I love this small NEX. Small but has almost everything you need from toiletries, snacks, dog and cat food, clothing, shoes, cleaning supples, tvs, a small cosmetic section, bubble bath, alcohol and the list goes on. They have a small jewelry and handbag section as well. One portion of the store has a small area for for greeting cards and just beyond that if you get hungry Subway is in the same building. Staff has always been friendly, I've enjoyed seeing the same familiar smiling faces even during a pandemic. Sailors can also get uniforms here. We like that they always have random items in the very back of the store-today they had towels, kid toys, paint and other random items. My favorite is their tiny Disney section! They have lots of affordable Minnie and Micky mouse items from t-shirts, hats, backpacks, key chains and the like, perfect if you are a Disney fan or if you want to grab souvenirs before your next Disney trip! Unless you go on military pay days, its usually pretty quiet in the store with very few customers which is what I like best.

Is there a uniform shop here?

Yes; however, the selection is very limited. They have just enough to call it a uniform shop.

Shoppers be warned. I have been a customer at many designer consignment stores and this is by far…read moreone of the worst. If not the worst. First off, nothing in the store is priced. I would ask how much something was and the woman working there thought about it for a minute, as if she were testing to see how much she could charge me, and then give me a price. Very few items in the store were priced to sell. All of this doesn't compare to the shock I felt when she quoted me the price ($2200) on a very fake Chanel. I knew immediately upon touching it that it was a fake. The "leather" was not the soft buttery leather synonymous with Chanel. The other reason I knew the bag was fake was when I opened it, the leather was completely peeling like a cheap purse from Aldo. I showed the woman working and asked if it was real and she tried to show me the "authentication card" to verify its authenticity. She assured me it was real and that her years working at LV gave her the experience to authenticate luxury bags. I'll let the picture speak for itself! Again, beware of a store that advertises as "designer" but does not have the authenticate inventory to back it up. You will have a much better experience going to a really luxury consigner like Double Take in VA Beach.

Style Encore Chesapeake hosted a Ladies Night Out event this evening and I'm so glad that I was…read moreable to attend! Refreshments, giveaways, and discounts made this event so much fun! Staff is always so friendly and attentive whether they're asking to take some empty hangers out of your hands, or asking if you'd like for them to place all of your terrific finds behind the cash wrap to free up your hands to continue shopping. I always enjoy how clean and well organized the store is kept. The aisles are spacious. The clothing racks are clearly marked by size and the different sections are arranged according to styles with attention to colors. This retail team truly takes time to keep their selections appealing to their customers. This evening's event featured 90% off clearance, 20% off storewide, and 10% off designer ($250 or less). I have to admit that the additional discounts are music to my ears...and my wallet, too! Thank you, Style Encore for such a nice shopping event!

When I approached the counter to have my items scanned, the cashier looked at them and immediately said, "Those won't sell." When I politely asked why, she looked at another cashier to explain instead of giving me a direct answer herself. She then suggested that I take my items to Plato's Closet. The reason I came to Style Encore in the first place is because the website specifically says they accept high-ticket items, and my item is well over $150. If you're going to deny someone a service, you should at least be able to clearly explain why in a respectful and professional manner. The overall experience felt discouraging and unwelcoming from the moment I walked in. A simple greeting and better customer service would have made a huge difference.

I've seen a lot of reviews bashing PC for its buying regulations but I will say that PC in all…read moreareas and states is pretty bad when it comes to buying items. The company is ran very loosely in this regard, and they don't ever do more than a glance at most items. I've both sold with them and bought from them for many years in different parts of the USA, but always struggled to get may of my items approved despite quality branding and usage... this is just expected ‍ One time awhile back in a different state I put a bunch of earrings I didn't want anymore on various earring packaging that I had kept from stores despite them being from all different brands and places, didn't even clean them, but every single one was accepted, so who knows what happens behind that counter... However, while I have consistently seen SHEIN and other fast fashion brands overrun thrift stores, I'm happy to say that I typically only see, at most, Walmart branded clothing here. But this is usually very cheap and even the SHEIN clothing they do have is priced low accordingly, so I'm glad they recognize the actual worth of what they accept of those items! I went in today and found a lot of really nice items which is rare for me, I seldom buy clothes in big quantities because it's hard for me to find stuff that works but I'm always trying to pinch my penny's where I can as well! The only sad thing is that the nicer clothing was a bit more on the expensive side, but their selection was pretty good in my opinion for both adults and the youth. A mother in the changing stall next to me was raving to her daughter about how happy she was to find so many jeans that fit her, so I wouldn't discredit her experience! The only complaint I do have is that the employees, as many other reviews have mentioned, are very cold shouldered. I did see a lot of them rushing around to keep the store clean and stay on top of go backs so I respect the hustle! However, both times I interacted with an employee, (I believe it was the same girl both times but I can't remember) at the fitting rooms and at the register, I was spoken to very coldly and curt throughout the interactions. When I checked out I had about $200 worth of items I had found, I usually always look forward to talking to the employees at the register, but the woman who checked me out seemed very annoyed by my presence and being there in general. I tried my best to remove as many hangers as possible before placing my items on the counter, but when a few on the bottom of my basket still had them on and I placed them on the top of my pile that she was going through, she audibly sighed. No conversation was made throughout the entirety of the interaction, despite it being longer due to my purchases. While I thanked her twice for taking the time to fold my clothes and help me with my large purchase, she dismissed me pretty quickly these times as well. As someone who has worked in retail for over 5 years now, I'm very mindful of my presence as a customer and the exhaustion working such a job can have on you. But this should not be an issue when interacting with customers, as that is a core part of working in a retail setting, barely acknowledging customers, is not acceptable. If the employees in a store cannot get behind the fact of providing good service in a service oriented industry, then they are simply not cut out for the job. I'm not saying employees should bend over backwards for customers, because there's only so much we should expect in society regarding quality of work when paying our workers a barely livable wage... but making small talk like, "how has your day been?" Or "did you find everything okay?" Is the bare minimum. If you can't be bothered to look another human in the eyes when speaking to you, even when they're kind and respectful, then you should consider working elsewhere. If you're looking for a quality experience in regard to customer service, don't expect that from this location, as many employees are under-experienced and uninterested in the company. But their selection of items has always been one of my favorite aspects of the location, even if prices can be high sometimes... I attached photos of all my items and prices below for anyone interested, overall I felt that almost everything was very reasonably priced except for a holister jacket priced at $40, in my opinion the jacket is worth no more than $30 but I really loved the fit so I invested in it ‍
