When asked why we can longer check ourselves out after waiting in a long line, the employee advised that there were people stealing-- okay, maybe corporate should just put measures in place to prevent customers from stealing instead of impacting all customers with an extremely long wait--or even take out the self check out stations and create lanes for employees to check out customers. This is such a terrible experience. I thought maybe it was just something they put in place in the mornings, but went in the evening and there was an even longer wait. Terrible business decision. This store offers self-checkout kiosks in addition to traditional checkout stations attended by staff. On my last visit, the store was pretty crowded with the holiday shopping crowd. Customers were queued at the checkout stations but the line moved pretty swiftly. I used self-checkout, everything operated as it should so the transaction went very smoothly. Staffing levels are generally adequate for the store. Employees are knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. There are plenty of shopping carts and baskets available for use. The huge parking lot shared with the rest of the shopping center businesses assures you will always be able to easily find a spot to park your vehicle.

It had been at least a dozen years since I had set foot inside a Dollar General but an online…read moresearch for a hard to find product I have been searching for led me to Dollar General. The product is Hot Shot Flea, Tick & Lice Killer With Odor Neutralizer. I don't know why but this particular variety of Hot Shot spray has become hard to find at a reasonable price. I had been buying it at a store that no longer carries it and my online search limited me to Amazon ($16+), Chewy ($5) and Dollar General for $3.75 per can. Ding ding ding, we have a winner! I dropped by this store on my way home from work on Friday afternoon around 4:30 PM. I broke out the Yelp app to check in but there was no listing so I clicked the "add a business" button and got busy. There are two entry and exit points, one on Battlefield (divided road) and one on Campostella. At peak traffic times getting in and out of the small shopping center can require a bit of patience. The private parking lot is of adequate size but is not in the best repair. The lot could use some patching and paving, it's not uncommon to find stray shopping carts and some debris in the lot. It is also not unusual to find individuals hawking their wares out of a truck or trailer in the corner of the lot nearest the intersection. Walking into the store is kind of jarring. There is product everywhere. Due to the wall of products displayed you cannot walk straight into the store but must follow the wall of product displays until you get to the end. Once in the store you will find very dirty tile floors in desperate need of stripping and waxing plus you will discover aisles crowded with items on carts or in boxes waiting to be put on the shelves. You will also find a very wide variety of products across many categories at pretty decent prices. To this point I've mostly trashed the store but there are some saving graces that bring the rating up to three stars. It's time to (in the words of Johnny Mercer) "accentuate the positive." As I previously stated, prices tend to be really good on most items and they stock an incredibly very wide variety of products. To me, it's worth a star, just for them to have the Hot Shot product I like. Another big plus is the friendly staff. I was greeted when I entered the store and thanked as I departed. Check out was efficient and pleasant. Oh yeah, there is also free Wi-Fi. I shall return.

It was the only location that had all of needed items in stock. Neckties for my sons - one black, one blue - and a long sleeve shirt for me totaled $50 but only cost me $6 after Kohl's cash and a sale coupon code. Cool thing was my Kohl's cash had actually expired the previous day BUT the fab customer service reps helped me redeem it! Received an "order pickup ready" email and text message 4 hours after placing the order. Per email, I located the red online order pickup kiosk in the men's department (there was a sign hanging from the ceiling). I showed them my ID, then they scanned the pickup barcode within the email. Employee disappeared for a few minutes, only to reappear with a bag filled with the items I ordered. Total time for online pickup: 5 minutes. Sadly, the shirt appeared small so I attempted to find a bigger size to do an exchange. It was a HOT MESS! Clothes out of place with no apparent order/organization. Some Star Wars graphic hoodies, some flannel shirts, etc. I asked the pickup employee for assistance but she just pointed to the young men's department that I had already looked through unsuccessfully. After aimlessly looking again, I asked her to call an employee over to assist me. He arrived, went to the area I looked in, but couldn't find it either. At long last, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted the long sleeve on a table, buried under a myriad of short sleeve graphic shirts. Total time for finding even swap shirt: 50 minutes. One of the ties appeared a tad different than the online pic, so I continued my in-store quest to find an exchange worthy boys neck tie. Looked around myself and struck out. After I asked an employee, he honestly replied "I don't know but I'll try to help." BEST, HONEST ANSWER!! We eventually did and the exchange at the customer service counter took no time at all with no additional money spent! All in all, a good customer forward facing company with relevant brands and enticing sales, but if you go in store, you're on your own.
