Called into the dealership at the recommendation of AAA and spoke with a young lady who told me she would talk with the shop manager and see if they could work me in. Came back on the line and said shop manager said to "come on" and when I arrived they met me with politeness and took the car into the shop. 15 minutes later they came into the waiting room to say it was ready! WOW, just WOW! You don't find that kind of service many places. I am so thankful for the way they helped me and how pleasant and caring they were. I lice out of state and they were the closest garage. the sheriff of the county highly recommended them. I heard nothing for 2 months. so I began calling for updates. I was told It needed new lug-nuts and a new wheel because it was bent but they could not find one. I called once every two weeks after that as I could not work without my vehicle. each time I called after the first call, I was met with a woman that huffed and sighed every time she heard my name and that I was still calling. she continually cut me off and spoke over me as well as my fiancé 4 months later (October), I called and she yelled over me it wasn't done and they couldn't find a wheel and that I could pick it up without it being finished. even though I was told it was undrivable. She said I could drive it fine with a bent wheel. just that I would need to torque my wheels every 100 MILES. No one is gonna wanna do that. so I contacted my local garage and they set it up to be towed. today, nearly 5 months later, they found my car dead dead in the lot beside their shop with lug nuts still missing and my battery drained. Seth, the mechanic laughed at this and slammed my keys down on the counter and tried to charge me a holding fee after I was told I would not have one. and began to raise his tone and talk over me when I said it was missing lug nuts. my mechanic picked my car up and said he found a wheel in no time and I also easily found multiple wheel replacements local to hillsville. I was also informed that it in fact was NOT safe to drive in the condition they said it was safe to drive in and that I was liable to WRECK. I was without my car almost 5 months and treated with such disrespect and my car was left in a field to drain and not be prioritized.

The needle went from 2k RPMs to 7k RPMs so fast and was dancing around continuously for miles. It was revving so fast out of nowhere and I could tell something was wrong with my engine. Got off an exit to get gas and check and could immediately smell the clutch burning. The gas station attendant told me about Bert's, which was luckily only 1 mile down the road, so I didn't need a tow. Came into Bert's stressed and tired and the staff was great. I needed a replacement clutch and the part had to be ordered special from Winston Salem. It was an extremely stressful situation, as I had a baby and a dog with me, so much cargo strapped to the roof and we had to be strategic with what we needed from our luggage cargo (baby needs, dog, clothes, food) to spent a day in the local motel. They ordered the part and the guys gave us a ride to and from Motel 6 while they waited for the part and repair. It was a pricey job but the staff was great and the transportation help was so nice of them. Thank god they were at the exit I pulled off on. This garage seems like they deal with these situations all the time, being right off a major interstate. We made the best of a cruddy situation and it only added one extra day to our trip home. On Monday, June 23, 2026, my partner's 16-foot box truck broke down while en route for a delivery…read more We called Ultimate Towing & Recovery, and the dispatcher estimated the tow back to Concord, NC would be around $500. We agreed, and a driver arrived within about an hour. That's when things went downhill. Tire Damage During Tow. As the driver began transporting our truck, a rear tire on our box truck blew out. All the tires were in good condition with no visible wear or prior issues. We don't know if the damage was due to how the truck was mounted or road conditions, but the timing was suspicious. Unfinished Disassembly. The tow truck driver said he needed to disconnect something underneath our truck to tow it properly. We trusted his judgment--but when we got the truck back, those parts were never reconnected. Now the vehicle won't start, and pieces are left hanging. New Visible Damage. When the truck was finally dropped off--about 7 hours after the initial call--it was leaning to one side from the blown tire and had new body damage that did not exist before. We have timestamped photos showing the condition of the truck before and after the tow. Shocking $1,600 Bill. We were blindsided with a final charge of $1,600, triple what we were quoted. When we questioned the amount, we were told if we didn't pay immediately, our truck would be impounded. We had no choice but to come up with the money under pressure. No Accountability. We contacted Ultimate Towing & Recovery right away and provided photos of the damage. Their response? "Give us your lawyer's number." We're now out $1,600 and stuck with a damaged truck that no longer runs. This experience has severely impacted our small business, and we're extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and care. If the company decides to make this right, they have our contact info--but until then, we can't recommend them to anyone who values honesty, accountability, or the safety of their vehicle.
