My husband ordered the 5 bone dinner and was totally disappointed, the cornbread was sand dry on the inside with a wet top, the mac&cheese was oil saturated, the coleslaw was saturated in dressing filling half the container with liquid, the ribs were burnt dry on the outside with a string like texture on the ends and undercooked at the bone. Wow. The Akron food scene is really stepping up there game. My only minor disappointment was there was not any sweet potatoes the menu. But that's ok because everything else was amazing. This restaurant sure knows how to feed their customers. Everything my partner and I ordered was generously portioned. We got the ribs and the burnt ends and were surprised at the amount we received. The meat is juicy and the sauce is tangy yet sweet. The sides we're good, definitely better than the other BBQ joints in the area but I wouldn't say the best i've had. The standout food here is definitely the meat. Ooooh I'm craving the burnt ends just typing about them. Someone could definitely just order the burnt ends for $5 and be more then full. You can smell how amazing this place is from your car. I am so, so glad I actually went in after months of driving passed this fine establishment. Carry out only, but there is a spacious wait area to sit in while you wait for your order (you can also call ahead!). The whole staff is super friendly and you can really get the "family" vibe. They like to crack jokes and just make you feel really welcomed. I ordered the pulled pork dinner (comes with two sides and a drink). Both our meals came on foil sheets and we were able to place the meals (minus lemon wedge and condiments) in our air fryer to reheat when we got the 8 miles home. Seafood was hot and juicy, fries crisped up and hush puppies were crunchy outside and creamy inside. Tried to order just the perch so we could try all three, but it is full meal or nothing. Cole Slaw was nice, but the tiny cups were half full. If you are a slaw fan try to get an additional side or be ready with your own. I was very disappointed, since in the past, I have been a fan. Let's start with the online ordering, which wasn't working. The website is horrible & I couldn't find a menu that I was sure was current. I called to order & was immediately told to hold. I was on hold for 20 minutes when I eventually hung up because I no longer even cared to see how long they would have me hold or if they would even pick back up. We then decided to drive there. We pulled in the parking lot & there was one person waiting, so they didn't appear busy. The phone rang when we were there, they were told to hold & the girl never did pick it back up, even though she was not busy. They were out of brisket, so I got the pulled pork. The portion was generous, but the barbecue sauce was very runny & had no flavor. The mac & cheese was very dry. The collard greens were good. They almost forgot the extra sauce that I paid for & didn't include the napkins that we requested. I will say that you received a lot of food for the price, but it just wasn't good enough that I even will eat the leftovers. The girl working was friendly & tried to make conversation, but I am sure a good number of customers were lost because of her ignoring the phone customers. I don't think that I will be back. My husband and my self went here because his coworker told him the BBQ here was awesome. For two people you thought we ordered enough food for a family of six, swear! My hubby is greedy, not me! I ordered a polish boy with there sweet sauce and a side comes with it. So I tried the fried corn. Now, the husband I don't what appetite he was tripping on. He ordered a polish boy with a side fries. He ordered a chicken wrap with a side of collard greens. He ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and a pineapple upside down cake. Now, in his defense, he did take much of this to work for his lunch the next day. The polish boys were very good and all of the side dishes were very tasty and flavorful. My husband said the pulled pork was pretty tasty. It didn't have a lot of that fat and gristle, which he complains that many restaurants leave in. He was pleased that the chicken wrap held up for his lunch and was a fried chicken breast and grilled. I tried Big Eu'es after seeing a ton of positive comments on a Facebook Group. I decided to try it for myself. Let me tell you, this is the best barbecue I have ever had. I have tried all the wing flavors except the hot ones. They are all amazing. We have found we like the BBQ & mild the best. I tried the Mac and cheese, which I renamed crack & cheese because I'm addicted to it. The ribs fall off the bones and the sauce they make is good enough to drink. Trust me when I tell you there is never any sauce left on my plate. We tried all flavors of the KoolAid pie. Yum! I haven't had anything yet that I didn't love! The prices are very fair & the people are wonderful. They make you feel as though you're a close friend when you visit. Give them a try and you won't be sorry! read more

Overall, not bad for a bbq place in this area... Good: pulled pork is pretty solid, Smokey flavor is good on most of their meats, reasonable prices, mac n cheese, sauce is good. I've enjoyed the sides I've had except for the coleslaw. Again, sauce is good and I especially like their spicy sauce. Bad: most of the meat I've had here is too fatty. I know there is flavor in fat, but I've had a few meals to where it was inedible because it was so chewy. I've had that mostly with the brisket, but also the ribs. My wings were inedible. The breading was soggy and they were not crispy at all. Maybe some people like that style - I like crispy wings. Pulled pork sandwich is really soggy (I'd ask for the sauce on the side). read more

I am a huge fan of good barbeque and have always thought this area is lacking a place to acquire that. So I had been looking forward to the opening of Big Eu's BBQ for a little while now and made sure to put their grand opening in my calendar so I would not forget to visit. On my first visit I ordered a sampling of many of their menu items to get a good understanding of what they offer. On Fridays and Saturdays they smoke ribs and chicken quarters outside and they were both fantastic. The chicken was perfectly cooked and both had a deliciously smoky flavor. The ribs were not fall-off-the-bone tender but the flavor made them very enjoyable. Their every-day menu consists of pulled pork, pulled turkey, chicken breasts and wings. I ordered half a dozen of their wings and was pleasantly surprised at how fantastic they were. The sauce was delicious and they were meaty and juicy. The pulled pork sandwich was disappointing compared to everything else. I did not think it had the flavor or quality that the rest of the items I tried had. All of the sides were decent and the homemade bbq sauce was really good. I would definitely recommend visiting but you may wish to wait for the weekend to get the most delicious options. read more

I'm always on the look out for a good smoked brisket. Big Eu came through big time! I had a brisket sandwich. The brisket was so tender and full of flavor I didn't need any sauce. It was perfect paired with the soft bun. The smoke was thoroughly delicious and paired really well with the brisket. My partner ordered the pulled pork wrap with mild sauce and also had a good bite. Never again! This food was awful. The ribs were a strange pink color inside that looked completely raw but they somehow had the consistency of overcooked pork. They were so tough that they were basically inedible. It was so bad that 5 people struggled to finish even part of a half rack of ribs. It was like they were left in the smoker for way too long but at too low of a temperature. The brisket was also tough and it wasn't sliced across the grain like it should be. It had the consistency of bad roast beef at a wedding reception. The meat had a faint taste of lighter fluid. Since I'm forced to give at least one star I feel compelled to mention the highlight of the meal. The potato skin appetizer. That's not to say that they were really blowing my hair back.
