We visited here for an inside walk during the 10 AM Mall Walkers on a weekday and again at 11 AM on a Sunday to get our steps in as we're training for some 3Ks. We opt to do the inside walks when ice and snow prevents the outside training. We appreciate the clean safe environment, restrooms, defibrillators, security, people watching, and many food options in the food court or at various attached restaurants (Red Robin, Cheesecake Factory, El Nopal, Dave and Buster's, etc). read more

Nice mall that can get very crowded. It's well taken care of with plenty of food (from restaurants to the food court) and shopping options. Come check out hopefully some sales and sit down for a nice meal. Ensure to plan accordingly as parking gets full, restaurants get packed so waits can get long, and parking lot can get dangerous with people walking without looking and drivers racing in and out without looking. read more

My wife and I often visited and shopped this mall but on a recent visit it was difficult to walk through the mall. Obviously the mall mgt. has made the decision to profit from renting motorized animal scooters. It definitely was challenge to walk and view the stores without being struck. We will avoid this mall in the future. It's rather seedy. read more

Very large and nice mall located in the St Mathews portion of Louisville. In the Louisville area there is 3 indoor malls in this one, Jefferson and oxnoor center. Between the 3 This location is the largest and has the most updated and popular stores. Good options on shops and nice and comfortable decor spread out the mall. They do have a smallish food court as well. Because of area and name brand they do have some higher end costing merchants. read more

I wish I could give no stars. My daughter and I came here the other day so I could get a massage and she could do a little shopping. While I was getting my massage, security was denying my daughter service at all the stores because of the curfew! It is only 4 o clock and my 15 year old daughter can't be independent and shop on her own. We will not be returning because it seems as if they don't want us here anyways. For the love of goodness, make some better rules. read more

We came with a college prep school group and for context we are all high school students, but we have to be model citizens to stay in the program. We pulled into the parking lot and three guards stopped us at the door and made us leave. They insisted that it was private (it's public). The guards were just plain rude!!! read more

Tis the season for shopping with the rest of Louisville! Shopping at Mall St Matthews will be a bit more challenging this time of year, but it's worth making the trip. You can access the mall from 264 Watterson to Shelbyville Rd, or if you're more familiar with Browns Lane, you can sneak in from the back roads passing the apartments. Parking: If you can snag a place past Red Robin, this entrance is at the food court. Or, head towards JC Penny's and park up the ramp at their 2nd floor. There's parking everywhere around the mall but I consider these areas with less traffic and frustration. Food Court: My family comes to this mall sometimes when we can't make up our minds on dinner. Chick fil a is always a winner, but we also enjoy orange chicken from the Chinese spot next door, or an Unbelievable burger. You can also find pizza, sub sandwiches and cookies. Red Robin and Starbucks are close by too. For another sit down restaurant, check out Cheesecake Factory. Mall St Matthews is a large mall and the type of shops vary. JC Penny's and Dillards are the large cornerstone stores. But you'll also find shoes, kitchenware at Williams Sonoma, fashion for kids, teens and women, candles, home decor at Arhaus and Pottery Barn, jewelry, lingerie, bath and beauty products and chocolate at Godiva. A movie theater is also at this mall, making it a popular spot for people killing time before and after. After a certain time of day, kids under a certain age must be accompanied by an adult. People will be asked for I.D. and turned away if they are without one. Overall, a decent mall and worth visiting from time to time. I do find the shops to be a variety but this isn't necessarily a good thing - some feel out of place and would have a better home in a shopping strips, plus I dislike the multiple kiosks and being solicited to try beauty products. I haven't found a regular clothing shop here for me, and most of our visits involve Hot Topic for the kids or food. read more

I have not been here for a few years and was in the area so decided to stop in at Ulta because I could park and walk into the store. No need to go through the actual mall. The first thing I noticed is how dirty the parking area was, trash everywhere. If the parking lot is unkempt more than likely the inside is the same. It just gave a tacky vibe. I was able to quickly get what I wanted and was out of there. It was around 11:00 on a weekday, but I felt unsafe. I won't be returning any time soon. read more

I guess this is my favorite mall here in Louisville area. Always crowded but great stores. The Cheesecake Factory and Red Robin are both here. There is also a great Godiva Chocolate Shop, New York & Co., and the normals, Spencer's, Hot Topics, Shoe Shops and a large food court. Parking here is free and lots of parking. I honestly think shopping is a chore but when I have to do it, MSM in my opinion is the best option. There are many stores for all ages so there is something for everyone. The parking situation is horrible. Since they added the movie theater and Dave &Busters, there is not a lot of parking and the traffic always jammed somewhere. The only place to really get a decent parking spot is by Dillard's but that store is far from everything else. They added a rule a couple years ago where once it hits a certain time, kids 17 and younger must be with someone that is 21 or older. I understand why the rule is in place but I see where some kids want to hangout at the mall but they can't. If you look younger than 18, you will get asked to see your ID. My friend and I were walking and got asked to show our ID's. Once they was that we were in our 20's they gave us a wristband to wear. I still don't enjoy going to the mall but if I have to, MSM will do. read more

