Pulled Pork with fries
Allen H.

Traveling and stopped for early dinner. We've been to Jim and Nicks in other locations before. This is the newer walk-thru and order style and they bring it to your table. Staff was friendly and establishment was clean. Ordered a couple pulled pork sandwiches, one with fries and the other with baked beans. Also came with 4 cheddar rolls. Both sandwiches were of good value and size. I prefer a hotter sauce than the regular bbq available on the tables. If you're the same, I highly recommend you request their sweet and spicy (habanero) sauce. It is perfect for this sandwich. Overall a great experience and so very tasty. Stop in if you're in the area.

This place hit the spot. You order at the front and they deliver the food to your table. Food was fresh and delicious. I had the combo plate with brisket and chicken. I could have used more bbq sauce. The cornbread muffin was tasty and the meal was very filling.

So we wanted to try something new and this was always a let's try one day so we did. Just coming in was really nice and felt comfy. The service was amazing and "Ariel" was my favorite. She heard yelling to my husband about getting more cheese biscuits and she was awesome and for us more and I devoured those. We got the pulled pork plate with baked beans and potato salad and the hub got 1lb ribs with flavored corn and Mac and cheese. Everything was so goof and flavorful. The only thing was our meat was hardly even Luke warm so that was a bummer but still was delicious. We would definitely come back here on service alone. If you haven't tried this place you need to asap.

Mac and Cheese with brisket

Ok. Walking in feels like Texas, smells like good BBQ. I got the brisket topped mac and cheese, this was super good. Not a lot of fatty pieces which I appreciated! Service was great, they were all very sweet and helpful!

Spare ribs 2 Lbs

The Spare ribs wow! Shouldve gotten 1 lb, 2 lbs is enough for 2-3 people~. A bit on the salty side but overall decent ribs. The star of the show of course are the biscuits!! Service is so nice going table to table. Nice atmosphere, play some music

BURNED, HARD RIBS

I really don't like this location. First, it's walk up order then depend on the waitress to get your food to you. Second, no one at the bar to make drinks. Third, MY GOT DAMN RIBS WERE BURNED & HARD. Very disappointed in this chain not chain. I'd really hyped this place up to my friend & was proud to take her here. Not this location. Back to Charleston I go. Will never be back to this new age, not good locale.

Food: 4.5/5 Interior: 5/5 Customer Service: 5/5 We stopped here on our trip back from a wedding in Waynesboro. I ordered a loaded potato with brisket and it was very good. My husband ordered baby back ribs, Mac and cheese. He enjoyed his meal as well. This is a nicer casual diner where you pay before eating. Although we didn't order any alcohol, the bar area is very nice. They have coat/purse hooks and cozy ambiance. The bartender was very friendly and she held open the front door for us and checked with customers to see if they needed anything since it was early and the bar was not busy yet. The southern states really do have good hospitality compared to a lot of the West coast. If I ever find myself in Georgia again, I would likely stop here.

Half honey habanero and half buffalo

3 of us dropped in for a late dinner - we ordered pulled pork sandwiches and half honey habanero wings and half buffalo. We added a side of onion rings. You order at a counter and it's fast casual - the food was delivered by friendly servers fairly quickly. You get your own drinks at a fountain. Wings were good - honey habanero were the best - not too spicy but a nice sweet heat. The glaze gave it a nice texture too. The buffalo were a bit dry - not a wet sauce, per se. A decent blue cheese accompanied along with a few slivers of carrots and celery. My dining mates liked their pulled pork and we all had some little cornbread (?) muffins. The onion rings were okay - it was a different batter; almost like a panko? But they were crispy and held together nicely through a bite. (Versus falling apart) Brisket is the real test of a bbq place, but I was not up for it - so my review is a bit incomplete for a bbq joint. Restaurant was clean and service was friendly. I'd go back!

Brisket, pulled pork , bbq chicken, Mac n cheese

I was craving some bbq and wanted to try out this new spot in town.Ssome people have told me it's good at the other locations they've been to so I was excited to try this. We got the 3 meat platter with the pulled pork, mixed fatty and lean brisket, and bbq chicken, along with Mac and cheese and fries. I thought the pulled pork didn't have much flavor, and the brisket was okay, but surprisingly my favorite was the chicken. It was tender and well smoked. The flavor was great! Mac and cheese was also good, and the cheddar biscuits were great as well. I didn't really care for any of the bbq sauces. Lots of seating area and the building looked nice and clean. Portion sizes were on the small size and prices were slightly expensive for what you get. If I come here again I would get the chicken, Mac and cheese, and cheddar biscuits.

loaded baked potato with brisket
Crystal C.

