We were heading to Seven Seas in South Park for coffee and saw this pop up outside. Apparently they are here every other weekend - but we are hella glad that we got a bite while we waited for our coffee. We got their Deluxe Breakfast Sandwich and their Breakfast Burger. Guys when I tell you each one SLAPPED I mean it. Both were smash sandwiches and were so flavorful it took me to breakfast heaven. Alberto one of the owners was there and the service was so fast and friendly. And it was rad seeing that they just really enjoyed doing this and it shows in the food and the flavors. This place is a must for some tasty food. Found out they are generally in National City at Over the Tent by the chick-fil-a and then at Seek Beer in North Park every Saturday. Will def go out of our way to get another tasty breakfast in the near future!

Where do I start? These are some of the best burgers and fries made by 2 of the most humble people I have met. These two are foodies first and foremost, they know exactly how you want a smash burger! Crispy crunch from the patty to the last bite! The specialty secret sauce is delicious and a must try! (20x better than canes sauce) If you are lucky and they have the big dawg fries that's one one of my favorite things they offer after the burger. The service is always amazing they are always smiling and happy to help! They are strategically located around some of the best breweries in San Diego so if you like a beer and a burger! All the bars are extremely popular in the local scene and spacious! ¹⁄

Deluxe breakfast from Big Dawg Burger and delicious marcha from Seven Seas my two favorite places

Now they are serving breakfast sandwiches outside Seven Seas in South Park. Same great flavor as their burgers 10 out of 10. They are there every other Sunday.

Big dawg fries and big dawg hickory burger

An amazing experience in every bite! I tried the hickory burger and was blown away by its exceptional flavor. The fries were crispy, and the sauce was simply delicious. I highly recommend this place to all burger lovers. Customer service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure you're satisfied. You won't be disappointed! I discovered this gem in an IG review, and I couldn't be happier

The service is good but I only feel that the people that have helped me in the past possibly act a bit indifferent and even if you try to be friendly, they could come across as distant. I really wanted to like Cali O Burger, but unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing…read moreburger experiences I've had in a long time--especially for the price. Let's start with the burger itself. The patty was clearly a thin, frozen, mass-produced patty, the kind you'd recognize instantly if you've ever shopped at Costco. There was nothing fresh, juicy, or crafted about it. It was dry, overcooked, and flavorless, and whatever seasoning they use didn't help. For a place branding itself around burgers, this was a huge letdown. The bun-to-burger ratio was completely off. Way too much bread and not nearly enough meat. Every bite felt like chewing through a sponge just to find a sliver of beef hiding inside. A good burger should be about balance--this one felt like a bun sandwich with an afterthought of meat. Now the price: $15 for a single burger like this is honestly hard to justify. At that price point, I expect fresh patties, proper thickness, and at least some attention to quality. What I got felt more like fast-food quality at sit-down restaurant prices. The tater tots were the final straw. They were so aggressively salty they were basically inedible. Not "seasoned," not "savory"--just overwhelmingly salty to the point where we couldn't finish them. Overall, Cali O Burger is overpriced and underwhelming. If you're charging premium prices, the food needs to back it up. Sadly, this place doesn't come close. I won't be returning.

We were seated in a shaded area with plenty of space around us, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and unhurried--perfect for actually enjoying good food and conversation. A huge part of what made our visit so memorable was our server, Carina. She struck that rare balance of being genuinely warm and personable while also staying incredibly attentive. She was outgoing without being overwhelming, kind in a way that felt natural, and had a great sense of humor that made us feel instantly at ease. Carina was also very knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful suggestions without any pressure. She checked in at just the right moments and made sure we had everything we needed, all while keeping the vibe light and fun. You can tell she really cares about creating a good experience, and it shows. For food, I ordered the smash burger with onions and lettuce served in a corn tortilla, along with a side of jicama. The burger itself was flavorful and satisfying, with flavorful juiciness you want from a smash burger. The onions added a nice savory depth, while the lettuce gave it a fresh crunch that balanced everything out. Serving it in a corn tortilla was a great twist--it made the whole dish feel a bit lighter while still being super filling, and added a subtle, warm corn flavor that tied everything together really well. The jicama on the side was crisp, refreshing, and slightly sweet--an ideal contrast to the richness of the burger. My friend went with a salad and an IPA, and both were a hit. The salad looked fresh and well put together, and they couldn't stop talking about how good it tasted. The IPA paired perfectly--cold, crisp, and exactly what you'd want alongside a light but flavorful meal. Overall, everything just worked--the food, the atmosphere, and especially the service. Carina really elevated the experience and made us feel taken care of in a way that's hard to come by. I'll definitely be back.

It's always popping up as one of the best burgers in San Diego. The vibe in the place was cool. Bustling and music blasting. I look around for the menu. Not easy to find. I guess it's one of those "if you know you know" but then I saw a small chalkboard that listed the burger and a tiny printout pizza menu way in the back. I order a burger and coke. So pumped to try it. I ask for no onions and the guy at the register immediately cops a huge attitude like I ruined his day. He points at the chalkboard and says "no substitutions". I reply "no biggie! I can scrape em off or something" dude looks pissed and says "they're hard to scrape off" I know reading this I may sound unreasonable. Maybe dude was having a bad day. But the way he was looking and speaking to me made me want to walk away from the counter not bother ordering. If you are great at burgers but not customer service maybe stay off the register and stick to the grill. My friend with me goes "not very friendly for a place called the friendly" so it wasn't just me. The burger comes out. Honestly I'd bet on a good day it's great. But today it wasn't. Overly greasy. Ironically all of the onions slid right off so I'm not sure why he feels it would be too difficult for me to remove myself. The burger could barely stay in the bun it was so greasy. The aioli spread was all on one side of the burger and it was a mess. I'm not sure if maybe this place used to be great and since has declined, or if the staff was just having such an off day that it reflected in the effort of the food. Or if the guy just had some issue and felt like taking it out on us today. But needless to say. There's plenty of amazing smash burger places in San Diego. Excited to try somewhere else.

What I ordered: * The Bonehead Burger (3/5): the burger itself was a decent size, but the BBQ sauce was a little too heavy for my taste, and the hamburger patty didn't have much seasoning. There was just a little too much going on flavor-wise, and nothing really stood out about it for me. * Fries (5/5): the fries were honestly incredible. I liked that their cheddar cheese wasn't salty unlike other places. The burger was pretty good and I like that they used fresh lettuce and tomatoes.
