I am writing to formally report and complain about an extremely concerning experience I had at Walmart involving an employee named Lisa. I went into the store to load paper cash onto my Cash App account. Lisa was the employee assisting me with the transaction. At the time, I was in somewhat of a hurry and admittedly frustrated due to personal circumstances unrelated to the store. However, I noticed that Lisa appeared to interpret my nervousness as suspicious behavior. Lisa then told me that she was not going to complete my transaction. When I asked her why, she stated, "I don't know, it just doesn't feel right." I was extremely confused by this response because I was simply attempting to load cash onto my Cash App account. I asked her directly whether her concerns were because I am Latino or because I have tattoos. She denied that was the reason, but continued to refuse to complete the transaction, again stating that it "didn't feel right." Lisa then asked me for my phone number. I questioned why she needed my phone number because I had completed similar transactions before and had never been asked for it. I ultimately agreed to provide my phone number, but Lisa then stated that she believed I was giving her a fake phone number. I explained that I could show her the phone number listed in my iPhone settings to verify that it was my actual number. Despite this, she still refused to assist me and walked away. At that point, I felt that I was being unfairly singled out and discriminated against. I cannot understand how an employee could refuse to provide service simply because a transaction "doesn't feel right," particularly when I was willing to provide the requested information and verify my identity. Her actions and statements left me with the strong impression that she had made assumptions about me based on my appearance, including the fact that I am a young Latino man with tattoos. I want to be clear that I am not claiming to know what was in Lisas's mind, but the way I was treated made me feel discriminated against based on my ethnicity and appearance. In my opinion, I was treated as though I was suspicious or attempting to do something improper when I was simply trying to deposit legitimate cash that I had received from a customer for work. I am a U.S. citizen who was born in this country. I work hard for my money, and there was absolutely nothing improper or suspicious about my attempt to load cash onto my Cash App account. Because Lisa refused to assist me, I was forced to leave the store and go to Walgreens to complete a transaction that I should have been able to complete at Walmart. I subsequently went to the front of the store and requested to speak with a general manager because I wanted to formally report what had happened. One of the managers spoke with Lisa and then returned to tell me that there was nothing they could do because she had worked for Walmart for 29 years and had seniority. I found that response extremely unfair and unacceptable. An employee's length of employment should not excuse or shield them from accountability if a customer is treated inappropriately or potentially discriminated against. Seniority should not mean that an employee is above being investigated or held accountable for their conduct. I am requesting that Walmart conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, including reviewing any available security footage, transaction records, and speaking with the employees who were involved or witnessed the interaction. I also ask that the company determine whether Lisa's conduct was consistent with Walmart's policies regarding customer service, equal treatment, and discrimination. No customer should have to leave a store feeling humiliated, profiled, or discriminated against because of their ethnicity, appearance, or tattoos. I understand that employees may have legitimate reasons to refuse certain transactions when there are actual policy or security concerns. However, simply stating that something "doesn't feel right," accusing a customer of potentially providing a fake phone number, and then refusing to assist them after they offer to verify their information is extremely concerning. I am pursuing legal action regarding this incident, but regardless of that, I believe Walmart needs to take this complaint seriously and investigate what occurred. I am asking that appropriate action be taken if the investigation determines that Lisa violated company policy or treated me differently based on discriminatory assumptions. I hope Walmart takes this matter seriously and ensures that no other customer experiences this type of treatment. I deserve to be treated with the same dignity, respect, and fairness as every other customer who walks into the store. read more

Baffled and disgusted. I ordered 9 items from their garden center last night as part of a gift for a family member. I am presently ill and relying heavily on delivery services. I spent roughly 4 hours researching both items and substitution options. I also gave the shopper permission for "a next best option" and added extra tip money. This should've been straightforward: apart from 2 fruit plants, all items were basic garden flowers. I favored items marked as "best seller" with good reviews. I received multiple confirmations today, including an email informing me to get ready to receive my items. About 90 minutes before my scheduled delivery, I received the attached cancellation notice without any additional context or explanation. As I urgently need a gift, I considered re-ordering and sought information as to why an entire order would be cancelled. I called customer service and was told several things--some of them contradictory, and all of them deeply concerning: -Your items were carefully packaged and loaded, and then your order went missing -All of your items were out of stock--though this is problematic, as I gave the