When people are not enjoying a massage session they will normally use words like; bad, not good, disappointing... however in my case, to describe my experience I will have to use much stronger words like; a nightmare, terrible, torture...
My experience started when my amazing wife surprised me for my birthday with one thing I like to do more than anything else - foot massage.
After reading good reviews (generally speaking) about this place, she decided to booked it there.
When I arrived at the place I needed to wait for nearly 10 minutes before someone even talked to me, but that was fine as I saw them all very busy and I know that it can happen in many other places. When finally my masseuse arrived he directed me to where I was supposed to sit, and went to bring the wooden bucket of warm water to clean my feet and keep them nice, soft, and ready for him to working on them. When I dipped my feet inside the water I was shocked and almost screamed as it was extremely HOT. Just for the record I love hot water but that was beyond hot, even for me. My masseuse was not very impressed from my reaction but ask me if I want him to add some cold water (my answer should have been obvious without even asking). After saying "Yes" he went and returned with a small jar of cooler water that's made things a little bit better and said: "enough, yes?!" Just to confirm that it is okay, but it felt as if he's doing me a favour. I told him that it is still hot but it is better and that I can probably get used to it eventually. It was definitely not a good start, but at this point I was still optimistic. Then he started.
I am a person that can tolerant a lot pain, but what he did to me was nothing less than a torture. The amount of force that a used was unbelievable and unbearable. At the first couple of minutes I did not say much (although it was obvious for my body language and facial expressions that I'm not comfortable for the amount of force he is using).I thought that that's is his technique and style, and perhaps after using a lot of force at the beginning it will get softer and nicer. However, not only that things did not get better, in fact, they gotten much worse. Right away I almost begged the guy to use less force and work a little bit softer. After each time that I asked him to reduce the amount of strength, he reduced it from 10/10 to 8/10 for a couple of seconds, and than back to do his thing. It was so bad that I started to sweat and couldn't sit still in my seat. At one point, I felt like what I need and want to do is to tell him something like: "Okay, you are done with one feet. That is good enough. I'll pay and go". But for some reason I decided to stay, thinking for myself perhaps he knows what he's doing. I thought, although it is the first time that I'm experiencing anything like that, if I'm suffering now, maybe tomorrow I will enjoy it and see that it was worth the pain (fining myself to optimistic or positive sometimes). In a different words, for whatever reason, I trusted him that he knows what he was doing.
I left with a very sore and painful feet, that only gotten worse in the next day.
Foot massage is one of my favorite things to do. I have a lot of experience trying that with many people, men and women all over the world. The experience that I had with this guy (that unfortunately I do not know his name) was by far the worse experience ever. I honestly don't know how the rest of the team there works, but if anyone works like him, not only that it is a waste of your money, it could also be a danger for some people's health.
I'm NOT recommending this place, and in particular for the smallest chance that you will get this gentleman as your masseuse. read more
