They got my had hot food on the table for my guests in fifteen minutes. They were friendly, helpful and effective from the tasting to the very end of the wedding day, when the staff went above and beyond to help politely usher guests out of the venue so we could make our curfew on time. Lori and her team are pros. They knew what we wanted and they executed. They even provided a private dinner for my husband and I so that we could have what we heard was impossible: actually enjoy our wedding meal and spend some quality 1:1 time together on our special day. At the tasting, Lori brought out a meal we hadn't even ordered: their melt-in-your-mouth short rib. My dad and my husband tried it and after one bite, they knew we had to have it on the menu. Most of our guests got it, and it was a smash hit. I had their incredible baked haddock with mashed potatoes and green beans almandine -- out of this world. The signature salad was perfect. Our vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free guests were delighted by their Mediterranean pasta dishes and food allergy guests were accommodated and well fed, as well, from apps to dessert. The bar served up our signature drinks with precision and flair, working in our embossed cocktail napkins and monogramed stirrers. Picking a caterer can be as stressful as finding a venue. Creative Catering was easy to work with, accessible, and relieved our stresses of planning a meal from 3,000 miles away without the opportunity to visit and have a tasting ahead of time. Lori was attentive to our requests and understanding about our Italian family's needs to have more food than the average wedding! Thank you for pairing back the numbers discreetly . We had specific linen requests, and they were able to liaise with their vendor to find what would work well based on our requests. The servers were attentive, and professional, and the set-up team quick and on the mark, particularly since the chairs did not get setup prior by another vendor as they were supposed to. Lori and her team made the wedding special, and everyone at the reception really enjoyed the appetizers and meal (Italians will not lie about liking food ). The catering team also made sure that we had a plate of appetizers to enjoy post-ceremony before joining the party. This team is professional, fully setup/packed up in a timely manner, and had a large enough staff to provide seamless service. They have a huge menu selection, prices are reasonable and I appreciated that they worked with our budget. Leading up to the wedding we went to a great group tasting and also met with the current owner in person to walk through our venue and go over the initial timeline. I was impressed they took the time to meet with us to ensure they understood our vision. We appreciated all the time spent answering our questions and patience with all our changes to the menu. Creative Catering was so wonderful! They catered my wedding at Smith Barn. Gary was great to work with--I suggest you listen to all he has to say, he has a lot of experience and some really awesome ideas to share. But he is also not pushy, which is important, because there's nothing more annoying than having someone tell you what they think you should do for your wedding. On the day of they were absolutely fabulous. My dad was a professional chef for years (and hard to impress) so I was ready for him to make no comment about the food at all, and even he came up to me to say how great the food actually was. It was not typical "wedding food", it was actually really delicious. The staff were all so nice too. And honestly, they did not break the bank for us. This past weekend, we had a house and garden party for 75 people. We made our caterer selection on line finding their website and offerings to be to our taste. Such the right decision! Creative Catering couldn't have pleased us more. Each item on our menu was delicious and our guests raved about each and every one. The service was also excellent and exactly as planned with no overlooked details. While this was a relatively casual affair, my friends commented that the catering was as good as that of any wedding they had attended. Particular favorites among the hor d'oeuvres were crispy asparagus with asiago, lemon soy swordfish kabobs and fig and gorgonzola tarts. The carved beef tenderloin and grilled chicken crostinis were to die for and I LOVED the french fries (very crispy.) We highly recommend Creative Catering of Beverly- attentive, detail oriented, unobtrusive, arrived early and set right to work, competent in all areas, friendly, flexible. So, it may seem strange to write a review for a caterer whose food you never even tasted. My fiancé and I were scheduled to get married in Gloucester on November 6th of this year. Upon the venue's recommendation, we checked out Creative Catering. Of all the caterers that they worked with, these guys had the most extensive & diverse offerings at the most reasonable costs. And many of their selections catered to "real people". Yes, there were certainly some fancier options and a few things I couldn't quite pronounce. But we were drawn to items like "Mini Grilled Cheese Sandwiches With Tomato Soup Chasers" & "Scallops With Bacon & Pineapple". From appetizers to carving stations to pasta, soups, salads, mini sandwiches, entrees, desserts and more, it was very difficult to choose only a few! That is where Gary (the owner) stepped in. We set up a meeting with him and he chatted with us for a good hour or so, explaining the different options and helped devise a plan that fit our budget and provided the most "bang for our buck". It was perfect. He was so friendly, helpful & enthusiastic. He even gave us advice on details we hadn't even considered. We left there feeling excited and confident we had made the right choice. Then my fiancé got sick. He was unexpectedly diagnosed with a very serious illness and planning a big wedding for November just became more than we could manage or prioritize. I emailed Gary and explained what was happening and that we needed to cancel. He was so incredibly sympathetic & understanding. He refunded us our full amount without question and even sent an extra email later just checking in on us. Just a great, great guy. Hopefully someday I will be able to enjoy the "Nacho Station" that I so looked forward to. Until then, please order one for YOUR wedding in our honor. read more

