I'm so thankful for this massage place! They were able to get me in even without an appointment, which I really appreciated. The massage itself was excellent -- strong, deep work that really helped with my back pain. They were pretty busy when I came in, and since I didn't have a reservation, they asked if I was okay sharing a room. I didn't mind at all. There were people nearby talking in Chinese, which some might find distracting, but it didn't bother me since I was just focused on getting relief. While they didn't do the "walking on the back" technique like some other massage places, the therapist gave a deep enough massage that it felt great. I went many places for massage because of my work. I was introduced this place by one of my friends. She told me they are the best. I live in downtown Vancouver but I took a train and went there. It took 1.5hrs for me. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!! I paid hundreds dollars to fancy places in Vancouver. But I have never been satisfied. I live in Vancouver and visited my sister in her new home in Victoria earlier this month. We had the pleasure of visiting the Big Feet location on Fort Street. I have been a client of Big Feet for over 10 years, starting at one of its original locations on South Granville Street. In the hundreds of visits, I have never had a negative experience; rather I have always left the location (Granville, Victoria Drive, Kingsway, Hastings Street) feeling like the body massage, reflexology, was well worth it! Our experience at the Victoria location was definitely of the highest standard to date (and it takes a lot to improve upon my experiences in Vancouver). From the lovely manager, Linda, to therapists Jen and Carrie, we couldn't have asked for more. From the foot and body massage to the facial to the first experience of cupping for both of us, it was all wonderful. The introduction to cupping was an excellent experience and both of us will be doing that regularly from now on. The studio was beautiful - serene, immaculate, with every staff person down to the young man polishing the floors, wonderfully welcoming. But if you are looking to heal your weary feet in an inexpensive way, Big Feet fits that bill. Or shoe. Remember - reflexology is a different practice than just a regular "foot massage". My reflexologist was able to tell I was having some stomach problems just by pinpointing and putting pressure on a certain part of my foot! Yes, it's loud. Yes, the decor is a bit old and tacky. I have always heard good things about Big Feet, so my friend and I decided to give the $38 for 50 minute foot reflexology (which seemed like a good deal) a try. The ladies were very nice and accommodating, the massage was average, nothing special but it did feel pleasant, as any massage should. Everything was going alright, until the end. I don't know if it was because my friend and I looked young, or if it was because we told the ladies that it was our first time there, but when it got to the end when it was time to pay, we were first of all told that multiple times that we should have brought cash because if we tip by card, the company gets 20% of the tips. That is however, not my problem. If a company accepts both card and cash, then it shouldn't matter which you pay with. That was not the main issue though. After tax, the $38 amounted to $40. I tipped 10% and my friend tipped 15%, as we had not been there before, we didn't know what the customary "tip" percentage or amount was for a typical massage place. When I was finished paying, I heard the lady mumble to the other employee, "why did she only pay $4 in tip?" And the employee replied "she's probably gonna give more in cash." And then after paying, (I paid $4 in tip and my friend paid $6) we were told we had to pay $10 in tips for a $40 service. Embarrassed, we didn't know if that was the "norm" or not, so we were made to awkwardly insert our cards back and pay the extra $6 or $4 in tip that we were "missing." However, after leaving and evaluating the situation, we had realized that perhaps we were taken advantage of, because we essentially paid a 25% tip for poor treatment at the end, and tip means a gratuity, it's essentially a reward for a service, not a set amount. In fact, a tip is not necessary at all if the service was not adequate, and I can confidently say that I was very disappointed in the way they confronted us about that. My friend who also regularly goes to Big Feet told me that it the ladies shouldn't have done that and normally people don't tip thaA 25% "required" tip was definitely outrageous, nowhere did it say that we had to tip that much and the fact that they asked for it, it was almost as if they were bullying us into paying more. If anything it showcased to me their greed and I left very disappointed. *My friend and I went at approximately 2:20 in August 17th, 2018. I had Audrey (who was not involved in the tipping issue as she had another client in right after me and she left for her next session.) The lady who massaged my friend was one of the primary people involved though. We didn't catch her name but she had a very short haircut almost similar to a buzzcut. Quite skinny as well. We found this place off of a referral from a River Rock Casino employee. It was just a block from the SkyTrain, too. For my actual foot massage, I'd give my lady