They lose a star in my book for the fact that we had to hold the bathroom doors for each other because they didn't lock (women's wouldn't even latch but would swing open on its own). Don't judge this place by the outside--this is easily one of the best BBQ joints I've ever been to. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely mouthwatering. No joke, we had to slowly waddle out because everything was that good. The woman running the place was incredibly sweet. When we shared how excited we were about the food, she offered us a sample of the turkey--and wow. It was some of the best turkey I've ever tasted. Moist, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. And then... the potato salad. I've never liked potato salad. Ever. But this one? It literally changed my mind. I'm already planning my next trip back just to get more. My family of 5 ate here. They give you about 1-2 oz of brisket if you order it. The Mac and cheese is nasty. Not worth the $100 bill, and the restrooms are out of regulations. It's disgusting with ceiling missing, It makes me wonder if the kitchen is in regulation either. read more

We just happened to find this place, driving along I-30. In a word... EXCELLENT!!! The meats were tender and seasoned perfectly (I didn't need any sauces), and the sides are homemade. Was pleasantly surprised at our first stop to Big Mac's BBQ. Glad we didn't judge a book by its cover, because we left with happy plates! Ordered the bobcat burger with fries and the brisket nachos. Both were fantastic and filling. I enjoyed the cheese sauce and how it was included on both dishes. The girls running the front did a wonderful job greeting us as we first came in and promptly getting our drinks to us. My second visit was better than the first. I was really impressed with the personable service from the female owner of the restaurant. My food was freshly prepared and delicious. I opted for the two meat plate meal: pulled pork and beef brisket. My sides included potato salad, coleslaw, and baked beans. I had unsweetened iced tea to drink. For dessert I had their crème brûlée. I would put their barbecue up against anything in Memphis, TN. I hope that I soon return to Hope, AR so that I can eat here again. Ribs, potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans were all very good and that's rare for me to find. The only minor thing was the ribs were a tad dry, but the taste was spot on. Brisket- moderately tender but delicious. Delicate smoked flavor. Pulled pork- came with a bun! I asked for pickles and sliced onion, topped it with some of the slaw. Made a GIANT sandwich...which we were too full to even attempt- do leftovers! Pulled pork was a little dry for us, sadly, but the flavor was nice. Ribs, ribs, ribs- now we are talking! Tender, juicy, perfect texture. I'd return for these for sure. Slaw- chopped cabbage in a bowl. They give you a squirt bottle with slaw dressing so you can make it how you like it. I actually appreciated that. The dressing is a white dressing- sweet. I prefer some vinegar to my slaw, but I think it would please most folks. Baked beans- woo wee!! I felt the heat in my mouth, my throat, down my esophagus, and in my tummy...for like an hour at least. They tasted great, but cowabunga! Potato salad was the bomb. Yum. Yum. Yum. They also served us a price of Texas toast. We took home two ribs, the giant sandwich, and the Texas toast. All of that was only $26. That's a major bargain in our eyes. Okay, the outside may be a little off putting I'm guessing this was a old huddle house type place in the 80's, the inside is clean maybe a bit dated, but to me places that spend money and attention exclusively on decor do not always have the best food. Big Mac's BBQ was on point, the bbq we had was good but we didn't experience the real bbq meats maybe next time kind wanted to dry run on this road trip Had the brisket nachos the brisket is really good, enough fat for flavor but not to ruin the bbq sauce was good the chips seemed made in house not sure, my only issue was my nachos got cold quick from the toppings being cold but on a positive note the toppings were cold and fresh Wife had the grilled cheese brisket and fries she liked her sandwich as well she is not a French fry person I ate one they were really good as well. All in all is this the best bbq I've ever had no, but it was really good bbq for a small down in a surprising place off I-30 next time I'm going in for ribs beans and potato salad to get a real feel. But definitely for today 4.90 out of 5.00 just a little deduction for the temp of the nachos with the cold stuff in the hot meat made the meat and cheese cold quick. We happened to be in Hope, Arkansas I have been craving some Beef Brisket for a while. We went in on a Saturday evening and wasn't very crowded. Our food came out and I had a 3 Meat Sampler with Beef Brisket, 4 BBQ Pork Spare Ribs, and Pulled Pork w 2 sides. I had Fried Okra and a Loaded Baked Potato. I could have gone without the bacon bits. Everything was spot on delicious. Brisket was cooked to where it was fall apart juicy. Ribs came of. The bone nicely and we're very meaty. The Pulled Pork was very delicious. I hardly used any bbq sauce because the meat was so tasty. The girl that served us was very attentive and refilled our drinks. She even made our drinks "To Go " The chef came out also and asked us if all was fine. My friend really enjoyed his Cheeseburger. I would definitely come here again for BBQ They close at 8pm .
