I stop in this store every other week or so. It's always clean, quiet and well organized. The pet and pet food section is where often look for good bargains as I spend a fortune on my pets. The furniture and mattress section is well represented as well and if I was looking for a new mattress. I'd likely start here. The staff are always nice to me and the seasonal and holiday shopping is always first rate. Especially holiday decorations. There is plenty of parking and the parking is in a safe lot. I often spend an hour milling through this store. It's a fun pastime. The coupon says a s 20 percent off your entire order days are really good days to shop. Sign up for their rewards program, it really helps. read more

This place felt... Desolate, honestly. There were barely anyone to assist to find any furnishings fitting for a mausoleum, and the lot out front is so dead, it almost made the whole shopping center feel like it was permanently closed. There is a ray of light, the few who do work here are at least eager to assist, though they were taken back from my unusual requirements for furniture. read more

The staff here are top notch; don't let any other reviews influence your thinking. Helpful, courteous, and genuinely nice folks work here. Please give this store your business, the employees there are just phenomenal. Shout out to Kenzie who helped me with the tote lid that some a$$hole ran over on purpose right after leaving the store. She replaced my lid free of charge after telling her my sob story. Good folks work here; give them their dues where it counts! Edit: ghetto and bullet holes? Are you freaking kidding me?? Pay no heed to previous reviewer that said this place was in a ghetto. When I came here, I found the store was fully functional, clean and the employees quick and friendly. As I checked the sell by dates on the foodstuffs none were even within a year of expiration even the clearance items. I rarely come to this part of Lakewood, so its good to see that they have a store like this here. read more

It's worth making the trek out to the West Si-yeed to visit this Big Lots. Miles better than the one in the Baker District, and no urine smell ta' boot! As mentioned in one of the Baker reviews, this store (the Lakewood one) is one of the larger and more fully-stocked in the Denver area. It even has an entire furniture department, which, while not my primary reason for visiting the place, looked like it had some good deals on pretty nice stuff! However, I needed cushions for my patio chairs, so to the "cushions for patio chairs" aisle I went. Indeed, there were plenty to choose from! I managed to becushion all eight of my patio chairs for $120. Similar becushioning at Target or Home Depot would've run me into the $350 range. I know, because I checked. I'm a bargain-shopper, yo. Bonus: a garden gnome for $6!! Big Lots isn't going to win any awards for haute couture (yes, they do actually have clothes here, but I'd steer far clear of that department... Big Lots undies? Eewwwww!) or expensive gifts. I'd never in a million years buy toys for my kid here because I'm sure they're absolutely DRIPPING with lead paint from China. And although they do sell snacky-foods and personal hygiene products, I wouldn't recommend putting anything from their shelves ON or IN your body. But for what it is, Big Lots kicks ass. And this particular Big Lots-- on the West Si-yeed-- kicks it the most. Four stars for being THE place to go for spiffing up your outdoor living space on the cheap. Patio chairs, wind chimes, tiki lamps, funky-cool plastic "glass"ware and dinnerware, gardening tools, pots and potting soil, beach towels, hoses, sprinklers, accent fencing, and yes... garden gnomes. This is the cleanest of the Best Lots, spiffy and sharp. I bought some faux mink blankets for $30 and one fell apart on its third day fo use. But in general, lots o good buys to be had. Unless its close out time, stay away from the vastly over priced furniture. read more

If OMG means Oh! Mad GHETTO.... then this Big Lots is the exact OMG place. Bullet holes in the front doors? Check. Filthy, peeling, cracked floors? Check. Terrifingly old, outdated, dry, expired and cheap foodstuffs? Check. Sketchy clientele? Check. HOWEVER..... The staff *actually* answered the phone, was HELPFUL over the phone, and even more so in the store. Bumped it from a "Stay the EFF Away" rating to an A-OK rating The help makes the business, and the guy working furniture on the night I needed that ottoman (impulse shopper anyone?) made it all worth my while. If you're looking for cheap.... it's here. You might want to bring some Pepper Spray, though. read more

Love me some Big Lots, but DID NOT like this store. 1.) It's smaller than most; not a good selection of items. 2.) Young girl at register didn't speak when I walked in--not that I expected it in this day and age of limited customer service skills--but looked at me like I came in to steal. This store is always: fine. Not bad, not great. Not huge, but not small. More importantly they always have cat litter in stock and sometimes they have Muir Glenn tomatoes! Their employees are always helpful and nice. Don't let it's facade fool you. read more

I'm not one to normally complain, but this store is an absolute wreck! The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because it is a big lots. I love big lots. This store on the other hand, I will never go into again. The isles are full of boxes and carts, with no one in sight doing anything with them. Their merchandise is thrown about, with no kind of organization. I was in there for 5 minutes and had to leave. Don't bother getting a cart, because you can't get through the isles. It's a complete mess and whoever the manager is needs to take a little pride and take care of the store. read more
