    8oz ribeye

Steaks are not very good, they are very thin. I travel all over the country for work and I was in town. I decided to give this place a try. It was very busy, and Maby I just got a fluke but my meal was not very good. But it's the only option in town for steak so what can you do.

    The Crab Cakes are yummm

This is one of my favorites I've always had great service and the food is awesome. The steaks are the best, but you won't go wrong with seafood either. They can do them both. I always stop here if I'm in the area and they are open‼ Great atmosphere, good music, and I love that you can write on the tables ....

Consistently fantastic steaks. That's what you'll get from Big Mike's. I'm a filet guy, and every single time I've been here, my steak has always been cooked exactly like I want it, a perfect medium-rare. The upgrade to the twice baked potato casserole as a side is a must. It is delicious. The only downside for this location is it's rather small capacity, so expect a wait. That being said, it's totally worth it.

This was my first time @ Big Mikes. Now I have been to Thomasville several time and never tried it before. This time I try it and we get a carry out. Well it was a FAIL. First of all they put all three meals in one bag. Second the didn't give us eating utensils. Third we have no condiments. The shrimp was good and the bake potatoe was good the salad was ok. We probably should have dined in but that shouldn't matter. They know people can't eat with their hands and feet. And who has a shrimp with no cocktail sauce or a cheese burger and fries and no ketchup. Although the food was hot the small things make the food GREAT.

We had Felix's Special--Shrimp Remoulade Salad with a grilled pimento cheese and applewood smoked bacon sandwich on sourdough. Both were very good: fresh shrimp, and a well-toasted sandwich with smoky bacon and melted pimento cheese. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. A solid stop if you're passing through Meridian.

Since 1870, Weidmann's has welcomed everyone from railroad workers and weary travelers to soldiers and hometown heroes, earning its place in Mississippi's history. Founded by Swiss immigrant Felix Weidmann, the restaurant opened during Meridian's rise as one of the South's busiest railroad crossroads. During World War I, the restaurant temporarily relocated to Hattiesburg to help feed the thousands of soldiers training at nearby Camp Shelby. One of its quirkiest traditions is the complimentary peanut butter and crackers brought to every table. During World War II, butter rationing led the restaurant to serve peanut butter and crackers instead. Customers loved it so much that the tradition continues more than 80 years later. In 1935, when brothers Al and Fred Key took to the skies in their airplane, Ole Miss, they weren't just chasing a world record--they were trying to save Meridian's airport from closing during the Great Depression. They spent an unbelievable 653 hours and 34 minutes--more than 27 days--without landing. They stayed aloft by pioneering air-to-air refueling techniques. Their record stood until astronauts aboard Skylab surpassed the duration in space in 1973. One of the celebrations honoring their historic flight took place right here at Weidmann's, forever connecting the restaurant to one of aviation's greatest achievements. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and they were outstanding. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the grits were creamy and full of flavor, and every bite tasted fresh and homemade. Of course, you can't leave without trying their famous peanut butter and crackers--a tradition that's become part of the restaurant's history. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was warm and full of character, and you can tell they take pride in preserving this historic landmark. If you appreciate great Southern food and places with a story to tell, Weidmann's is absolutely worth the stop.

Service was awesome and our server was super sweet. We even forgave her for the Auburn sweatshirt she wore. She was going to school there, so it made sense. The food was good. It is nothing fancy, but it was executed well. Sometimes simple foods done right are the best and the hardest to do. The menu has things like fried pickle appetizers, burgers, simple steaks and catfish. I liked it. I don't always need to be fancy, but this is fancy for this community. I am from Arkansas so I know this type of fancy. I imagine this place is jam-packed at prom and around holidays. Look, this is probably the best restaurant in the county, at least one of them. This is rural country. I respect that. I am a redneck at heart, and by my rearing in Arkansas. I grew up in the woods. This is high end country cooking. The house is also beautiful. The staff are friendly and accommodating too. We had a good time. You should too.

They do not have a kids menu or kids cups, etc, so know that ahead of time. The food is very good, I frequently get the ribeye as I did this time and it is always cooked. Good with a nice, char flavor. The menu is a bit limited from what you might expect, but that is due to the location and resources, I'm sure. We got the fried pickle appetizer and they were very fresh and homemade and delicious. The entrées were both delicious as well as the black bottom pie we got for dessert. Our server was very friendly and attentive, as were the hosts of the restaurant. This is a great experience for a fancy dinner in the middle of nowhere. Definitely recommend you give it a try.

The chef needed to par boil until tender before cooling down... all this before hitting the deep fryer. Flavor was good, but tough and chewy. My 14 OZ Delmonico Ribeye was cooked a perfect medium-rare, had great flavor, and overall was a quality cut of beef. The garlic mashed potatoes were served hot and fluffy, but they were not a stand-out, just your average mashed potatoes. They were real, though... when others uses instant. Props for that. My seared green beans were hot and fresh and tasty and very good. Now the bad..... 1. I called hours in advance and asked about making a reservation and was advised that they don't take reservations. Wrong answer.... yes they do. We waited for about 20 minutes but were in no rush, but we observed a few other couples announcing they had a reservation and they were seated ahead of us..... so whomever answered the phone and advised that Edgers does not take reservations,,,,,, yes you do! 2. Service was fast but not good. The server did not come around to offer re-fills on our very empty beverage glasses.... and she brought the dinner rolls well after dinner had started as she admitted she forgot. She did not suggestive sell a desert and instead just brought us our check. 3. There is no music and the dining room is loud because you sit on top of a concrete floor with chipped paint everywhere.... cheap and nasty looking, not worthy of a steakhouse. The cheap turquoise curtains dragging on the floor covering the metal blinds are tacky at best. The hostess station is pure 1971, needs ripped out. 4. The décor was horrendous. They advise "casual country club attire", which is very funny as many, ahem, "gentleman" in the dining room had on various baseball caps... one guy was in flip-flops... and this place is not even in the same county as anything close to a country club vibe.... 5. While they do have cloth table cloths and napkins, sitting in this very poorly decorated and run down less than cafeteria atmosphere reminded me of sitting in the middle of a 1970s funeral parlor show room. I was looking for a casket with a dead guy laying in it.... 6. Presentation needs a complete revamp! No water served, no garnish of any kind, really nothing "nice" about this place except for the funeral flowers sitting in the middle of the converted garage, I mean dining room.... Great food. Quality food. Service provided by staff who would not know how to do a wine service, a staff who are very nice people, but a staff who have never eaten in a fancy restaurant in a first-class city like New York, Boston or San Francisco... foodie environments. Is this a prom date destination? NO Is this a place to impress your date? NO Is this a place to have a business dinner with a new or perspective client? H&%$ NO Is this a place that is no frills with decent food? Sure.... go for the steaks but nothing else....