Catering to 500 can be quite an experience. Most of my experiences with large catered affairs tend to be a sampling of not enough food, luke warm at best, and never seasoned correctly. Doing stations with inexperienced help and watching the event organizer chase the caterer for information; help or complaints. Through the years I have watched Barbara and Gary run one of the best services in New England. Yea there might be some more elegant or gourmet but I also might know how extreme than can get. My tastes due to the events I need catered tend to be much less complex than my own tastes, but then I think simple can be done well. Last night, Saturday December 4, Creative catered to my 450 guests. About 75 more than expected and there was food for everyone! Appetizers were mushroom profiteroles, coconut shrimp, lamb lolly pops,a crispy veggie dumpling, scallops in bacon, spicy chicken quesidilla, steak skewers, and more. With this crowd simple is good and lot's of it better. The pinot noir, champagne, and select beers were flowing, and the bartenders taxed but exceptional as everyone wanted a refill at the same time. There was Barbara and Gary managing, directing and keeping an eye out for any imperfections. Terrific management style that should be copied. Gary told me a story about how they decide about good food and they actually look in the receptacles to see what was thrown out. Seeing too much of one thing tells them....check what happened or off the menu. Simple. Decorations were holiday terrific. Real lighted XMAS trees, holiday figures, and properly attired staff. Tables dressed in colorful holiday colors and all perfectly arranged with candle lit centers. Main courses we keep even as simple with pasta stations of 3 or 4 selections and then carving stations of turkey, pork and tenderloin to make delicious sandwiches. Oh then there were the customized sundaes, blueberry and apple cobbler and peppermint ice cream............!!!!!! Best of all, when it's over....clean as a whistle was my facility and a great night had by all. read more

My younger daughter got married this weekend and had Creative Catering handle their wedding. From the drinks on the patio to the bar to the food, the service was exceptional. It started to rain while we were on the patio and they seamlessly moved us into the dining room where the service continued. The food was amazing. the canapes were wonderful. As an event planner for an organization of 350 people, I'm under some pressure to put on an impressive meal. I also have a lot of personal food service experience from my prior career in the hospitality business. Regarding Creative Catering, Inc. - I have never experienced better event management, staff service, food quality, or professionalism than I received from Chris and Gary and their crew. From the moment that Event Coordinator Gary came for an advance visit to our facilities, I felt at ease and knew that he understood the image I needed to present without going over budget. His and Peggy's communications by email were excellent, and they were patient with my guest number/entree changes as the event approached. On the day of the dinner, their full-service truck galley arrived. I met Chris - extremely pleasant owner and hands-on chef; Troy and Bob - personable and professional chefs whose only mission was my satisfaction; and kind and calm Kiera, who managed the event hall details/staff and was at ease with my every last minute change or request. Their waitstaff is so crisp and polished and friendly - they set up/transformed the hall beautifully with attention to every detail. So many of my guests expressed how pleasant the staff was (a grumpy server can really dampen a dinner - no grumps here!). The presentation of the hors d'oeuvres included a beautiful flower arrangement I hadn't expected - one of the staff made it up on the spot with some flowers that were donated. The many details, like the pin draping of linen on the tables, and the artful display of appetizer dips and fruits - impressed everyone. One of my biggest concerns was the timing of the dinner - I wanted all 110 guests to get their dinners very hot within a very short time, and Creative Catering exceeded my expectations. Many guests told me that Creative Catering was the best caterer they had ever experienced at our club or anywhere, for that matter. Their beautiful mesclun salad with fruits and nuts got rave reviews; the entrees were artfully plated; portions were very generous, special requests were quickly and pleasantly accommodated. The staff, after working so hard, courteously stayed late until the band finished before undressing the tables (and even removed some of our own linens and stored them safely for me). The staff used our galley for some of their food prep, and it was in pristine condition after they left. Considerate, courteous, outstanding in every way. Creative Catering will definitely being doing our next events, and I hope that anyone who is considering using them has faith in my review that they will not be disappointed. read more

