This place is a dive and not friendly. Occasional under the table deals going down. Would not recommend for any sensitive soul.

All the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The tomato bisque was exceptional! Terry, the cook, came out and said hello, asking me how I liked the meal. I let him know that I'm a trained chef, and his meal was fabulous! The waitress said he's worked there for 15 years, that his specialty is prime rib, served every Saturday. I will definitely be back for that. This bar has been here 85 years, and I moved here 30 years ago but had never been here till this evening. I'm guessing the food here is better than most of the restaurants in Wenatchee. The decor is plain and simple. The ambience is what you would expect in a local bar with a long history and a loyal local clientele. Nonetheless, the service was excellent and the staff was friendly. Even being charged a 4% credit card processing fee, food pricing is better than other restaurants. So are the quality and portion sizes. New tables and chairs with cushioned seating fill two dining rooms. And there is plenty of offstreet parking. All things considered, it's worth the 20 minute drive from Wenatchee down to Rock Island, just to enjoy the food and the drinks. I don't think anyone gets turned away here. What's not to like? This was a five star experience for me.

I rarely give 5 stars but there was nothing that could have been better. The service was spot on,…read morefriendly and timely. I ordered the steak and prawns. It's not El Gaucho but it wasn't $100 either. Very good. My wife had a burger and it was excellent. Sweet potato fries were great. Good value and very good meal. Will definitely go back and highly recommend.

As I waited for my tacos I saw the broasted chicken and Jo Jo's come out, gotta get next time. Looked delicious. The burgers looked great. TVs everywhere, great music, area for families so it caters to everybody. Lastly, great service by the two bartenders I had. Attentive and on top of their game. Can't wait to come back. Slushy drink is money.

Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience this time. We like to sit in the bar area. It was slow when we wandered in and sat at the bar, but the bartender seemed bored and completely unenthused. She took our drink order and then disappeared for a while. A group of locals sitting nearby were singing loudly to the speaker music. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying--they might have been over-served. We actually had to ask someone else to order an appetizer: the Pimento dip. The dip itself was delicious, but the accompanying veggies were a little slimy. The dish looked beautiful initially, but we couldn't eat some of the vegetables because they weren't fresh. Anyway, it's a shame. Based on this experience, we probably won't be back.

The bartenders are always nice and welcoming--they treat you like family (the non-judgmental kind). Our well cocktails are always pleasantly strong; they don't water down your sorrows here. We tried appetizers a year or so ago, mostly deep-fried foods, which perfectly match the decor. If you're looking for a place where everyone knows your name and the drinks are strong enough to forget the decade you're in, this locals-only haunt is your spot. Newcomers welcome, but don't expect a wine list.

A separate bar and gaming room was louder, with laughter and pool tables--another level of enjoyment. The crowd is mainly locals who frequent the Igloo, an obvious watering hole for repetitive friendships. My steak was delicious, supple, and cooked perfectly. Their steaks come packaged individually and grilled to order. The fries were hot and the salad was crunchy. albeit piled with cheese--that pairing was questionable. All-in-all however, a pleasant meal at a good price ($22 total, including the beer)! They'll see me again!
