Great service from a friendly server. His friendliness made me realize how just a 3 minute conversation about fishing (or whatever) is all it takes to feel welcomed and appreciated by a business. Walked in and were "greeted" by a man who said he had no seat for us and he couldn't even put an estimate on how long the wait would be. A friendly patron overheard and mentioned they were leaving, got their tab and paid immediately opening up a spot for us. Relieved as we had the whole family with us and were hot and tired from a long day at the lake we took our seats. We then proceeded to sit there with not so much as a greeting or a menu for 20 minutes while 4 servers danced around avoiding eye contact with us. Had such a great experience at Stormy Mountain Brewing & Local Public House! Ashley was amazing she was literally working the whole floor by herself and still gave everyone great service with a smile. My favorite drink was the applesox red cider so good and refreshing. My husband ordered the brisket and really enjoyed it, and the fries were truly amazing. You can tell they make their sauces in house, which made everything even better. There's street parking available, and the overall vibe is very chill, spacious, and welcoming. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to! read more

Husband had a beer that they brewed. Sorry, I'm not a beer drinker so I don't know what he had even though he told me. He seemed to think it was fine, I had a San Juan Huckleberry Seltzer. One of my favorites - possibly my absolute favorite! It came with a cold frosted glass which I appreciated. We shared a pretzel that came with some weird cheese. Tasted like cheese whiz. Pretzel was great! Cheese not so much. These guys need to invest in Beechers. It will make all the difference! Still good though because it's all about the pretzel! Nice people work here. Came here for a quick drink while we were waiting for our pizza. We were able to get a table quickly and our waitress was very attentive at first. Inside has a decent amount of seating. She took our order for our drinks and appetizers we ordered very early. Our drinks were brought out promptly. We ordered a pub pretzel and potstickers to hold us over before dinner. The food had still not come out after about 30 minutes and she had not come to say anything about the status of our appetizers. I finally asked and she said they would be out soon. We stopped by to have some lunch and this place definitely didn't disappoint! We had a group of 6, and we were quickly seated and our waitress got us a couple of pitchers of ice water right away! I almost always ask what the server's favorite thing on the menu is, and our waitress didn't hesitate to share that her favorite was "hands down" the brisket French dip. She also shared that the fish tacos were out of this world and the pretzel would also be a good choice. Well, my daughter didn't have to be persuaded to order a pretzel, and my husband decided to get the brisket dip, and to round out the order, I figured I would try the fish tacos--and O.M.G. Soooo good! Let's just say it was a perfect marriage of fresh and flavorful! My husband and I had planned on sharing half and half, but we loved our own so much that we decided to finish what we started. The only thing we would caution you is that the dip is a little messy...it's made with chunks of brisket, not sliced, so it is a little tricky to keep it together--but delicious, nonetheless! Seeking french fries...walked in and asked the waitress if they were on the menu, the reply was the best in town! Called my friend over, we were seated by a very friendly staff member. Ordered a glass of local wine and the poutine fries with chicken. The waitress was absolutely correct the fries were the best. They are thinly sliced crisp potatoes, the sauce was tasty , chicken chunks moist. Our server was so personable and friendly. The place is rustic , consists of outdoor tables, indoor booths, a couch area..cozy. It must be a town favorite as I spotted families in for lunch. So it does pain me to have to write a negative review, but people need to know a big issue before they make the same mistake my cousin did. Electronic gift certificates. Do not buy them! As a gift, knowing I liked the restaurant, a cousin bought me a $75 gift certificate. They walked in to Stormy, bought the certificate from Hailey and had it electronically delivered to me... Or so they thought... A week later my cousin asked if I had received it to my email address. Nope. Not even in Spam. They showed me the receipt and it was indeed supposedly mailed to the correct address. Since then, I have attempted FOUR phone calls and THREE walk-ins to find anyone who can help with this issue. Nope. The wait staff has been nice, each time saying they have forwarded my issue (I've even provided a copy of the receipt) to management and they'll get a hold of me right away... One even mentioned they knew there was a known issue with this electronic service! But still nope. No contact has been made on this whatsoever. It it's been over a month. So disappointing concerning behavior of upper management. I'll keep calling and checking in, more just to humor myself to see how long it honestly takes for one simple contact to be made back to me from management. Kid friendly with both high chairs and booster seats available. Staff were super friendly and attentive. It wasn't too busy so our food arrived quickly. Chill brewery with a good mix of people. Got lunch my first time in Chelan, had the Cubano and a Duskbound to wash it down, both were delicious. All three house made sauces were wonderful as well, being from the Carolinas it felt like a taste of home. Went here for the first time. There was 5 of us in our party. Their beer is mediocre at best. The food was not so good. We had the brisket sandwiches which were just ok. The fries were really salty that we couldn't eat it. The service was terrible. We waited at least an hour between our appetizers and our meals. During that hour, no one checked on us. They didn't ask if we wanted more drinks and our water glasses were never topped off the entire time. Servers were not friendly and didn't even apologize about the slow service. The fish tacos here are amazing. Easily the best I've ever had. The problem is their customer service is absolutely garbage. I've had three consecutive bad experiences here but keep coming back for the fish tacos. That's on me. Nothing like sitting there for 20 to 30 minutes without being acknowledged. This is a newer place in downtown Chelan and my grandparents took me because they said the tacos were really good. The inside is cute and has lots of seating, they also have outdoor seating. The staff was super friendly. To start, they only have beer and wine no full bar or hard liquor. However, most of their beer and wine is local, which I love. I had the pear cider and was the first person to order it. It was delicious. It tasted like warm apple cider but pear flavored. It was cold but I say it reminded my of warm cider because it had hints of cinnamon in it, very good. You also get an entire 40 of it! For food, my grandparents and I started with the pretzel with cheese. Hands down the best pretzel I've ever had. To start, it was HUGE. It was so fluffy and perfectly salted and the cheese/queso was amazing. The cheese wasn't spicy but still very flavorful. For dinner we all had tacos with different meats. I had the fish tacos and the reason I'm giving 4 stars is because they were okay. The fish was fried and they had a decent amount in all the tacos (comes with 3) they're just not authentic. Still yummy and will come again. They also come with verde salsa on the side, which is good but not spicy. My grandpa had the pork tacos with shredded pork. Was staying in Wenatchee and decided to go for a drive to Chelan with the kids. It was a beautiful day so why not, right? After checking out the lake a bit, kids and I started to get a little hungry. Quick glance on Yelp and saw this brewery pop so I figured it would be a great spot to sit and relax and grab a bite before heading back to Chelan. Son ordered the Mac n Cheese (shocker), daughter ordered the Pretzel and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Although the pork was tender, it could have been warmer. The pretzel was fairly large and tasty. Apparently the Mac n Cheese was good because my son ordered seconds. The staff was friendly. Although the food (at least mine) could have been a little warmer, I will most likely try this place out again next time I'm in Chelan. read more

