We opt to do the inside walks when ice and snow prevents the outside training. We appreciate the clean safe environment, restrooms, defibrillators, security, people watching, and many food options in the food court or at various attached restaurants (Red Robin, Cheesecake Factory, El Nopal, Dave and Buster's, etc).

I recently stopped by Target to grab a few things and wanted to take a picture while I was there,…read moreso I needed to use one of the store's electric scooters due to my mobility limitations. When I walked in, there was only one scooter available, and it appeared to be fully charged. Unfortunately, after I sat down and started to use it, it died almost immediately near the entrance. Because of my physical limitations, I wasn't able to move it myself and had to call for assistance. The employees were polite, but I was disappointed that no one checked the other entrance to see if another scooter was available. Instead, they told me one scooter was out of service and the other two were in use. As I was leaving, I saw another scooter, so I'm not sure if that was one that had been in use or if it had actually been available. I understand that equipment can malfunction, but working mobility scooters are an important accessibility resource for customers who rely on them. It would be helpful if they were checked regularly to make sure they're charged and operational, and if staff could verify availability at both entrances before telling customers there aren't any available. I hope this was just an isolated incident because I usually enjoy shopping at Target. I just wanted to share my experience in hopes that accessibility can continue to improve for those of us who depend on these scooters.