Same as everyone else...I love the cheese rolls here! Be warned that they are addictive and will keep you coming back for more. I love the loaded baked potato here...I always sub for brisket instead of the pork bbq because that's just my preferred cut. It does cost extra. Never tried it with the pork bbq bit would never go back...the combination of the brisket tips with crispy bacon is perfect with the soft fluffy baked potato. Comes with 2 cheese rolls...and I'll usually order an extra half-dozen. The brisket by itself is tender and flavorful...also really like the chicken Jalepeno sausage...they sell them as add-on by the link now so I don't have to buy weight-based. I usually get the potato every 1-2 weeks. I always say I'll try something different...but never really stray away from this potato. I try loaded ones from other places but its never the same....Even got my coworkers hooked on it. Hubby gets the pork BBQ and it's pretty good...tender and flavorful. Cozy ambiance and friendly workers...service is great. Food always ready when I order online...quick and easy service. Family friendly atmosphere.

Pulled pork and double fruit side
Jenelle S.

Went there for lunch with a party of 8. There wasn't enough room for us to sit together inside so we were seated on the patio which is not ideal during pollen season but the outdoor tables and seating had been cleaned pretty well so it ended up not being too bad. They did have outdoor heaters that they turned on at our request. The service was professional and polite. The food was better than expected. They had gluten-free options. I had the JNN Classic Pulled Pork with two sides of fresh fruit. The fresh fruit was actually cold and fresh, which didn't seem to happen often at restaurants. Fresh fruit was strawberries, blueberries and green grapes. The pulled pork was generously sized and was moist, but didn't come with much sauce. The children's meal came with a drink and had nice sized portions.

I'm picky about BBQ, as are most southerners, because everyone has the BBQ they grew up with to set…read morethe standard and that varies tremendously geographically! But South Carolina has the best BBQ of all the southern states when you can find the right stuff. BBQ Barn is the right stuff. They've got pulled pork with quality sauces, hash similar to what I make myself (therefore excellent), delicious southern sides, sweet (and unsweet) tea, various other meats (their burnt ends are yum!) and some desserts that look great but I haven't tried yet. They also aren't a buffet style restaurant which is a great thing in my opinion. They have a good amount of seating but I don't think they'll fit lots of large groups so keep that in mind. They do have a drive thru and you can order food to go. Unfortunately, they are also like other good BBQ places in their limited hours; they are only open Wednesday-Saturday each week so they can't be Sunday dinner or Monday emergency dinner unless you plan well ahead. The staff are nice and the restaurant is always clean enough. When we aren't making our own barbecue, we are probably getting barbecue from BBQ Barn (or the only other good bbq spot in the CSRA).

My first two visits were only 24 hours apart because it was so good. This time I experienced the same delicious food and quick service. I am impressed by the quality of the food (so fresh) and how kind everyone is here. I like to ask what they recommend, because the desserts change and the cashier was sweet and indulged my questions. I also can't speak highly enough if the sauces. I am a big fan of the spicy georgia red bbq sauce. The gold is also great, just a mustard flavor. I'm tempted to buy a bottle the next time I visit. My recommendation - Come visit on a warm day. Order a platter of food (2 meats will give you plenty of leftovers) and a slice of cake. Sit at the outside tables and enjoy. There are fans outside if it's too warm.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Order - Augusta Location (Grubhub)…read more I placed a dinner order this evening from your Augusta location through Grubhub. The order included: Two-meat option (beef with hickory sauce, pork with sassy sauce) Coleslaw Baked beans Six wings with sassy sauce Blue cheese dressing The order arrived in approximately 35-40 minutes, which was acceptable. However, when I opened the bag, several items were missing and the food quality was unacceptable. There were: No utensils No napkins No blue cheese dressing No hickory sauce Additionally, the meats were cold, the baked beans were barely warm, and the coleslaw was not at an appropriate chilled temperature. When I called the restaurant to report the issue, the person who answered stated, "I didn't bag your order." When I suggested that someone should look into who did, she laughed. That response was more disappointing than the food itself. This experience reflects poorly not only on this location, but on your brand as a whole. I will not be ordering again from this Augusta location or any of your other restaurants. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Keith Smith

The food still felt authentic and full of true Hawaiian flavor. Coming from a family with roots in the Big Island and Maui, I can appreciate when a place captures that genuine island-style taste and atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was how they start you off with fresh in-house made pork rinds, similar to how Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa when you sit down. It was a unique and welcoming touch. We ordered the spicy poke, Spam musubis, and a mixed BBQ plate with two scoops of mac salad. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The mac salad especially had that classic island-style taste that's hard to find done right. The staff was friendly, the decor looked great, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting feel. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for authentic Hawaiian comfort food.

It had that perfect char on the outside while staying incredibly flavorful and moist inside. Definitely the star of the meal. The chicken was just as impressive. Well-seasoned. Perfectly cooked. Every bite was tender with a hint of sweetness and that signature Hawaiian-style barbecue flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Don't overlook the rice. Soft. Moist. Buttery. It soaked up every bit of flavor from the meats and tied the whole plate together. Simple, but done exactly right. The restaurant was busy, which speaks to how popular it is. The staff looked a little overwhelmed during the rush, and you could tell an extra set of hands would've helped. Even so, everyone remained friendly, worked hard, and never let the quality of the food slip. If you're willing to be a little patient during peak hours, you'll be rewarded with a meal that's absolutely worth the wait. It's giving... the kitchen clocked in while the dining room was playing catch-up.