option of substitution "as desired", and a substantial hold was placed on my credit card so the shopper could choose pricier items. -All of your items were in stock 15 hours ago, but as of now they are out of stock because they're very popular. However, if you reorder, we will provide substitutions this time, "Don't worry!" The whole matter seems surreal and absurd. Absolutely furious. I bought four new tires for my car from Walmart via their webpage. Then I booked an appointment to have the tires installed. I showed up this morning at 7am per the emailed instructions. I was coldly and rudely told by Dennis, that they don't do tire installations on BMWs. Some bs about not having the right lift and they won't take responsibility for bending my frame. So, then I get to walk four tires to my car in the parking lot. My knee scooter for my broken leg is in the cargo area so I have to put three tires in my backseat and one in my front seat. Now I need to find someone that does installations with road hazard for tires I didn't buy from them. This is a huge joke and the joke is in me. I their was an option to leave no stars i would. I had made a pick up order and it was a horrible experience. First when I got there nobody answered, I was there before 10. So I sat in my car for 20 minutes before I went inside to get my order. Then spent another 15 minutes just to get someone to help me. The excuse I got was "well sometimes they just leave early." Then I had someone tell me that they needed to look for something to even help me with my order. I waited in the back and they found my order and the way it was packaged was ridiculous, to say the least. The only decent experience I had was that one of the girls walked me out because, she said she didnt want me to have issues with anyone assuming that I had stolen anything. Now lets move onto the items. 3 of the items were opened and one was leaking. Needless to say I will not be doing anymore business here. This Walmart was able to get me instantly, install my tires along with the warranty, and even replace my spare tire with a better one. After that, they went the extra mile by replacing my windshield wipers, giving me a oil change, and filled my windshield wiper fluid. I paid for the tire installation and the oil change, but they did all the other stuff including the balancing on the spare and the windshield wiper install and fluid refill for free! Part of the reason people do online grocery shopping for pick up is because they have busy lives, mouths to feed, and no time for an actual grocery trip. Will never grocery shop there again. As I was trying to unload my full shopping cart the cashier was stacking the groceries up where bags should be. When I tried to give her mu reusable bags she refused to take them and just stared at me like I was crazy. I'm 74 years old and ended up having to bag all my groceries without any help. I recently bought a Walmart money card reloadable Visa card at this store in Lakewood and upon getting home I discovered when I open the package that on top of the real card inside was a piece of a card that contained just the barcode of a different card that was superimposed over the barcode of the real card inside so that when they scanned it they scan the barcode of a piece of a card which didn't even have the phone numbers so there's no way to register it and then you can't register the card underneath because they didn't scan it then when I tried to call customer service well first I went in the store and tried to talk to them about it and they told me that they can't do anything about it in the store I had to call her customer service line then when I called the customer service line the first chick just took all the information acted like she was going to do something about it and then just transferred me to somebody else the second person that I got transferred to you took all the information told me that they were going to do something about it put me on hold and then hung up on me so I highly recommend that nobody go to the store for anything but definitely don't put $50 or any amount of money on a Walmart card from there because you most likely will never see it again because they have a scam going where they'll put a little piece of a card with the barcode over your card so that you can't register either of them and your $50 is just left in limbo and when you try to fucking contact somebody to get it back they'll just hang up on you. I am convinced that this is not an error that this was a deliberate action taken by Walmart to steal people's money. read more

Last night at the Walmart Lakewood - Wadsworth Blvd on 1st and wadsworth I had the worst experience of my life. After getting off of work at the pet smart which is also on 1st and wads I went into said Walmart to look into buying makeup at about 8:00 pm. I had my pet smart bags with me because I had gotten stuff for my dogs. I went straight to the makeup section and I didn't touch anything but realized I had to go to the bathroom. After I went to the bathroom one of the store managers approached me in the bathroom to tell me I was going to jail for stealing. I didn't even get a chance to wash my hands. I came out of the bathroom and told her that I work at pet smart and that I didn't take anything. She told me I had to leave my pet smart bags on the counter and leave the store. I offered to take everything out of my bags and offered to show my receipts. She refused to let me prove that I didn't steal anything. She started screaming at me that she was calling the police so I stood where I was to wait so that I could prove that I didn't take anything. She then started screaming at me that if I wasn't going to leave my bags that I was going to jail. She claimed that the moment I walk out with the stolen products I supposedly had that I was going to jail. She told me several times that the cops would