If I'm spending $500 on a bat, I absolutely want to see how effective it will be before purchasing. When we arrived, they had rented out the Hittrax for a BIRTHDAY PARTY. What??? It wasn't even a softball related party. It was a bunch of little kids playing kickball in a space that was designed to allow people to test pricey gear before buying. They should not be renting this space for ANYTHING. It should be available for what it is intended for. When we asked the staff to help us locate the bats we were looking for, they were too busy with their conversation to pay us any mind. They finally agreed to help but only for a minute or two. They went back to their gabbing while we tried, in vain, to pull bats from the top rung. When we finally looked through everything, the selection they had was fairly uniform with 5 or 6 bats in one length and drop and none in any other. It was annoying. What a horrific experience going to this corporate shill. In spite having a receipt for a return,…read morethe female Mgr refused to assist with a return claiming as I had no box, no return. I tried telling her the purchase did not include a box. She disappeared in back for about five minutes, returned, asked what brand the return was and proceeded to adjust clothing about 20 feet away, on her phone the entire time. She later informed me they would not take item back without box in spite of me telling her it came with no box. She suggested calling customer service but provided no pen or paper, just telling me what number to call. Customer service was 'understanding' but not helpful. I submitted a complaint against the manager who treated me like a pariah. My only option now is to contact the brand themselves. I got robbed, bottom line. So Much for the customer is always right. Stay away from Champs Sports Store in Newport Mall, Jersey City unless you want ro be robbed. FACTS.