Short review: Just a "mall", forever 21, nyc&co, gamestop, zummiez, torrid, etc. There is a strong mall security force here and they make their presence known. I like that they don't allow teenagers to run wild in here without adult supervision. That cuts down a lot of riff raff. Decent mall. Lots of parking. I'm indifferent. I consider this the "good mall" in Louisville. The property is clean and well kept. The public bathrooms are clean and easily accessible. The retailers are fairly diverse and all seem to be handling the Covid-19 situation well. Most shops have their mask policy and their store capacity posted at their entrance and are doing a great job enforcing their policies. They have a policy that persons under a certain age have to be accompanied by an adult during certain business hours. This has seemed to help a lot with roving gangs of teenagers that have caused problems in the past. This mall has a movie theater that is not attached to the main mall. I have always found this strange and inconvenient. I have never had a problem finding parking here. The best place I have found to park is around back, outside of El Nopal. read more

I used to come here a lot in high school. And it's still a place for high schoolers who like to hang around. If I'm ever back, I'm usually at a store here for UK apparel. I came in and a police officer stopped me and my sister thinking we were under 18, flashing some sort of wristbands. We're in our late 20s! And I told him so! He started laughing and apologized. I prefer Oxmoor for everyday clothes. For shoes or nicer clothes I'd come here. This mall has certainly changed in the last ten years. Lots of crime. Really loved this mall!!! While it was super spacious, parking was brutal!!! The stores had some great sales!!! But the Best Buy's come from the kiosks in the centers of the retail stores!!! Even though Aeropostale was having and 80% off sale everything was jacked up!! I escaped with only 1 shirt, some flip flops and a pair of sunglasses!! I did however visit some of my favorite stores, Torrid, Victoria Secret, Godiva & Pandora!!! I was quite impressed with Pandora's selection compared to Fayetteville Mall in Lexington KY. The food court was awesome!!! Quite the selection!!! As beautiful as the mall was the bathrooms were disgusting!!! Good thing I only used them to wash my hands!!! Seems the mall is very heavily secured!!! Teenagers aren't even allowed to be walking around unattended if they are under 18 without adult supervision!!! Walked around this mall for a bit. Clean, not super crowded, good variety of stores, and that's about it. They may have issues with teens loitering due to all the signage around stating that minors under 17 must be accompanied by an adult, but we didnt see any problems on the dsy we were there. They have a food court with maybe 6 or 7 choices. Can't remember all of them, but there was a Chinese place handing out samples and a ChikFilA. This used to be my go-to place! I recently came in here on the hunt for some khakis at JcPenney's. I haven't stepped foot in this mall in years. Ever since the outlet came to Simpsonville... I really have no reason to. Anyways, walking through- there were some vacant stores and it seems like a lot of "cheapy" stores now. The bathrooms were dirty too. I love this mall out of the two. They offer a gold selection of stores and restaurants. Plus they have cheese cake factory and red Robbin as part of the mall. Now u can't get in cheese cake from the mall.in the cold court they have a lot of the standards places like subway, auntie Anne's, chick fl A,Chinese. Along with a Mexican, Charley s, amd others. A pretty decent mall (as far as malls in general go), Mall St. Matthews serves the affluent east side of the Louisville metro area. With 1.1 million square feet, Mall St. Matthews is the home of more than 30 retailers, including Dillards, Ann Taylor Loft, Arhaus, Aveda, bebe, Brooks Brothers, Brookstone, JC Penney, J. Jill, Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma. We werent there very long, and only went into a few stores, but the ones we did go into were very tidy with friendly staff (OH the only exception being the Nine West store - that chick in there could have scored a $100 sale just by saying hello to me. But because she was a snot, I gave it to Bakers instead) I am not a fan of malls for the most part but this one wasnt bad! read more

It is seemingly the biggest with the most stores... with a food court. Tough to beat a mall that has a Chick-fil-A with one of those typical mall food chinese restaurants with the free samples. I don't know what else I can write here. MSM is fine and serves a good purpose. You won't be like OMG I LOVE MALL OF ST MATTHEWS LOL. You're more likely to think that it's too busy. I've lived in a few different states and this is just a normal mall. For ME kind of on the smaller side, I enjoy the mall next door more with the MACY'S but this is a nice mall to walk around. They have a Godiva store and I always get the chocolate cover strawberries when I'm here:) read more

My co worker and I came here for a little retail therapy and it's not a bad mall. They have the standard stores that all malls have plus a few original stores that cater to their customers. There is a Dilliards, Dilliards Woman and Dilliards Men's in this mall which is a plus. The food court had your typical eateries, nothing that really stands out. There is a Cheesecake Factory here as well, and who doesn't love a good piece of cheesecake?? (Me, not a fan of it) I like the layout and if you're like me, then the walking is good for tracking steps. Another cool thing is the little kid animal cart Ridley thingys. So kids can hop on and these animal motor scooters and ride them through the mall. Not sure how they're rented but kids seem to love them! There is also a kiosk for relaxin massages...what a way to end your retail therapy day! I give this mall 3 stars because although the mall is nice, they need to do a better job keeping it clean. One area smells like feet and you can tell that area hadn't been cleaned in a few hours. But overall it's a nice mall. read more