First I'll discuss the food (excellent), then service and comfort (pretty good), and finally move…read moreon to other factors (amusing but also disturbing). I've been disappointed by too many barbecues, even in the South where they are known for the genre. Patriot Smokehouse restored my faith that great barbecue must still exist. I got a 2 meat platter with two sides. Since I was camping I also ordered an extra meat and two more sides to go. Plenty for the lunch and two more meals the next days. All the meats were very good to excellent, fork tender but not falling apart, lots of smoky flavor and visible "bark". And each meat had a completely different spice rub, which I learned were all designed in house. I have a lot to cover so just a few words on each: Pulled pork: a good mix of mostly chopped with not much shreds; lots of flavor even without adding sauce. Brisket (the 2nd of my two-meat platter): tender and fork-cuttable, a bit too thinly sliced for my liking. Baby-back ribs: maybe the best I've ever had. No disagreeable gristly parts, and with an unusual "hammy" flavor (maybe from brining?) Sauces: they have 4 sauces, and they bring you as many as you request. All invented in house. A tomato-based, a mustard-based, a vinegar based, and an extra hot&spicy. I tried all but the vinegar and liked them all but especially the mustard. Now the sides. Potato salad: the potato chunks were not overcooked, a bit mayonnaisey but excellent due to the tanginess and bite of the mustard and who knows what else? Fried okra: well, I had to try it, and if you're determined to eat okra (rather than use it to thicken a gumbo) then fried is the only way - and they nailed it. Baked beans: sauce thick, sweet, and smoky, not the best not the worst. Garden salad (don't judge me; I needed some greens): nothing special; just iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes and onions, with shredded cheese; choice of dressing (I had Italian) Quantities: All sides were of reasonable size. The 2-meat platter wasn't balanced though; more than enough pulled pork and not enough brisket. The ribs: a half rack (how many is that - 6?) Other foods: The pecan pie was excellent with sufficient pecans on top, a filling that was not oversweetened, and a good crust. The strawberry pie: not what I expected. It wasn't a fruit filling but more like a mousse. Good for what it was, but I wouldn't order it again. Surprisingly they do not sell cornbread. Drinks: Lemonade, sweet tea, or ice coffee all come with the meal. Free refills on drinks. I got lemonade which was a bit weak but not too sweet. I don't think they serve alcohol. Service: Took slightly longer than I expected but she (cashier, waitperson, mother of the two chef brothers) did come by with a drink refill and kept me updated. She was pleasant and answered my questions about the restaurant's history and other things when asked. Ambience: first thing that struck me was the smoke. The first time I stopped by (to check it out for the next day as I had just eaten) they must have had a slight smoker malfunction because it was visibly wafting through the room - but not too thickly. Ahh, wood smoke and meat drippings; enticing! That's when I knew I had to come back. The room was concrete floored, wood trim stained by years of smoke, plank tables with clear vinyl coverings. Real silverware was provided and plenty of napkins. There was a TV but it was small and the sound was off. It was playing "Fail Army" the whole time which was fun! The music was alt-country, old rockabilly, and bluegrass; a nice mix. I should stop now but I won't. On to the "other factors". As you can guess from the name "Patriot Smokehouse" there's a theme here. American flags, "Don't Tread On Me", and the waitress/mother was wearing a silly red/white/blue hat and a shirt saying "God, Country, and Freedom" or something to that effect. The symbols abounded, covering the walls. It wasn't all cliché though. A poster titled "Weapons Of the American Revolution" provided at least some interesting reading, and a cartoon of a chicken, pig, and cow titled "Cluck, Oink, Moo" was cute. But then there's the sign on the front door "Lawfully Concealed Weapons Are Welcome Here". That sign is not a joke. Of course they are - and that's fine. But do you have to spell it out in big bold letters and offend those who might be uncomfortable about this? Some compassion would be appreciated. The newspaper review on the wall described it as "unabashadly patriotic" but that's not patriotism - it is jingoism. Want to make America great? That takes compassion, empathy for people different from yourselves, and humility. Judging by the theme here I don't expect that a move to "greatness" if it happens will start here. But I loved the food, enjoyed my conversation with the mother, and the people watching. I'd unhesitatingly come back and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Love this place but this week it was the second time we have been recently and there has been no…read moreBBQ available. I came at around 3pm but it's advisable to come earlier when they open at 11:30am cause the food sells out fast! They have ribs, chicken, turkey wings, pork chop, and so much more. I got the smokehouse chicken with hash and rice with mac and cheese. The chicken is smoked to perfection and you get good flavor all the way through the whole piece of chicken. It's really tender too and tastes even better with the bbq sauce. The chicken has the best smokey flavor that I've never had anywhere else before. The hash and rice is also really good with lots of flavor and not too salty at all. The Mac and cheese is great too. I don't know what they put in it but it's delicious. The mango lemonade is perfect to wash everything down with (just a little too sweet for my preference). I definitely want to come back again to try their ribs and pork but I need to remind myself to come earlier so everything won't be sold out by the time I get there.
