Bowery Haven Snackshop So you are wandering around Fishlake and realize you are hungry. Now what? There are no sit down restaurants left after Covid and pickings are pretty slim even fir takeout. Luckily there is the Bowery Haven Snack shop. What to like: fresh faced young people taking your order and handing it to you directly when it's done. Most of these folks are college kids from local schools up for the summer to work. Remember that when you tip! They all seem very happy. Burgers. A variety of burgers freshly made to order on a tasty fresh bun. Fries cooked in beef tallow. You can substitute macaroni salad but the fries...Remember how great these were back in the day? They also have a good chicken strip dinner and fish n chips. They have salads as well. Not to miss is their delicious lemonade is multiple flavors and fountain drinks. Top everything off with hand scooped ice cream and believe me the scoops are very generous. The only downside is that everything is a little pricey. However when you consider any alternative is 45 minutes away and the great people, it seems worth it. Plenty of parking and lots of nice souvenirs and fishlake clothes to browse while you wait. We love staying at the bowery every summer! The food is so good and the hotels look so amazing after the remodel! Honestly there aren't many other places I'd rather stay in Fish Lake! Fishing off the shore at the bowery was also amazing! I think we caught almost 60 fish in one day on the free fishing day in May! I don't want to tell you to go because i don't want you to take all the spots! read more

3.5/ 5 stars We enjoyed staying at Bowery Haven in their RV park. We stayed 10 days in space 69. They have cabins to rent, as well. The view of Fish Lake from our site was gorgeous. They have a basic convenience store and restaurant in walking distance. There is also a marina with fishing and pontoon boats and boat slips to rent. You do have to cross the road to go to the marina which is right on the lake. The one serious drawback to the RV park is that the pull-through sites in some rows have big drop offs at the front of the sites. It would not be safe to pull through (which is why you pay extra for a pull through so we and our neighbors had to back out of our sites. I would definitely go back to Bowery Haven. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Kaylie and Danielle were terrific at the front desk and phone when making reservations (finding a site that would fit) and adding days. Shelby was our server a few times in the restaurant and was wonderful helping us. I highly recommend Bowery Haven. read more

Love this place. Rented a cabin for the last three summers. I keep going back because it's easy to reserve online, staff is friendly and it is absolutely breathtaking at Fish Lake. Cabins are clean, their take out food is good. I can hardly wait for November so I can book my week for summer 2024. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here! I was in cabin 19, one of their older cabins. Instead of staying in a tent, we decided to stay here and it was a super fun experience! Sure it's very rustic and old, but I feel like that's all apart of the experience. It provided warmth, running water, and your own toilet. The showers are located away from the cabin, but they give you shower tokens to use for that. If you're looking to go out for a weekend fishing with family, and you want to get away from modern technology, it's a great place to bond with one another. Between the two bedrooms they have wood boards, so it offers some privacy but it's not sound proof at all. I was personally totally fine with it. Overall I enjoyed my stay and it made my fishing trip much more comfortable! read more

Wonderful Family Owned & Operated motel. The servers in the restaurant are delightful and very welcoming. Beware that the 'single scoop' of ice cream is like a pint so be prepared to share. Some of the employees were kind enough to show us the project they are working on.. two HUGE luxurious cabins that sleep i think 16+. I've attached those sneak peek pictures! The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because the 'housekeeping' in the rooms is not good, even for a rugged mountain motel. (pictures attached) and because we rented a pontoon at the marina and they did not go over any safety features like how to use the radio in an emergency (there is no cell service) or where a fire extinguisher was. Overall, Bowery Haven is amazing because of the people who work there and we will continue to make the annual trip. read more

This was a great stop. Had a burger and onion rings with a giant Diet Dr. Pepper. So nice sitting outside under the trees. They had so many souvenirs to choose from too. The other items didn't call my attention, I wanted food and the souvenirs just jump out at you. We grabbed a pamphlet so know the prices to stay there some time in the future. read more