I can best describe this mall in comparison to the other malls I've been to ... but that's not going to help much here. So ... they have the biggest Victoria's secret here that I've ever seen. They do NOT have a Frederick's of Hollywood. [That explains a lot right?] They have both Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn ... but surprisingly I didn't see a Gap or BR (or Old Navy). And here I thought those were always located hand in hand ... (like Krispy Kreme and In & Out). There's a Cheesecake factory attached to the mall - with outside access only. Worst experience I have ever had in a mall. The stores were great and on point but once we got to the food court it was horrible. The employee that was supposed to be cleaning tables was not properly disinfecting them. When another woman called him out on this he was horribly rude to her and then started cursing after she walked away. My 4yr old daughter was sitting right there hearing all of this and he did not care nor did his supervisor. Shame on you Mall St Matthew's for not maintaining a clean and child friendly environment I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. read more

St. Matthew's is definitely my favorite out of the three chain-store malls in Louisville. It has a very large selection of stores that include a wide variety of merchandise, styles, and age-ranges. This mall is typically clean every time I visit, and has a fairly nice interior. The parking sucks. It is HORRID. It seems like no matter what day you go on, getting a parking spot that's not in the back of the lot is completely impossible. I had to get creative and park all the way at Dillard's, which normally has some close spots open. I do appreciate the initiative this mall took on requiring kids and teenagers to have adult supervision on weekend nights after that crazy fight, however every single time I've gone at that time, I haven't seen one security officer check anyone's ID, and they seem to just stand around waiting for something to happen. I do love the new movie theatre that was added in not too long ago. It's very nice on the inside and even has an IMAX theatre. The only other thing I'm not a fan of is the overall layout of the mall. If you walk from one end to the other, it takes quite some time. It you come in from Dillard's and want to go to the food court, it will probably be a good 15 minute walk to the other side. Overall as I mentioned before, this mall definitely beats Oxmoor and Jefferson. read more

St. Matthews has always been my favorite mall in Louisville. The only thing I dislike about it is that parking can sometimes be scarce. They have huge lots that somehow ALWAYS get filled up and you are left patrolling the aisles for a spot. Other than that, it's a great place! They have a ton of great stores that Jefferson Mall lacks as well as good eats (sit down restaurants as well as a decent-sized food court). A few of my favorite stores in St. Matthews Mall are Torrid, Box Lunch, Bath & Body Works, Godiva Chocolate (of course) and Hot Topic. My favorite places to eat there are Red Robin and El Nopal! Usually, my favorite place to eat in the mall is the designated Chinese restaurant, but the one in this mall isn't my favorite. It was mediocre at best. I will always be a customer of St. Matthews Mall. It is a little further from my house than Jefferson Mall, but I would always rather come here! read more

A few years ago, this was my favorite mall but lately it is has turned into teenager central and I avoid going unless my favorite store- Express- is having a big sale. Mall Saint Matthews was considered the "cool mall" and had better options when I first moved to Louisville about 17 years ago. However, with the addition of the huge Forever 21 store followed by the cinemas, it screams for the teens to rush in with their friends every weekend. There were some issues about 2 years ago with fights breaking out but the police shortly got that under control. At one point, you had to be escorted by a parent if you were under the age of 18 and it was after a certain time of day. If you are looking for a classy experience, go to Oxmoor. If you are headed to Mall St. Matthews, do it on a week day. read more

When I first moved to Louisville, I loved this mall, but that was when I was young-lad that didn't know any better. Oxmoor is the superior mall in every way. The only thing the Mall of St. Matthews has going for it is a movie theater & thankfully there aren't any direct entrances to it from the mall area. My main peeve about this mall are the kiosks out in the middle of the walkway. It'd be different if there were only a few here & there, but they're spread throughout. This is going to sound very unfair, but usually when I'm shopping the last thing I want is someone walking up to me from one of those kiosks trying sell me something. I don't want your terrible products! I get it. It's their job & most of them probably don't want to be bugging people anyway. Again, the problem is that there are too many of these kiosks in this mall. I was recently reminded of this when I went in there to kill time while I was waiting on a movie to start. I was stopped by someone that wanted to sell me some type of facial soap! His opening line? "What do you wash yourself with?" Uh... Soap! It wasn't 20 steps later when someone from an ATT kiosk stopped me & tried to start talking about how great their network is. No comment(but VZW has the better network). It'd be great if they actually took no for an answer, but some of them won't. This is also a teenage heavy mall. The experience. The crowd. The rude kiosk workers. The abundance of unnecessary stores here. None of that is present at Oxmoor. If you're visiting our city, save yourself the headache & go to Oxmoor Center just next door. read more