We had them cater our wedding on August 17th, the food was delicious & the wait staff was kind & courteous. We received numerous compliments on the portion size, as well as the taste. The food makes the event, so we were happy. They were also helpful leading up to our wedding, with many tips to help our day run smoothly. We chose a beef that was not at our tasting so the next time they made it they gave us a call so we could pick a big portion up for free to try.... it was delicious. Creative just catered my wedding at The Elks Bass Rocks in Gloucester. They were great to work with from the beginning. Last year they invited us to a lovely sit down dinner for a tasting. There were tables set up just like they would be at a real dinner and other people were there to taste their food. They then brought out a few appetizers and served entrees up through dessert. The food was really good and Gary went around and talked to everyone. He had great ideas and advice. He was very personable and friendly. We worked with Gary and Creative over the year leading up to our wedding. They were very accommodating and organized. Barbara was the event coordinator at the wedding and she was lovely. Everyone raved about the food - it was delicious! The servers were very friendly and worked really hard. Some of them brought the bridal party some apps outside while we were taking pics. We had our wedding at Hammond Castle which limited our choice of caterers to three. Creative Catering was the only one that hosted a free food tasting event which we were so grateful for because their food really is delicious. They were also the cheapest! Gary, whom we worked with, was extremely nice and responsive. He kept giving us suggestions and advice for the wedding. We were also surprised that he offered that they'd make a signature drink for our wedding provided that we give them the recipe and liquor. On our wedding day we didn't hear of any issues and the food was brought out promptly and warm. It was also very good and cooked well which was a worry because one of the dishes was filet mignon. Many guests complimented the food as well. Although we absolutely loved the food and are guests were very happy, we were disappointed with the service towards us - the bride and groom. Gary told us that when the ceremony was over, he would make sure that there was food in the bridal suite and something to drink since he knows how busy it can get after the ceremony and he wanted us to enjoy the appetizers. Well, the food or drinks were never there. We had to ask people from our wedding party to grab some for us and by the time they were able to go down, many of the appetizers had run out. I was really disappointed to not be able to try everything. Plus, we were never given a glass of our signature drink either. Gary also promised us that he would grab us when our main entrée was served so that we wouldn't miss out on eating it. This was also never done. Luckily my maid of honor was able to pull us away from our guests. Finally, the waitress for our sweetheart table wasn't very attentive. She wouldn't come by that often and at one point we had to actually walk to the bar to get our own drinks. This should never be the case for the bride and groom. Creative Catering truly is a find as a wedding vendor. We were referred to Gary Clemenzi and his staff by our venue's event coordinator. We could not have been any more pleased by their process and their performance. Creative Catering's menu offerings are extensive and cover a broad range of foods, formal and informal, gourmet and casual. Choices are scalable and Gary offers very useful advice about menu planning, amounts required, as well as about the flow of the evening. Their experience is apparent from the first interaction and their guidance is priceless. I found their timelines to be useful for our own planning, both schedule wise and financially. To get to the heart of the catering matter, the food was beautiful and bountiful in both presentation and taste. We received many, many compliments from appetizers to desserts. I cannot say enough GREAT things about Creative Catering. Starting off with Peggy and Gary! My sister in law and I had a little over 2 weeks to get my in laws 50th wedding anniversary planned at my home. My sister in law spoke with Peggy and from the start she told me she was so calm and very easy to talk to. They gave us up until the Monday prior to the event to give them the head count. Most places needed 2 weeks notice on the head count and most have a min of 30 people. We had 22 people RSVP yes. This made it less stressful and more economical for us to throw a beautiful party. Gary came by to check out the set up of my home about 5 days prior to the event. We walked thru and he had several suggestion and ideas and we discussed "what if it rains, where can we set up tables etc??" He talked me out of renting chairs, which I didn't need. Another cost saving suggestion. The waitstaff was fabulous. They were so attentive and kind. They really listened to us when they arrived while we did a walk thru prior to set up. Now on to the food. The food was delicious. Every single item was so tasty. There was MORE than enough food. At the end of the night, they package up/box up all the leftovers for you. Again, I cannot express enough at how wonderful this company is!
