. Beans. About 5 minutes later, I was presented with a heavy Styrofoam Carton and a plastic fork. I found a table outside, opened up the carton and found ... surprise, surprise ... 3 Beef Ribs, the sides and a slice of Bread. I'm an older guy with problems gnawing down on a Rib so I took one of the Ribs and used the plastic fork to remove the heavily coated with BBQ sauce Rib and noticed that there wasn't much meat. I tried to cut the meat best I could with the plastic fork, and had to use my fingers to tear it apart (I did this on all three Ribs). There was a small amount of fat, but the meat part was very thin, apparently cooked too long. I ate it but their wasn't much meat there at all. I suspect that it had been cooked a previous day and had been sitting in (I'm not sure, maybe) a pressure cooker to keep it warm but had been there much too long and lost most of it's good meat. The Ribs were beyond disappointing ... they were horrible. Included with the meal were the two sides. The Beans were OK. By OK, they weren't much better or much worse than what is served at most BBQ places ... they were very average. The Macaroni and Cheese, however was overcooked, brown in color like it had been sitting cooking and was slightly burned and, I'm sure, had been sitting keeping warm in some pot for, who knows, days? I don't live in San Jacinto, not even in the Hemet area, but I do get down to the area, maybe on average, once a month. I WILL NOT EVER STOP AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN. And I advise both locals and visitors to not eat at this location. Let them fail. They deserve to do so. read more

Be careful with this place -- they have a bad habit of charging for items you don't end up receiving. It feels like a scam when you pay full price and parts of your order never show up. This place is usually good but I haven't been here in about a year or so. I got the Fam Bam on MLK day. It was the worst bbq plate I've had in a while. I was so disappointed. The meats had a weird unpleasant odor to them and the sides were disgusting. Those yams and greens needed to be thrown away and the mac n cheese was mushy. It seemed like the person that normally cooks well was not there that day or something. Yuck. When you own a restaurant, you can't leave it to just anyone to tend to. They may not have the passion and know-how that you do. I'm not sure if this is what happened at Big Daddys, but the food quality and flavor has definitely changed since my last visit.
