If I could give 0 stars I would. Janet at the front desk might be the meanest lady I've ever met. In hindsight, we didn't realize it was private property and we should have checked before. She did not give me the time of day to explain our reasoning for being on the property. Overall very negative experience and I would not recommend visiting this park. read more

We stayed here in the middle of the Covid craziness in a tent and now we have returned in an RV. The same experience both times. Very polite and helpful office people. The entire park is well kept and clean. Both bath houses have secure locks and are so clean. Showers are hot and plenty of room in them to be able to change without getting everything wet. We are in a pull thru lot and the ground is very level. 50 amp power everywhere. Very small table provided along with a small concrete pad. Very close to the lots on both sides. (Could hear the neighbor snoring!) Easy in and out from the busy road. You can hear the road traffic at night. Downside... no pool. read more

My husband was diagnosed with cancer we needed to be close to the facility for treatment for 6 weeks the people who own this campground graciously let us stay for a very reasonable fee and we are so grateful for their kindness! The park is beautiful and quiet and the people are absolutely friendly! I would definitely recommend this place! read more

How hard is it to offer drive through sites that are level? And a dog park that isn't a like a fenced off piece of a dump ground? The lady who checked us in really couldn't care if she was there or not (nor whether we were there or not). 1 star rating was due to the public area, under a HUGE oak tree, was lovely but we didn't get to use it. Let me start this review with the fact that I booked a reservation for 2 nights MONTHS in advance. In addition, I called the night prior to our arrival to confirm, spoke with Kevin and he assured us that we were on the books and he will see us the following day. So now it being the day of arrival, being just an hour away. A lady from the RV park called to say that they cannot accommodate us due to several people extending their stay. The piss poor way of handling this is beyond comprehension!!! Management needs to get it together and not spring this on people that took the time to book in advance. I would highly suggest to take your business elsewhere. Been RVing for a long time and this is the first time coming across such BS ! read more

Very friendly staff and pretty site near Tallahassee city limits. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful for being so close to the city. There is a garden area with swings and lights for night enjoyment. They had electric, water, and sewer hookup. Offer Good San discount. When coming to Tallahassee in the future, we will be staying here. read more

Not happy with my spot, right next to the office. They allow vicious dogs to stay in the park. My dog was attacked by a dog (Lot 21) that went under the dog park fence to get out and attacked my dog and under the fence again after I locked my dog inside to keep it away. The owners of the park do not require proof of vaccinations, which the dog owner did not have. The park owner has allowed the vicious dog to remain in the park and has done nothing to assist me with the situation. Fortunately, my dog was able to defend herself for the most part, one puncture wound and several scratches but if it had been a smaller dog, she would be dead. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PARK ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE PETS! read more

This is where the park excels: They called a day ahead and asked if I was planning on being in the next day. That was a nice touch. The spot 47-A is a nice little back-in spot near HWY 27. It is flat and has large trees over it. The spots all have sewer, electricity, and water. They also have a nice concrete patio on the side. Here is where the park fails: When they called a day ahead asking about tomorrow, I mentioned I would in late... after 7p. The lady on the phone didn't like that and proceeded to explain to me how I must absolutely be in before 7 because she was going to be there to check me in. So we cut our beach trip short in Destin to be at the park by 7p. We got there at 5:30p. There was a sign on the door, "Back in 5 minutes" and had a number to call. I waited 5, then called. No answer. I called two more times, no answer. Since I hadn't paid yet, I decided to leave the park and find somewhere else. As I got in, a tenant rolled up and said all employees were around the corner. So I went to that location... there was no one. As I went to exit, there was life in the office, so I pulled back in. They got me taken care of. I backed into the spot and went to plug in. The regular plugs (20 amp) were both taken. I went to inquire about that. One went to Christmas lights on a gazebo (to the park manager's gazebo, I might add), the other went to Christmas lights on the large tree at the front of my site. They were reluctant to remove any of them but decided the Christmas lights on the manager's personal gazebo would have to be unplugged. As far as I'm concerned, if I'm renting the spot, that includes all power ports on my spot's electric box. If the manager wants Christmas lights on her gazebo in July, she should plug them into her own box. The next day I went to do laundry. 4 washers and 1 was broken. I dumped my clothes in the last two. Then I smelled something awful. One of the washer I threw my clothes into had sewage water at the bottom. I moved those clothes out and into a new washer. Then I told the lady at the counter about it. She didn't seem concerned about it, though she asked me about it, then offered coins to make up for it. I declined. Then she said, "Oh, well they called that in last week". I have washed that load twice and the smell is still there. That would be about $150 in clothes ruined. When I went to dry clothes, I placed a load in the back left dryer. I put in my coins and hit start... nothing. I go to the office to request a refund of those coins. The lady says "Oh, you have to shake and bang that machine to make it work". I repeated it to her because it seemed ridiculous to me. She nodded and I went back. I shook the machine, nothing. I hit the coin box, working. The last fail is the Internet. Some devices won't connect. I am still in this park because there are no refunds. I chose this park because it is the closest to family in Havana, FL and my kids were looking forward to a 4th of July holiday with them. Next time I will look for a better park. I can always drive an extra 10 minutes to see family while staying at a nicer park with cleaner, working facilities. ***UPDATE*** It is our 2nd morning here. It's not even 8:00a and the park has been out cutting grass around all the campsites. I realize that some people actually live here and are away at work right now. But some of us are here on vacation. Perhaps I didn't want to wake up at 7:10a. Maybe I was hoping to sleep in a little bit since it's vacation. This park is batting a thousand in stupidity. read more

