We sat at the bar and the bartender is beyond lovely. She was very sweet, warm and welcoming. I got an "adult" cherry limeade and my husband got a glass of the smal batch Hochatown whiskey. Both were fantastic. My limeade was both tart with a hint of sweetness- very refreshing and exactly what I wanted after a hike. To start we got the fried mushrooms, they were hot and fresh and delicious! Not too overly bartered and super juicy. I got ranch and my husband got bbq sauce and both are delicious- you can tell they're both made in house! The bbq sauce has a hint of spiciness that we loved. We split the Yard Bird half portion spicy and it was HUGE. Great portion and great flavor!! Super juicy and not overly spicy. We got it with fries, beans and an extra side of fried okra. All I can say is that they're all fantastic and it was exactly what we were hoping for. Very casual place but it was exactly what we were lookin for. Great for couples and families. Go check it out!!

We went to Hochatown Saloon on a Monday around noon for lunch. It was pretty quiet, so we were…read moreseated right away with no wait. Right off the bat, their draft beer machine wasn't working, so we stuck with water and a soda. After being seated, there was a noticeable delay before our waitress came back. She explained she was dealing with an issue on another customer's credit card, which slowed things down. We started with the fried pickles. They were very good. Crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked right, but the portion felt a little light for an appetizer. For the main, we shared the Oklahoma country fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. That was the highlight. The steak had a solid crust with good flavor, and everything on the plate was done right. No complaints there. Overall, the food was strong, especially the country fried steak, but the service and the draft beer situation held it back some. If they tighten that up, it'd be a much better experience.

The drinks were okay and very average - it wouldn't keep us away or bring us back! As an appetizer, we had the fried Swiss cheese. It was definitely different and interesting in comparison to your mozzarella, but it was cool to try! I wouldn't reorder. My husband had a 8oz. Sirloin with a side of corn and I had the chicken tenders with fries. The chicken tenders were delicious, but the frozen crinkle cut fries dampened the whole meal - for almost $20 for chicken tenders, I would've loved some house made or hand battered fries! The rolls with each meal were good, but could've used some butter! The steak was well cooked and the corn had good flavor! Everything was mediocre overall, we would likely come back on account of the chicken tenders, but wouldn't run back for anything else.

On the good side, he's been back multiple times. Although as I'm writing this, he hasn't been back in a while. Ambiance It's a casual steakhouse. The place is not busy for a Saturday night. But food service was slow. Food The quality here has dropped quite a bit since our last visit. Some of the produce on the salad bar was frozen. The croutons tasted bad, the tomatoes tasted like onions. The grilled chicken had a good taste albeit overly seasoned. The accompanying rice pilaf was satisfactory. The petite steak had a good taste, but there was a big section that was just fat. Overall I don't know what's happening here. The overall feeling and vibe is way off. There is an overall feeling of lacking. Lacking quality on the salad bar. True, produce should be chilled. But not frozen. The staff overseeing the salad bar either is absent or just does not care. On the bright side. The music their playing tonight is wonderful. 70's stuff. Sounded very good. Military Yes, with id.
