They also install and clean carpeting as well as tile and grout. My job as Trustee for my parents affairs including my childhood house was a stressful challenge with many choices and difficult decisions since March 19, 2019. After the house was empty by the 4th of July I decided to remove all the carpeting and padding which was 34 years old (stuck at times) throughout the house in 4 rooms, closets too and a hallway. The final and 4th color of carpet was sky blue. So 4 different colors of plush since 1958 when the house was built. It took 3 days for the carpet and padding removal. A back breaking and messy job removing it all plus the tack boards and transporting to the backyard for disposal in rolled up pieces. Finally I had an idea and hopefully a profitable one to clean, sand and restore these hardwood floors throughout the house that still looked in their original and beautiful state plus a sure selling point and value to help sell the house in a modern way as well. I used Yelp for my research based on previous reviews and found 4 businesses which I called for pricing, and time availability for my project. Dominic Frabotta the owner called me back within an hour after I left a message with my request. He personally made a appointment within a few days based on our schedules to see, access and measure the whole house for my estimate. We talked budget since I needed to save money for painting and other repairs that would be used for an old house to prep for sale. He worked out a price which was wonderful compared to the 2 other companies I had already called. The 4th company called me back and was too busy till November. Dominic explained the project would take 4 days. He also informed me that there would be a set of 2 different crews with 2 employees since they all have a different talents and skills at their jobs. It was a noisy 1st day of preparation which entitled sanding and stripping the old stain or varnish off throughout the house plus closets and also included any nails or boards that needed to be checked or addressed. I was outside working in the garage on items to sell or donate since the machine a voltage unit? showed 241on the meter in the kitchen, so I was not allowed even in the basement to work due to noise. The guys wore masks, gloves and headphones for protection and company safety policy. The 2nd day and 3rd day would be the stain which employee Brandon & Steve helped me decide on to perfectly match the kitchen cupboards a walnut brown color. Even though the stain was a different color and a change from the original hardwood floor color, Dominic assured me to try a medium brown color to change the appearance of the walk in the door feeling and he was 100% correct. The final results and my photos attached before during and after sold the house ! The 3rd day would be the sealer or clear coat applied by Wiiliam which was a fantastic day to see my choice in stain color to match the kitchen cupboards. The final job was completed by William with measuring the wall areas throughout the house for the cutting and staining at the shop for the shoe moldings. He installed all of them in rooms with a nail gun in 1 hour. Dominic and his awesome crew of guys went out of their way to keep the dust level down using a high tech vacuum equipment and clean up afterwards at the end of a work day. Their communication with me on details or ideas working the 3 days, was very helpful and successful in their final work results. The total price I paid for my parents home was very reasonable and within my budget to accomplish a job well done. My parents house sold in 24 hours after it was listed for sale with my agent on the web plus with many photos including the old yet new hardwood floors. The new owner was so pleased and thrilled to know and see such a wonderful job on the old hardwood floors instead of using carpeting. The nightmare begins, during COVID time frame carpet laid turned out to be from different color lots, manufacturers agreed to replacement. The second carpet was laid with a "shear" defect, that is a grove cit into the middle of carpet that looks like a one inch racing stripe. I asked how can this happen, didn't anybody at Reimer look at the carpet rolls prior to installation ? I guess not. Reimer offered a "settlement" which I foolishly accepted because being near 70 years old, I couldn't move all the furniture on the second floor for the third time. The problems soon started with the second carpet, ripples started to appear. it seems going forward , Riemer was going to charge to come out and look at ($75) the ripples and than charge for the repair. They have been out at least three times for ripples and over $500 dollars to take care of this issue. It seems to be a great profit stream because it was poor installation from I read on Google. just to add to this, areas that they had to de ripple, seem to be holding. but now the ripples are going to new areas . I feel like ripping out the mess and starting over with another merchant, I can't believe it's worth the money to have a endless cycle of restretching. Truely don't know what to do.

Experience thus far... 1) Purchased expensive wool carpet…read more(we were told it was carpet). 2) Manufacturing process took a long time but we were patient. We were told our carpet installation was "tricky," and required an experienced installer. This should have set off alarm bells as you will see below). 3) Carpet installation was scheduled approximately 3 months after order. 4) Install date arrives. We had moved everything in preparation. 5) Carpet and carpet pad are delivered. 6) Install team arrives. Lead installer has more than 35 years of experience. Seemed like a very credible guy. Other guys indicate that he is the top installer for Riemer. 7) After about an hour of analysis, lead installer tells us that the carpet cannot be installed. The carpet was designed only to be a rug and that the multiple seams we needed would look terrible. He demonstrated this by trying to cut the carpet/rug in front of us. 8) We ask what are our alternatives? Answer - carpet has to be returned and we need to start from the beginning in choosing a new carpet. 9) Lead installer said same thing happened a month ago and the customer had to choose different carpet. 10) Carpet and pad are returned to Riemer. 11) We started a new online search for carpet. After about 10 days, we had narrowed the search to two options. 12) Salesperson finally gets back to us after about 10 days. She indicates that they "found" an installer who will install the carpet without a problem. 13) Salesperson indicates this has never happened before, despite the fact that the installer with 35 years of experience said the same thing happened a month ago. Who is lying? Our experience is that it is typically the person who has a motive to lie. 14) Salesperson indicates that manufacturer will not take carpet back. Obviously therein lies the motive. Riemer is in a bind. Salesperson says we have no choice but to take the carpet with the new "special" installer. 15) We feel like this is a shakedown. What should we do?

Plus, they already had the product on the truck, per installer. My fear, and I believe it happened. 1st sale was to get the job and the second was to make up the difference from the first sale. I felt I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I loved the color and the reason they didn't get a score of 5 , I just wanted it over. Even though I knew $8+ was on the high side of competitive while telling me you're giving me a deal. Only y'all know if you lied. Since I'm not presented with a price sheet. I hate the, today it's 5, tomorrow it's 2 and next week it's 10. Whatever your head decides it is. You feel robbed while they're smiling in your face. Not once did someone mention the 60% installation, why, cause there's no such thing. Vent over!
