I've never given a review before but after my experience I have to. Terrible. I got a flat tire on my truck so I put my spare on and ordered 3 new tires through Big O. Asked for them to be installed and balanced, I also asked for an oil change, filters and alignment as well. Got a call that my tires were in and ready to be put on. After waiting 2 hours, they finally decided to tell me that they ordered the wrong tires. No big deal, mistakes happen. Go back a few days later have them installed and my total bill was just shy of $1,800. Expensive tires, I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. However, when I got in my truck to drive home my truck was shaking like crazy, the tires were never balanced. So I turned around and told them they needed to balance my tires and I was not happy. Over an hour went by and they still hadn't even begun to balance my tires like I had paid and asked for. Frustrated, I left and brought my truck to someone else to balance them. Few days go by and I noticed that ALL 3 of my NEW tires weren't holding air. Brought my truck back to where I had it balanced and spoke with the mechanic and he told me that ALL 3 tires were leaking from the stem which had been damaged and needed to be replaced. Waste of time and money. Beyond slow and kept telling me they're "short staffed". They're be better off having "no staff" and closing up shop and finding a different career path. Went in for flat repair Started taking off wrong tire, until I said something. Damaged surface of rim by putting tire irons directly on rim. Didn't charge for flat repair, but I would rather have paid and not have iron marks on rim. read more

We were on a 12 hour road trip when the tire pressure warning light came on near Trinidad CO. Big O people saved the day. The tire was not repairable with a nail in the sidewall. To start, I am new to the Trinidad area and didn't know where to go for oil changes, tire rotation and repairs for my 2001 Subaru Forester. After being scammed $90.00 for diagnostics at J.M. TIRE INC (only to be told, they can't get the part/ fix the problem)(out $90.00). Then going to Walmart for basic oil change/ tire rotation and having to sign a contract stating "I would have their work checked by another establishment within 1,000 miles", I took my car next door to BigO. They were trying to close up for the day but the guys in the shop were SO NICE and helped me (checked my lugnuts/ Walmart's work) anyway I decided then and there that they would have my business next time I needed services. So I went in for an oil change and brake inspection due to heavy summer driving/ vacations in and out of CO sketchy mountain passes. Charlie was sympathetic to my past horrible experiences w Walmart and J.M. TIRE INC here in Trinidad that he personally checked out my brakes. Reported ALL CLEAR for now and that my brakes are safe and the oil change was done in roughly 20 minutes. BigO knows what customer service is all about. Helpful, honest, efficient, nice people who know what they are doing and treat you respectfully. I barely had time to eat my lunch they were so fast. Not only did they charge me for fixing a flat which they said they couldn't fix because it was on the side wall, they then proceeded to charge me $203.00 for a new tire! On the first day of a weeklong road trip, 200 miles from home, my TPMS alerted me to what turned out to be a nail puncture. A nearby Shell station directed me to Big O. Once the problem had been diagnosed, I asked if they could repair the tire. A key point: I drive a car that has run-flat tires (instead of a spare). I was informed that they could not repair a run-flat tire. OK... "I guess you'd better sell me a couple of new tires then, so I can get underway." I was (correctly) reminded that on an AWD vehicle, all the tires should be replaced together to avoid undue stress on the drivetrain. OK... "Well, I guess you'd better sell me four new tires, then." (Gulp. This is gonna be $1,000 I hadn't budgeted for. Probably more.) Only when the employee discovered he didn't have suitable tires in my size to sell me did he admit that, yes, he really could repair my leaking tire... for $9.99. To his credit, he did the repair, and I'm still driving on it 900 miles later. It would have been nice, however, for him to have provided the "straight talk" his business card promised, up front. read more

I had my FJ 60 /land cruiser in, asked for Oil service change. To Engine, Transmission, Transfer case, Front and rear differentials and Coolant flush. Had it over to a friends place today, looking at the brakes and had it up on his lift. He was aware of the service and pointed out, that the nut for Transmission, fill and drain plug had not been touched and it would have required removal of skid plate, these nuts not touched as well. Charged 10 quarts of Automatic Transmission fluid. Well, I have a standard 5 speed, H55 that requires 4.9 ltr/ 5 quarts. Drove to them and gave a brief explanation of these findings and with no argument was refunded the $134.12 charge. Me and my Mother whom have serviced our vehicles there for several years, will no longer give them our business. Will gladly share this with friends and colleges, reason to go elsewhere. read more

DO NOT USE THIS STORE FOR ANYTHING! I took my brand new car with 1700 miles on it to them for a simple nail patch. They screwed up the bead on the tire, and after four return trips to the store to fix it, they refuse to take responsibility for their mistake. All I got in reply when I asked what I should do was a shoulder shrug. I had one of the managers tell me that "there are a lot of potholes in town" and try to pass it off. The tire was flat again less than 24 hours after they finished the nail patch. Now I'm on the hook for a new $140 tire. When telling people what happened, I've gotten stories of inept workers, terrible customer service, and price gouging back. If you need any kind of tire work or service, the Toyota dealer down the road from this shop is far more reputable. read more

During a recent vacation to Colorado I had a tire blow out on my pop up camper just a couple miles outside of Trinidad, CO. We called around and the person at Big OTires assured us they could get us back on the road. After waiting a couple of hours for our turn, they finally mounted our tires. I was immediately alarmed at how much the tires bulged. The tires looked very under-inflated. My rig is big and requires tires with a max load rating of at least 1600 lbs. I looked at the tires just installed and they were only in the 1300 lb range. I questioned why under rated tires had been installed. Apparently that was all they had to offer. After some time I was assured the tires were what they 'always' install on trailers regardless of size and that a call had been made to a local rv/pop up camper dealer and they had agreed the tires were ok. We had no choice but to take the tires just so we could continue our trip to Colorado Springs but those tires looked like they were going to blow any time. We ended up calling around in Colorado Springs and found Pep Boys had tires rated at over 1700 lbs. Those are the tires currently installed on my camper. I was grateful Big O had tires to put on my camper but alarmed they were so carefree regarding my safety by installing under rated tires. I would have respected them more if they had refused to install anything because of the safety concerns. read more