a 4 star as it was really good (when she was working) BUT....I can see why others give this place a 1-2 star. ALL the workers here talked to each other the WHOLE time. I wish I could understand Chinese so I could be entertained, too. Coz peeps were laughing and having straight up gossip sessions. It was like the Asian version of "beautyshop" or "barbershop". Luckily my husband and I were just so tired and in pain (from sight seeing the day before) that it didn't matter that my husband's technician answered and held a conversation on his cell phone during his time, and mine stopped mid rub to set up another station and move furniture. And then somebody was smoking in there! Or really, really close to the front door so our massage area smelled like smoke. It's not the "worst" place I've been too as it's relatively clean, but because it's so noisy and "busy" in there, it doesn't have a comfortable atmosphere. Would I come here again? I was abit disappointed. My left foot has been hurting for awhile now. My masseuse was just average. I suggested to her to use more pressure on my left foot but it felt like she had no strength. I knew that her finger was hurting bc she kept on rubbing it. A good foot masseuse should be able to tell that I have issues on my foot. Even I can feel the knots on my arch! She did not even try to get rid if it. She treated my left foot the same as my right. After my treatment, I didn't feel any difference. Felt like I wasted my money. I go here for cheapie foot reflexology or body massages. It's usually convenient to call ahead, although I have pretty much walked in and had a massage on short notice too. They try to promote relaxation with muted lighting and soft music, however it really depends on your masseuse - I've had completely quiet ones to ones who will chat with other masseuses in the room to ones that have tapped on their phone, to ones in between. I like Chinese deep tissue and if you tell them you was lots of pressure they do a good job. I go to Peter and he's awesome. Their male masseuse will always only massage you under a thin blanket. I got poisoned by medication, prescribed by Western Canadian doctor. (towards this was not first damage caused by Canadian doctors prescriptions...). I couldn't breath. Emergency -- no help. Family doctor -- no help. Walk in clinic -- no help. Like always, actually.... I did not want to live, because of this is impossible to want to live, if you can not breath properly, doesn`t matter how good all other sides of your life... In about 30 min of accupuncture from Dennis i started to feel better. 5-7 hours of accupuncture every day + 3 litres of Chinese herbs, prescribed by him and on 17th day i was able to start to work again 1-2 hours a day. In two month i could work 5 hours a day. It have passed 4,5 month since then. I am breathing, I am working, I live my life... and western medicine is considered a main and accupuncture is additional health treatment.... Mirracle? First such "mirracle" happened to me 28 years ago in Russia, where i was healed from severe eczema by Russion accupuncturist, who got his accupuncture education in China... decease never came back.... Over all the place is pretty good....it does get annoying when they sit there and talk in front of you and you can't understand what they are saying. But take this in consideration.....if you had to touch people's feet all day...and you had a friend beside you...you would be chatting too....it's not a glamouious job... I've been here twice and the massages have been pretty good. For a cheap massage place the facility is pretty nice. My one major gripe is they tell you how much to tip. Is that OK?? I feel it's not, but it's already so cheap so I didn't say anything. First time I had an hour massage and they told me minimum tip is $10. I thought maybe it was just that receptionist in particular, but I came back a second time for 1.5 hours and another receptionist said the tip is $15. I've never experienced this before except at certain restaurants but patrons are informed of the required tip amount ahead of time. Can anyone tell me if this is actually OK? read more

I had never had foot reflexology before and was a little nervous. My friend assured me I'd be fine but it could hurt in a good way so I was prepared for the worst. Alex Zhu started with a deep pressure neck, shoulder and back massage that was one of the best I've ever had. The pressure was firm, he got into the tight knots, stretched muscles I never knew I had and was sensitive to a neck injury I told him about. The foot reflexology was a very good experience. Who knew there were so many connections to pressure points in your feet that connect to the rest of your body? Honestly I had no idea but Alex did. Every time he hit a sensitive part he asked if it was ok and told me what it connected to. I really liked that. Terrible place. Appt was at 8pm. Made us wait until 8:30 saying they were so busy. Place was busy lots of people waiting looking also frustrated. I think they just say yes to all appts and make people wait. Short term thinking as we will never go back. Finally after waiting they brought us to a room. We were getting foot massages and they brought us to a body massage room and told one of us to go on the bed and another in the chair. It was a small tight dark room. We said no thanks and left.