Stormy Mountain needs to decide what it is - and commit to it. It hints at BBQ with tasty brisket tacos and sandwiches and a table full of BBQ sauce. But with no serious BBQ plate, you're left scratching your head. Burgers are decent but the paper thin sliced steak fries are odd. They've got pretzels and wings but oddities like chicken potstickers and fried fish tacos. Then there's corn bread and macncheese and chili - wait, is this a BBQ joint or not? Beer is ok - my IPA was merely good not great. If this were my place, I'd lean into the BBQ side. Chelan doesn't really have a dedicated BBQ joint and this place should perfect it's BBQ aspirations or just go pub food. Life's to short to be average at everything rather than brilliant at a few. read more

Local here. Made a few attempts to come here with the hope of good experiences but have frequently get met with subpar service. Let me mention I never wish anything bad on anyone or any business (especially local), but to have bad experiences happen the times I come in are either by my bad luck or by habit. One time around covid, went to cash out waiting in the cold outside since seating was limited inside. We received the bill and waited a 1/2 hour for them to come out with the machine to cash out, but they never did so I had to go inside to do it. Next time, walked in the door waiting to be seated. Had one waitress say she would be right with us. Waited and waited and after close to 10 minutes, walked out even when staff were walking past us. Yesterday, came in to watch the game, got a seat right away and wanted to put our order in but over 5 minutes and received no service or acknowledgement. I was not in a hurry but would have been nice to at least be known that someone would be right with us. Finally, the waitress came in as our actual waiter was *busy*. She took our order and was great. Received our drinks and food and was fine. I asked for small plates and the guy seemed unfriendly about it. Brought the plates not saying a word and had a very uncomfortable vibe like we were a problem to request this. After eating and our beers glasses were empty, waited for another round but our "waiter" kept walking by not acknowledging us, asking how the food is or if we wanted refills, etc. after the 3rd time he walked by our table, just decided we had enough. He finally came by after waiting close to 8 minutes with empty glasses asking us for another round. Cashed out and left unhappy. I do rideshare locally, and people ask where to go for food and drinks. I'm reminded again why I have a hard time mentioning this place with these types of instances but it's the only place in town that has inconsistent service. I get it, good workers are hard to find in this small town, but it can be so much better. read more

Great catering options for larger groups!!! As anyone familiar with Chelan knows finding a restaurant to provide food for larger groups is a challenge. Many do not offer take out/catering or do not have convenient hours, not open or closed during the week. Recently used Stormy Mountain for a corporate retreat. They have several catering options, easy to work with (Callie Bell) was great, food is good and they provide a ton of it. Highly recommend! We will definitely be using them again for large family gatherings or corporate events. read more
