Quite well organized for a Big Lots, the shelves were stocked properly and the aisles were clear. It was easy enough to make my way around the store and look for a few things that I had on my little shopping list. Prices are well marked and the displays are good. I got a few things for my apartment including a shower curtain and a bath mat, plus some greeting cards for a pretty good price. Big Lots probably falls between a Dollar General and Walmart for prices. It's good, but you can possibly do better if you're willing to make effort. But for me, this was easy and convenient and A-OK. read more

Tisk Tisk Tisk, just as you think Big Lots might be getting their act together..... Ahhh NOPE! So after the last review I left Big Lots started looking a little better and tidier. Not quite there but was definitely heading in the right direction. Then today just about an hour ago I was standing in line ready to cash out. Now when I say line you probably think 4 maybe 5 people tops, right??? WRONG AGAIN! There was about 9 or 10 of us waiting in line, which is completely crazy because if I counted right there are 6 registers none of which had signs saying broken! So there's an older woman whose working the register and she doing her best to go with the flow. People started getting fidgety and this guy says loudly "somebody should help the lady behind the counter, cause you're all just sitting there and starring at her do all the work? So then I'm sure you all know the fe Fi fo fum giant jerk who thinks he's like an amazing manager or something but he's completely useless, he in his most professional voice possible yells to the customer "shut up scumb bag" the man then proceeded to tell him to step outside and see who the scumb bag is. This wasn't the first time I've seen him treat homeless customers this way. He's always passing judgement or picking fights with the homeless people around here. They don't bother anyone, honestly I think it makes him feel better to pick on those who have it harder than he does. He's definitely not the type of person I would want to be running any store I owned. It just makes Big Lots look bad and look like they approve of how judgemental he is and how poorly he treats certain customers. This specific homeless man is always in the store and I always see him paying for his merchandise and being so polite to everyone. Of course the giant useless jerk didn't go outside an no one proceeded to help the poor lady! I swear everytime I come to this location things get worse and worse. Love the 'Harvest Cheese Puffs'; no chemicals, no msg... Lot unusual items, food. Some health food. Sells beds, quilts... Their bird seed 'Morning Song' also has no chemicals, sulfites. Updating my review. They never seem to have enough people manning the registers. I get it, cost cutting and what not. What I dont appreciate is when I'm in long line and the cashier chit chats with someone they're ringing up with no care in the world. Seriously? It's not Rare to be waiting in line here upwards of 10 to 15 minutes, but to just disrespect your customers by holding a conversation about your kids and the school buses they take while I'm waiting in line for 12 minutes is inexcusable. I left the line, dropped my merchandise off at a nearby shelf and left while she continued to yap away. There are much better options out there than to go here just to be ignored and treated like shit. read more

Today I stopped in at this Big Lots location to grabs some bare essentials for a family member's home. After shopping here I ended up walking out without any merchandise. The first issue was that the aisles were a bit disorganized but fairly well stocked. The biggest issue was that they had some merchandise but not others. An example was that we were looking for plastic wrap but they didn't have any. The other concern was that their checkout aisles were really backed up. That being said, if I wasn't in a hurry then waiting in line would have been fine, but at the time it wasn't worth the wait for the two items I had. I walked here from a nearby hotel thinking this was still a Stop & Shop (I guess Yelp was never notified the Stop & Shop had closed). The good news is that they had what we needed anyway. I was also pleasantly surprised that the inventory here was better than I expected, including a refrigerated goods area. It's absolutely not anything fancy, the floors could be a bit cleaner, but overall it's convenient for certain types of goods. read more

Super new Big Lots in revere, this place is great for quick cheap things. Big selection here for many different things from home and garden to your vehicles to your home furniture. The furniture is decent quality but a great price non the less. Everything from futon mattresses to sofas and bedding. Also a nice added bonus there are cold products available, from soda to milk and freezer products. read more

They called the towing company to tow my car. My car was parked there for 1 hr because I went to planet fitness. Workers at Big Lots make a deal with the towing company. I paid $150 to take my car back just because I parked my car there for 1 hr!!! read more

Bought a very affordable reclinable sofa there. However, after one year the sofa leather is teared in many places and it is hard to lock back in the reclining because folding part on one side of the sofa collapses with the other one. The sofa was never moved after installed and we don't have kids. Only 2 people used it. Luckily I purchased the 3 year protection plan and saved the receipt, which according to the cashier that offered me, covers basically everything. Including wear and tear. So, after calling the warranty line, they told me that they don't cover anything! In short, the sofa to last just one year is very expensive. The protection plan is a total rip off. read more

All I can say is, if you shop here for furniture: come prepared with your own truck and help. They contract out for delivery guys...and have absolutely ZERO organization with holding purchased items, and ensuring the delivery person has the right item before leaving the store. They sent a love seat to me instead of the sofa I purchased, despite my calling and confirming my name, delivery company's name, the item name and transaction ID. Then when I called to report the issue, instead of owning it they tried to blame me, then the delivery guy for THEIR MISTAKE!!! Basically arguing with me over the phone and implying I'm a liar. Mind you, I'm a social worker, and trying to argue integrity with me is always a losing battle for the other person. I ended up getting what I needed. But that type of behavior of staff is Never a good business choice. Train your staff!!! Great values here, that's for sure- but come prepared because you can't rely that they will be.