We had RV mechanical problems and needed a place to stay while we figured it out. We discussed this with Big Oak and they were willing to work with us. We paid in advance for 3 nights and only needed 2 with the understanding that they would reimburse us if we left early and we would pay for additional nights if we needed to stay longer. In the end, they were completely unwilling to reimburse for the third night we did not use. We should have paid for one night at a time. Beware. read more

Not enough RV parks in the area, it would really make them change their tune. Neat 300 year old trees-all left to their own devices. Nothing is touched under the premise that it is against the city regs to touch the trees because they are protected. Building would be a different story. Showers are very small, very dated. No A/C so you sweat profusely after your shower. Grounds only moderately kept. Convenient to the capital but if there were more choices this place would be out of business. Stayed here 2 nights going to and from New Orleans. Got in just before dark both nights and asked for a pull thru site because I didn't want to unhook from my travel trailer and wanted to leave early the next morning. One of the worst parks we have stayed in. Yes, they were full and L1 was a overflow site but they didn't tell us that. The site had a terrible slope but they didn't tell us that. There was no patio area but they didn't tell us that. A road was on the passenger side and we couldn't put out slide out but they didn't tell us that. The uncovered garbage dumpster was on the other side of the road but they didn't tell us that. We got in late and left early and never were able to speak a staff person. And this is a Good Sam park that charges $40, give me a break! I gave them one star only because we had 30 Amp for our A/C. Next time we'll dry camp at the Cracker Barrel. read more

If you appreciate nature, you will surely appreciate camping beneath the big oaks here. The only thing I was not particularly fond of was the price. I think it is a little high especially given that we did not really need any hookups. The rate was the same($40 with AAA)for full hookup as it was for no hookup. But, I am sure it has alot to do with the area and it is in a conveniant location. We were looking for a place to park in the shade and this is place where you will find it! We were lucky enough to sleep beneath a big, beautiful oak tree that which kept the sun at bay on a hot Florida day! The bathrooms were hot and nothing special but were kept clean. Loved the laundry area here, clean and cool with a TV to watch while folding laundry and a book exchange(my fave!) There was a community patio/picnic area close by our spot that we took advantage off as it was quiet and again, surrounded by the big oaks that I could not get enough of! Everyone was super friendly, fellow campers and staff members. The woman who ran the office(owner I assume) was very welcoming, accommodating and genuinely lovely woman! The staff at this park were friendly and helpful. The sites were large and easy to pull through and remain hooked up. Unlike some parks that you are so close to each other this park gives room between sites. The majestic oaks are so beautiful they form a canopy under which a gazebo sits for relaxing. They have made this into what I would describe as a "secret garden" such a nice spot. The bathroom was clean and my only reason for the 4 stars was because it had only one single stall ladies room so that if someone was in the shower you would have to wait. As noted in a previous review the bathroom is not something out of a design magazine but it was clean, smelled great, and was well stocked what more could you ask for? This also was one of the few rv parks I was actually able to use the internet. While many say they have wireless I have found other parks wifi runs so slowly its pointless. this is not a well kept rv park. its old and shows its age. money has not been used on upkeep. we are full time rv ers . the entrance and exit are reversed and its very hard to know where to enter at night. two tiny bathroom/shower combos. no temp control. no clubhouse, meeting room, pool or anything else. there used to be movies under the big oak trees but I guess it got too overgrown. they were starting to clean it out so you could walk under it. the lady that took care of the plants was very nice. the office staff that I dealt with was very rude and uncaring. I guess the manager has been out sick for a long time and it shows. this same worker has a very cluttered site with several dogs. she does not pick up after them. there is no dog lot or dog run so you must step with caution. most patios are crumbled. only a few new ones. sites are very narrow. be sure to ask for a wide site . new washers but you have to use an outdoor water hose to add water , as it only fills up about 6 inches of water. they will not give change for laundry. tell you to go to the bank/store for change. they are pretty much the only game in town and they know it. not nearly as many trees as seen in pictures on the site. must have lost a lot due to storm or cutting read more