be there but wouldn't let me prove that I took absolutely nothing. She made claims that I walked into the store with nothing even though I had my pet smart bags on my arm from the moment I left my store. She then started screaming at me to leave but wouldn't let me prove my innocence. She yelled at me that they weren't going to look through my bags even though I offered to take everything out and show her my pet smart receipts. I asked to speak to a manager because she was being extremely rude to me and i didn't appreciate being yelled at, she then shook her "Store manager" tag at me and claimed there were no other managers anywhere for me to speak to. She screamed at me several times to get out and that if I were actually innocent I'd prove it by leaving because when the alarms go off for whatever merchandise she claimed she and other customers watched me take that I was going to go to jail. I've worked in retail before pet smart and never have I met a store manager that would scream at anyone the way she screamed at me. I didn't appreciate being yelled at, being accused of something I absolutely didn't do, and i sure didn't appreciate someone getting in my face in the bathroom. I ended up calling corporate while I was standing outside of the Walmart because of how upset I was. I then called my husband to tell him what happened because I was crying. After getting off of the phone with him I had a panic attack at my pet smart because of the way I was treated. My husband went into the Walmart after he picked me up to speak with another manager (the one she said wasn't there) and they said its going to be dealt with because the other managers heard everything on the radios that goes on in case things like this happen but I am so unbelievably upset....If other team leads could hear the way she was yelling at me why didn't anyone else step in? I know they said it would be dealt with but I need to know that it will actually be dealt with. I do not like confrontation because of my mental health. I get very shaky and panic when anyone yells at me for any reason because of PTSD that I try very hard to work through. If I'm being accused of shoplifting why weren't cameras checked? I want camera footage because this was ridiculous. How dare she accuse me of theft and threaten me with jail time when I did nothing wrong and was willing to show my bags that I had come in with and my pet smart receipts? I should be able to prove that I didn't steal anything without the only answer being that I leave the things I paid for from a completely different store....Even now I am extremely stressed over the altercation. If she thought I stole she should have just called the cops. I would have much rather had police approach me instead of her yelling at me in the bathroom. Sorry this is so long I've just never dealt with such an unprofessional "Store manager" And after doing some research and speaking to corporate I found out that her name is Norma and that shes the assistant manager and not the store manager. You know what Walmart is like, right? Let's start at 3 stars and adjust upwards or downwards from there. Went in for some breakfast burritos -- they were out of stock. To their credit, this WalMart allows you to purchase multi-packs of them -- but they were out of all the breakfast ones; only lunch/dinner ones with a ton of carby rice in. Perused their deli area -- they had popcorn shrimp and popcorn chicken for $2.50 for a large cup. A super came by with another worker and said they all needed to be marked down. I wanted to take advantage of that. I went to the deli with them and then watched an associate fumble with a pricing gun and/or whatever else for somewhere over 5, somewhere under 10 minutes before another worker came up and told me "the Gemini system is down"...and didn't offer any other explanation. I queried, "what does that mean in terms of me buying this popcorn chicken?" She said I'd have to pay full price. I then responded, "Or, you know, because of the inconvenience factor, you *could* just give it to me for free." I've seen other stores do that in similar situations, or discounted, or what have you. She slowly smiled and said "Sorry, I can't do that." 2 stars. Wouldn't you agree? One woman was coughing so loud I thought she was going to hack a lung. No social distancing, all registers that were open were all crammed on one side of the store. The new heavy set Caucasian guy over 250 pounds running the front door overlooking receipts tried blaming me for stealing dog food. I needed a battery for my watch and went to the jewelry counter at this Walmart. The young lady who fixed my battery did not stop until she had it working completely, as it had stopped working within five minutes of the battery being reinstalled. Apparently one of the mechanics of my watch was loose and stopped the battery from working. Liz, the jewelry counter person, was meticulous and would not let up until this silly watch was once again working beautifully. She was pleasant as well and did not get flustered as anyone else would have. I will make it a point to go to this Walmart if I ever need this service again. Thank you again Liz! read more

We went to this Walmart to pick up a few things today, when we encountered a young man with a large pit bull wandering around the store. The dog was not leashed, and was roaming around not always in sight of the owner. It scared a young child in the store who screamed when the dog came around a corner, again not in control of the owner. Walmart employees greeted us when we entered the store, so I can only assume that they allowed this person with their dog to enter the store. I'd also expect Walmart security to have seen this on their cameras. I thought they were so adorable and the clothing section was easy to find. This location was organized! Isn't it wonderful when a known shit hole finally gets it right??
