As someone else recently stated, their staff is always professional, engaging & polite aka it doesn't feel like the twilight zone every time I'm there with side conversations & actually being greeted. Upon entering, a security guard also entered and gave us a prolonged and unusual look. At the time, we did not think much of it and continued shopping. Shortly after, my husband went to the coffee section while I remained in the women's clothing area. I moved between the women's section, the juniors section, and then the designer area. Throughout this entire time, the security guard followed me closely, remaining only a few feet behind me. Each time I moved to a different section, he moved immediately after me and maintained the same close distance. At one point, I heard the security guard make a phone call, which appeared to be regarding me. His proximity and behavior made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I contacted my husband and informed him that I was being followed and profiled by the security guard. He came to join me immediately, yet the security guard continued to follow me even after my husband arrived. I then spoke with a manager to report the situation. What was particularly concerning is that many other shoppers in the store were dressed similarly to me, sweats and jackets, which was appropriate given that it was snowing. The only clear difference between myself and those shoppers was that I was the only visibly brown person in the area. The security guard's behavior made me feel criminalized and unwelcome, as though I was being treated as suspicious solely based on my appearance. This experience was deeply distressing. No customer should be made to feel intimidated, surveilled, or forced to leave a store based on race or ethnicity. This incident reflects a serious concern regarding discriminatory treatment of shoppers, particularly people of color

Several dozen people were just picking through open bins of junk. I had no real desire to go pawing around open stuff just being handled by anyone and everyone. The eastern side of the building was a tad more useful as it was showcasing inexpensive furniture, mattresses, tools and other such items. I didn't see any real order or method to the madness. It comes across very unorganized and arbitrary. I left without buying anything and doubt I will ever have the desire to return. Not impressed. Not even a little.

I usually go to these discount stores for truffle oil and other shelf stable goodies. The hubs also needed new car seat covers and was able to get a set for $17. Obviously, people rummage through the shelves and open products but that's expected in any store really. The staff was really nice and we were able to check out quickly. I'm definitely a fan!

I was picking things off the shelves when one…read moreemployee (I'll call her #1) yelled some snide comments from the back of the store to the innocent fellow employee standing up front (I'll call her #2) about some other coworker that was not there (I'll call her #3). I paid it no mind and kept on shopping. Then #3 appeared at the front door and all hell broke loose. #1 and #3 proceeded to start a ruckus screaming and yelling at each other. This went on for a minute and they went in the back and continued. The nastiness carried loudly throughout the store. After another 5 minutes, I had heard enough. My gift of love was not going to be polluted by their toxicity. No thanks. Never coming back. Wow. I walked out buying nothing after putting my prospective purchases back on the shelf in the right places and stating to #2 that I didn't want the negative energy her coworkers #1 and #3 were spewing to be infused into my gift.... for my wife on our anniversary as she recovers from cancer as we don't need any more negativity right now. Maybe if I enjoyed the Real Housewives or Jersey Shore type of reality series I would rate this place higher. But I'm not that cool.

Daiso also has a selection of Japanese food and drink items as well. The products seem to be much better quality than other places similar to this. There is a poster in most aisles that show what prices are since most labels are in Japanese. While items are about a dollar more than you will spend at other similar type stores, Daiso was less stressful to shop in and the checkout process is much easier, as they have a self-checkout as well. Daiso is very clean and well kept with many workers available and happy to assist you if needed. Fun place to go and experience. Go see what it's all about.
