Driving through the area about noon on a Tuesday and I thought "BBQ ... I haven't had and good BBQ for a long time". I stopped and walked up to the window and was shocked ... yes, I knew prices were high, but I didn't think they had gone as high as Big Daddy was asking. So I thought "Do I really want to pay almost $30 for a lunch plate? But it is BBQ and at the prices they are asking, it must be really good! So I ordered ... 2 Beef Ribs and 2 sides, 1. Macaroni with Cheese and 2. Beans. About 5 minutes later, I was presented with a heavy Styrofoam Carton and a plastic fork. I found a table outside, opened up the carton and found ... surprise, surprise ... 3 Beef Ribs, the sides and a slice of Bread. I'm an older guy with problems gnawing down on a Rib so I took one of the Ribs and used the plastic fork to remove the heavily coated with BBQ sauce Rib and noticed that there wasn't much meat. I tried to cut the meat best I could with the plastic fork, and had to use my fingers to tear it apart (I did this on all three Ribs). There was a small amount of fat, but the meat part was very thin, apparently cooked too long. I ate it but their wasn't much meat there at all. I suspect that it had been cooked a previous day and had been sitting in (I'm not sure, maybe) a pressure cooker to keep it warm but had been there much too long and lost most of it's good meat. The Ribs were beyond disappointing ... they were horrible. Included with the meal were the two sides. The Beans were OK. By OK, they weren't much better or much worse than what is served at most BBQ places ... they were very average. The Macaroni and Cheese, however was overcooked, brown in color like it had been sitting cooking and was slightly burned and, I'm sure, had been sitting keeping warm in some pot for, who knows, days? I don't live in San Jacinto, not even in the Hemet area, but I do get down to the area, maybe on average, once a month. I WILL NOT EVER STOP AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN. And I advise both locals and visitors to not eat at this location. Let them fail. They deserve to do so. read more

This place is usually good but I haven't been here in about a year or so. I got the Fam Bam on MLK day. It was the worst bbq plate I've had in a while. I was so disappointed. The meats had a weird unpleasant odor to them and the sides were disgusting. Those yams and greens needed to be thrown away and the mac n cheese was mushy. It seemed like the person that normally cooks well was not there that day or something. Yuck. When you own a restaurant, you can't leave it to just anyone to tend to. They may not have the passion and know-how that you do. I'm not sure if this is what happened at Big Daddys, but the food quality and flavor has definitely changed since my last visit. Ok NO! I ordered 1 "gigantic" turkey leg NOTHING is gigantic about it! & they don't add no salt, seasoning nothing to it. How you waste a piece of meat like that? How you just throw meat on the grill with no seasoning or some type of salt! It absolutely NEEDED the 1tsp of bbq sauce they added once that 2 dips ended I was done with the leg. I then ordered 1/2 lbs of brisket. Never have I ordered brisket and it came Shredded!!! Sml they added a 1/2 tsp of bbq on top and that was it. The brisket was ok nothing to brag about. The bbq was really good. Although I didn't really like the sides I still gave it 4 stars because the bbq made up for the taste. The yams were a bit runny and a bit bland but seemed to have lots of sugar the Mac and cheese seemed as though the cheese didn't mix with the noodles so it was an odd texture. But again the bbq was the start of this dish. Maybe you'll have a different experience and next time I'll try different sides! The customer service was great and the kool aid was good as well. Ordered food via GrubHub for delivery. Food was mediocre at best. Ordered a three meat platter: pork rib, pulled pork, and brisket. I'm not sure if we received the brisket or not, as the pulled pork seemed like a large amount, but there wasn't much difference between that and the brisket (if the brisket was there). The potato salad was good, but the cole slaw was very peppery. Asked for the bread to packaged separately, but it came on the meat and was soggy by the time the food arrived. I've passed this place for at least 4 years and for no good reason, never stopped in UNTIL TODAY! I'm so glad that I did and I will definitely be back! We tried a bit of nearly everything they had to offer. Pork ribs had a nice little tug and a flavorful sauce on em, the link was ok, the pulled pork was delicious, but the bell ringer for me was the CATFISH!! Hot damn that catfish was just about the best I've had in years. Only time I had better was at my Auntie Fey's in NOLA! Drive-thru or walk up service at a small building so not much in that regard but the food is amazing. Service was a bit slow but we stopped at a very busy time and everyone was hustling to get orders out. Tables under shades are provided to find while it's hot but many customers picked up and drive away. Highly recommend and look forward to my next visit. read more

Spur of the moment crave for BBQ Ribs and I was not disappointed! Spotted this place by accident one day and finally decided to try them out. The Place? Clean at least from what I can see from the drive thru. Also I went at night and the place is very well-it. The Peeps? I only had the honor of dealing with the man in the drive through that took my order (and money) as well as the gentleman that delivered our order to our car. Both were super nice! The Food? So far so good right... well it gets better! We got the Pulled Pork Plate, 2 Rib Plates and a Half Slab of Ribs. I was told that the pulled pork was very good and something I'll need to try someday but I got one of the 2 rib plats and the ribs were cooked perfectly and the sauce??? The sauce was excellent!!! They even through in a little yellow pepper which added a little extra fire if you want it and yes I did, thank you very much! Okay the sides were potato salad and beans.
