The food is obviously good due to wait for a table and the amount of folks for to go orders. However.....PACK YOUR PATIENCE if you are dining in. It took every bit of 30 minutes plus for the food to come to the table and as we sat for 30 minutes (maybe 40) the table of folks who was sitting before us got their food within 5 minutes of us sitting and waiting. I recently ordered in from Big Mama's soul food, and the food was so good. My container was so full and heavy, they did not skip on the servings because it was delivery. I ordered the baked turkey wing with the yams, cornbread muffin and turnip greens. Everything was delicious. And whoever ever made the sweet potato pie knew what they were doing. It tasted just like my mamas and I haven't had any good sweet potato pie since she's been gone. It wasn't too sweet and everybody today has so much sugar that they take away the real flavor of sweet potato pie. You've got to get it. read more

The service was poor. One of the girls at the counter never looked up from her phone. We were never greeted. The only good item out of our collective two meals , his - burger combo and mine - catfish dinner, was the catfish. The Mac & cheese was runny, under seasoned and tasted old. My family and I were a party of 7 dining in. There is a new policy that 6 or more are charged 15% gratuity for dine-in, okay cool no problem. Our 1st bill was over $100 so that was that tip. Once we sat down we ordered a plate of sides. I paid and left a few more dollars in tip thou I did have to. I go to check my bank statement and see the second transaction that was for $11.52 had a $10 tip on top. I called got an apology from a manager and a $10 refund. I won't be back. I come here for lunch and dinner. I have never had a bad experience. The food is always delicious and the service great. I'm a big fan of the chitterlings and the all you can eat catfish on Fridays isn't bad either (2pm - 6pm). The holiday catering has saved me a few times. I find it easy to order certain sides during the holiday to relieve my stress. Family members are none the wiser. I always forget that they are closed on Mondays. read more

Saw this on Yelp while looking for places to eat. I got the fried porkchop but asked for gravy on the side, gravy was good and tasted familiar. The Mac & Cheese I regretted getting cause the only flavor i got was from the cheese. The dish wasnt complete, I recommend trying another side. The sweet potato was good, perfect as a dessert. The oxtail was good it was served on a bed of rice, husband asked for rice as a side but was told that the dish comes with rice already. If you want more rice with your oxtail get the side of rice. The green beans was good, good flavor. We got the dinner roll on our plate but we ordered the cornbread. We had to tell the server that we got the wrong thing and she said they ran out of the cornbread, which we didnt mind. They should have told us that they were out prior to or as they were serving the food and not make us ask. We also ordered a sweet potato pie for dessert at the end of our meal we got the check but we didnt get the pie, we had to tell them to take it out of the receipt cause apparently they "ran out" again. They eventually was able to find a piece and we took it home.
