I've been coming here for years, but I don't come that often maybe once a year or once a year and a half. I always forget about this hidden gem. They have everything and everything's pretty good. I think the reason I don't come so often is because of the parking and if you come during the dinner or lunch rush, it does get pretty busy. The chicken salad is so good, it's probably my favorite thing to get here. I do also like the fries. Really disappointed this time around. I've been coming to this place for a couple of years and usually enjoy it. This time I ordered the Canada steak burger with gyro, and it just missed the mark. The buns were falling apart, the meat had almost no flavor, and there were literally only two small pieces of gyro on the burger. It also tasted like the mustard was only on one side. French fries were good. The service was good. Parking still sucks. I stopped by on a Monday around 7:30 PM. There were a handful of people waiting on orders and one table outside already eating so it was definitely busy for a weeknight. It's a casual, laid back spot. They have a tv with the news on for you to watch while you wait or eat...CNN unfortunately was the channel on. You order at the counter, but you can also call ahead or use the app, which I'd recommend. My wait was only about 10 minutes so it wasn't bad at all. The weather was nice so I grabbed a seat outside and ate there. There was plenty of street parking when I went, but then again it was a Monday. The employee who helped me was super friendly. Service was excellent. I ordered the: *6oz Steakburger: I'll be honest, I didn't really understand the hype. The bun tasted like a basic grocery store potato bun, and the burger itself reminded me of something you'd get at a typical fast food spot. Small, flat patty that wasn't juicy, flavorful, and didn't have that wow factor. For about $12 after tip, it just didn't feel worth the price. There are definitely better burgers out there for less. Overall, the service was great and it was a quick in-and-out experience. I'd consider coming back to try something else on the menu, but the burger just didn't do it for me. read more

Buyer Beware. Do Not Purchase a Canada Steak Burger gift card. It is worthless and will not be honored. I purchased a $ 50 gift card from Canada Steak Burger for my son's birthday on 5/31/26. Canada Steak Burger emailed the gift card to my son on 6/5/26. My son attempted to use the gift card at Canada Steak Burger's 3604 University Avenue location that weekend but was refused. Using Canada Steak Burgers website on line contact form I informed Canada Steak Burger of this problem the following week of 6/8 and never received a response. Having received no response on 6/28/28 I again used their website on line contact form to explain the gift card and refusal problem to which I received no response. On 7/2/26 I called Canada Steak Burger at its 409 Telegraph Canyon Road location. I was told they could not help me obtain my refund and to call their University Avenue location to obtain the refund. I called the University Avenue location and they told me they could not help me get my refund and to call their Chula Vista location. read more

This is one of those restaurants where everybody & yet nobody knows about it because it's kept on the downlow it's so good I grew up in Riverside eating at The Mad Greek so I was super stoked to find this place. The menu has everything but the best part are the people taking your order and cooking it up. Their happiness & love goes into preparing that food. It's the reason why it's so delicious & why they have returning customers. I'm talking a real "Like Water For Chocolate" situation going on here. The beautiful woman taking my order was super sweet & took my order super quick. The handsome chefs were as happy as can be I got #1 Gyros & Souvlaki & damnit it was so good I can't even wait to go back. The gyros were so flavorful & tender just melted in my mouth. I didn't even bother with the tzatziki sauce. It didn't need it. The pita was soft and yummy. The salad was fresh and crisp. The souvlaki was ridiculously flavorful & tender. My first thought was Yes I would order the steak next time that's how good it was Anyways check this place out. I can't wait to go back. Parking is limited and the inside dining area has a couple of seats. The staff were very friendly and I got my order in decent amount of time although they were pretty busy. I got the buffalo wings with the chicken kabob and shrimp plate with the side salad. The portion of the plate was enough for two people to share. I have to give Canada 5 stars because I have been coming here since 1999, when Moussa and his Dad were in the back cooking. Sadly prices have gone up while the quantity has gone down. I've noticed the containers are now shallow and the pieces of the meat on the kabobs have gotten smaller and smaller. It's no longer worth it to pay $20 for a burger/sandwich, fries, and a drink no matter how good that 6 oz. deluxe with bacon or gyros is. Not to mention they now charge a fee to use cards when most people don't carry cash. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I tried this place for the first time and ended up with ketchup that tasted and smelled exactly like Fabuloso cleaner. I'm not exaggerating--I've accidentally gotten a tiny bit of Fabuloso on my lips before while cleaning, and this was the exact same strong, distinctive soapy/chemical taste and smell. I told the lady at the register, she told the kitchen staff in Spanish (I understand Spanish), and they actually tasted the ketchup themselves and agreed it tasted like soap. So it wasn't just me. What really upset me was that they refused to give me a refund even after admitting it was off. We had already eaten some of it and started feeling weird about basically ingesting cleaner. We don't have a lot of money, so we couldn't just leave we had to wait for new food and eat there anyway, which felt horrible and embarrassing knowing something was wrong with their cleaning process. Now, hours later, my mouth is dry and tingly and I feel a little queasy. I'm watching my symptoms and might have to see a doctor if it doesn't go away. I didn't record anything because I figured they'd just refund me and I could go, but I'm sure the cameras caught me complaining, them tasting it and agreeing, and me returning the ketchup dispenser (they gave us packet ketchup after that). I've never left a review like this before, but this felt really unsafe and they didn't take it seriously at all. Please be careful if you eat here--something is off with how they clean their condiment bottles. I just want others to know and hopefully get this fixed. read more
