Has a great shopping experience w/a niece and two nephews - we got numerous excellent scented candles, Halloween decor, and other incidentals. Great value in all items. Have only been to one other Big Lots before and that was in New York. The Big Lots hear in Pittsburgh is much smaller and much less items. I thought it would of had a better selection of food at better prices also. They have a small assortment of a little of everything . Big Lots is like a striped down version of Target. I was not impressed with store at all. I picked up a few things as I was there anyway. There was one cashier open and there where 4 people on line and no other cashier in sight. I would not go back to this Big Lots again and not sure I would recommend it either. read more

The level of incompetence displayed at this store especially by Dave the manager is off the charts. After waiting home all day for an order that never came, after Dave repeatedly lied about tracking it and about trying to help me the order never came. I had to cancel delivery and get it myself. Dave continues to stand around while he gets everyone else to try and do his job. To top it off he is extremally rude and condescending. read more

purchased a $1,000 loveseat from Big Lots West MIFFLIN, PA, made arrangements and picked it up. After setting up the 225 pound loveseat electric recliner it was defective, arm didn't attach correctly because the bottom was not even and when you went to recline it was metal chipping the wood. Called Big Lots, explained the problem, they could have cared less, told me to bring it back to the store, they would not come and pick it up, even though I paid the additional $150 for the warranty and it was up to me to find a store that had one in stock. So this is your great Customer Service, so now I had to pay twice for delivery and pick up on a defective over $1,000 loveseat!!! Not a good way to treat customers, I'll never step back in your store! read more

I ordered 2 pieces of furniture at this store 2 days ago. For whatever reason the order could not be delivered. I stopped out to the store this morning and talked with a woman named Linda. Linda is fantastic with customer service. I told her what I needed. She went through the store with me and found the items needed. This store only had floor models, so she got on the computer and found the pieces I needed at another store. Linda even found me a trucking company that would pick up and deliver my furniture for me. I am very thankful for Linda's help. Linda is a great asset to this store. This store also carries many household items. I was able to find a lot of little extras that I would of had to go to another store to find. Towels, trash cans, bathroom rugs and such. read more

I always find myself impressed with the inventory at Big Lots. Really they cover the gamut from dollar candy to floor lamps to garden supplies and everything in between. So for weeks I had been anguishing over finding a lamp shade. No not a lamp, just the shade and a beige one to boot. Well after eating at Red Lobster and missing the bus I convinced my boyfriend to come into Big Lots with me. I'll mention that Red Lobster is across the street from Big Lots on Mcnightmare road. I've never left a Big Lots disappointed. Not only did I find a beige lamp shade I also purchased too really pretty red poppy paintings. Although I didn't purchase bedding they had a really nice selection for good prices. I just didn't feel like carrying a bed in a bag on the bus. Big Lots is worth a visit, especially if you like a deal. read more

Ah, another Big Lots! I'd finished up at Nordstrom's, and couldn't resist stopping when I saw it on the way home. (Yeah, that's how I roll- Nordstrom's to Big Lots, baby!). This one just seems nicer than my usual Big Lots in Homestead, but they have similar merchandise. I think this one has a larger selection of beauty and crafting supplies. On this trip, I got some Bumble & Bumble shampoo and conditioner; Zapp's chips; Jasmine rice; scrapbooking stickers and some ribbon. They had a huge supply of bedding, kitchen supplies, furniture, food and kid's toys. read more

i thought about 3 stars, but ill say a 2.5 -- They were fully stocked and of course the prices are really great. For example, Bobby bought me a Shark vacuum for Christmas from Macys for $200. The exact same vacuum is here for $99.. what the F! :( I do want to mention though that no one helped me or even asked if i needed help. I was in the furniture department for a long half hour looking over everything-- window shopping for what sectional i wanted to buy in the near future. No one was in that department or came over at any point. I also went around the store browsing through the aisles.. walked by 2 employees in two different areas.. no hellos, how are you, can i help you find something. Bleh. read more

I had not visited a Big Lots in many years, so I decided to stop on in and see what goodies they have. I was surprised that they sell big items such as couches and patio furniture. I just bought some personal care items such as a shampoo brand that I could not find in any other store. The cashier greeted us and was pleasant throughout the transaction. read more

I bought a couch from this Big Lots online, where it said it was available at the store and able to be shipped with same-day delivery (with an extra fee). I scheduled my delivery for 3-5 pm, and I recieved a confirmation email with an order number. Around 515 pm, the couch had not come yet, so I called to ask about the whereabouts of the couch. First, the big lots sales associate told me she was unable to locate my couch with the order number and I had to contact the delivery service myself, before telling me she was unable to disclose the name of the delivery company per privacy protocol. Eventually after being transferred to multiple different Big Lots employees, I was finally told that I was not on the schedule for the day, and the delivery company "dropped the ball". I was then called back by a supervisor who said the couch would be delivered two days later anytime from 10 am to 2 pm. The next day I get a call from Big Lots saying my order has been cancelled and I must reorder the couch and further schedule the delivery myself with the third party delivery company. I then said I would not like to reorder because this service was completely absurd. Good luck to anyone who orders from this horrendous place and expects to not only receive their order on time, but even at all! I would give this place negative stars if possible. read more

Big lots has some really good stuff but don't buy too big unless ur hauling it yourself. Big lots uses a company called -----ELLIS MOVING COMPANY-------- not only were they a day late delivering it but what a rude delivery driver he was too. Not only did he get rude with me on the phone because he "couldn't find the house" but then he came to my house with the same attitude when I expressed to him how I didn't like the way he spoke to me on the phone he walked up on me while talking over me and then shouted "man do you want the deliver or not" of course I refused ...called Big Lots and complained they in return called the moving companies boss to report the issue unbeknownst to them they were calling the very same person that was standing at my front door -------James-----the proprietor of Ellis Moving, some help that was!!! I will NEVER buy anything from BIG LOTS again!! -pissed in Pittsburgh And it got one star only because I had to press at least one to move forward with this post if it were up to me they had gotten none....way to go fellas nothing like a solid customer service reputation!! read more

This store was not a typical store my husband and I would normally shop in, but we were blown away by there customer service. My husband and I were looking for a patio set and we wanted something that looked nice but didn't break the bank. We dealt with a woman by the name of HA at the North Hills location in Pittsburgh, PA and she was wonderful. We can't not say enough good things about her. HA helped us find the set we were looking for and for the price we wanted to spend. She knew her stuff about the product and the store. She was absolutely great and our new patio set looks fabulous! I would definitely recommend dealing with her if you are ever shopping at that location. We will definitely keep this place in mind when looking for certain items in the future! read more
