We had a fantastic experience with Big Pig! They catered our company's annual summer picnic and we couldn't have been happier. We got the Backyard BBQ package with hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and steak tips; all delicious, juicy and tender. They had a wide variety of homemade sauces to choose from, and the sides were a hit -- we chose the smoked corn and black bean salad, potato salad, and green salad. All their staff were friendly and helpful, they left everything spotless and even packed up the leftovers in to-go boxes. The also gifted us with a cute boxed sampler of their BBQ sauces! My roommate is going to be catering a party using Big Pig so we wanted a taste of everything. We tried the brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork, house sausage, and wings. The brisket and house sausage were absolutely delicious. The pulled pork and chicken were good, and the wings were just okay. We recently used Big Pig BBQ/catering for a party with 75 guests. The delivery was on time and the food set up was great. We ordered pulled pork, bbq chicken, brisket, baked beans, corn bread and potato salad. The whole BBQ meal was awesome! Huge portions! Every guest commented about how tasty the food was. If you have an upcoming event, you have to book Big Pig! I took a chance on them for our backyard wedding shower this past weekend without having tried the food beforehand, and they absolutely delivered a first-class experience from start to finish. We chose the on-site BBQ package and also rented the tent, tables, and chairs through them--which made things so much easier by only having to coordinate with one vendor. I also added on the bistro lighting for some extra ambiance, and I'm so glad I did--it looked amazing and took their team 10 minutes to set up (which would've taken us an hour!). Chris, the owner, was incredibly responsive and reassuring. He made it clear that every detail was handled, so I didn't have to worry about last-minute errands for condiments or paper goods. The food was a huge hit--my fiancé said the steak tips were the best he's ever had--and several guests grabbed business cards to book them for their own events. Truly, Big Pig went above and beyond. Big Pig seems to be a friendly cozy New England BBQ spot in Peabody which started off as a catering only business. I accompanied a friend of mine here on a sat afternoon who was doing a marketing collab with them and got to meet a few people running the show. Pitmaster Tony was such a nice guy and gave us a great tour of their offerings and we got to know how they started just before covid hit. The brisket and the stuffed jalapeño wrapped in bacon were the stars. Had a nice juicy brisket after a long time and I see myself stopping by whenever I am traveling up north of Boston. I was not a fan of their bourbon and maple glazed pork belly as they were really sweet however having it with their hot bbq sauce helped cut down the sweetness to some extent. The ribs were good and tender too however felt a tad bit dry by the time we ate it. Not sure if it was because we had it in the end. Maybe have it as soon as it's served. The coleslaw was however a bit overloaded with mayo and the crunch of the cabbage and carrots were lost. They do have 5 different bbq sauce from sweet to hot of varying levels and none of them were ketchupy which was such a happy relief. Most of the bbq sauce turns out to be too much ketchup mixed with paprika but theirs was really balanced. The food they serve do show their care and passion about bbq and can't wait to go back however this times it's gonna be around 11/11:30 AM right when they work their pits to catch those chunks of meat coming out hot. They are also going to open up a drive through which is going to be a great addition. A drive through bbq place for take out? Will take it any day. Definitely recommend them to one and all of you are in Peabody area or even if it's around 15-20 mins. read more

Big Pig is great! We had them cater my wife's 40th birthday and they did a great job. Chris was easy to work with, the on-site staff were very friendly and accommodating, and all the food was fantastic. They worked with us on a custom menu including chicken breast, steak tips, and brisket -- all of which are easy for catering companies to botch -- but Pig Big nailed all of them. Chicken was tender, steak tips were cooked perfect medium, and the brisket was extremely tender and fall-apart. People were texting me about how great the food was even through the next day. Absolutely fantastic! Ate here when the food truck came to park 9. We got three smash burgers, the nachos, and a large fry to share amoung 3 people. It was SO much food. The smash burgers were HUGE and really perfectly made. They had homemade pickles, three patties and special sauce, like a fancy big Mac. The fresh were huge and nicely prepared and the nachos were awesome, with freshly pickled red onion and jalapeños! We were so stuffed after lunch we skipped dinner! We had BBQ delivered for a graduation party. They showed up on time, and set everything up so there was no work on my part but for putting out the tables. Pay attention to the e-mail they send ahead of time on the space you will need, and that it really does take about 30 minutes for the set up. Excellent. I grew up in Louisiana and Texas, and this checked almost all the boxes. Both of us had the beef brisket sandwich. Tender and piled high. Choose your own sauce. BBQ beans are sweet, tangy with a bit of heat on the finish. My only ding is the sweet tea.