Great location on a great fishing lake! The staff were very polite and friendly. They accommodated us for two nights in the RV park despite not having a prior reservation, but we did have to move to a second site in order to get tow nights. This was not an issue until we actually started to set up for the first night. The design of this RV Park is everything wrong you can throw into a design. The sites were both pull thru sites. Now almost every travel trailer or RV has electrical and water hookups either in the center of the trailer/coach or in the back of the trailer/coach and always on the drivers side. Sewer hookups are generally in the center of the travel trailer and RV. As we pull into our site, the sewer is located first in the first quarter of the site. The water and electric are located all the way to the front of the site even with the front of the trailer tongue. We spent ten minutes figuring out how we could possibly hook up Water, Electric, and Sewer at the same time. We would need two full length shore power cords, to 25 foot water hoses, and 30 feet of sewer hoses. We have had our trailer for 22 years and the supplied 25 ft power cord, 25 ft water hose, and 20 feet of sewer has always met the needs of a full hook-up RV park. We ended up going down to the end of the RV park and come back in with our passenger side facing the hookups in order to hook up the water and electric. The sewer would still require 30 feet and have to be laid out to go under the trailer from the opposite side. So we ended up not hooking up sewer. The next day it was time to move to the next site, which was exactly the same problem. Almost every site in the park has the same misconfiguration and others setting up were just as confused as we were. After packing up the trailer, we headed down to the end of the park and came back thru the site in the opposite direction to stop and dump the tanks. We moved to the new site and had to hook up the same way and wait until leaving the following day to dump the tanks. Despite all that inconvenience, we had a half-day boat rental reserved to take our 3 grandkids out fishing. The marina staff were great and made sure we all had proper safety gear and they had all the non-resident fishing licenses on hand for us. We all caught trout that day and got some great memory photos. Word to the wise, never hire a college educated engineer to design an RV Park unless they have actually owned an RV and been to an RV park. In addition to the problems described here, engineers are known to put tables, fire pits, and BBQs on the side of a campsite opposite the RV doors, which are always on the passenger side. read more

I grew up spending weekends here every summer. I'm now in my 30s and still go to Fish Lake. Although Bowery Haven has changed hands several times over the years, after meeting the new owners the weekend, I can honestly say they have made some awesome changes! They really want you to enjoy your stay and have made some great updates to the RV park. You should definitely stay, eat and rent boats from Bowery! read more

Our family reserved a pontoon boat for a full day here in July 2022 several months prior to the rental date along with a FISH FINDER. Upon our arrival in the early morning the marina guy said unfortunately the FISH FINDER rod below the boat was previously damaged and inoperable. We then requested a different boat and the guy told us the only other boats currently available with FISH FINDERS were 2 feet larger and he said he would have to charge us $100 MORE! We declined because that was ridiculous since we already paid over $350. Then he said the best he could due was to exchange our boat for another one (same size) that was due back in at noon. We agreed and returned to the marina to exchange the boats at noon. Upon arrival the marina guy said he made a mistake and the fish finder on the other boat was broken as well. We asked again if he could upgrade to the slightly larger boat for the afternoon (three larger boats were just sitting at their dock unused for the day) because of this ordeal and he declined because his boss doesn't typically allow him to do exchanges or upgrades. I requested he speak to his boss and he immediately replied, "He's out fishing today and I can't reach him." We were very disappointed because that was the main reason we rented the boat from Bowery Haven. Otherwise we would have rented it from a closer marina location at Fish Lake Lodge 2 miles down the lake right next to our campsite. He should have upgraded us to the slightly larger boat at no additional cost due to the inconvenience, it would not have cost them any more money because the larger boats were just sitting there unused anyway. They could have at least notified us BEFORE the day of the rental. This was very poor customer service and we felt they used a bait and switch ploy to rent out their damaged boats. We will not go to Bowery Haven Resort again! read more

Stayed in RV for a few days. We have been here a few times. Restaurant was good, campground was clean and spots are large. We rented a pontoon boat for the day and caught lots of fish. Kids had a great time Only 30 amp spots and usually a full campground Area has poor cell service if any at all, so bring the kids and they can't play on their phones.... ha ha read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night on our road trip from Colorado to California. The entire experience was one to remember for a life time & if I ever find myself in Richfield, I'd love to stay here again! They have a restaurant walking distance from the cabins that we ate breakfast and dinner at and were very pleased with both! They also have ice cream and waffle cones available in their convenient store & it was a nice treat (: All of the cabins are picture perfect.. especially on the outside. I'm not giving it a five star review because i think the interior of the cabins can be more updated. There's a few things that I found to be positives that some may not. First of all, you get no service on your cell phone which i think is nice when you're at a place as beautiful as this. Second, it's a very long drive through the mountains to get here but the views were with us the entire trip so I definitely enjoyed it! Oh and minus a star for not catching any fish the 24 hours we were there :( lol read more

We planned for several months to take our grandsons here for four days of relaxation, fishing, and fun. The lake is beautiful as always but that is where the fun ended. We knew this place was pricey but thought it may be worth it. Not so. We rented one of the duplexes to accommodate all 5 of us. The room was okay but the beds were very uncomfortable, only to be beat out by the hard chairs and sofa, which was filthy. We rented a boat for fishing for two of our four days. Fishing was lousy but, of course, not the resort's fault. However, the unfriendly attendant didn't make anything better. On top of all of this, the worst part was when we had to leave due to one our grandkids falling ill after the second of four nights and only one day of boat rental. I knew we couldn't expect any refund, but after spending nearly $1700 for four nights, boat rental, etc., I thought I could possibly get one of the two nights we missed refunded. Nope! Actually, flatly no. The coup de grace was asking for a cup of coffee since we didn't have time to fix any in the room that morning. I got the coffee and a "that will be $2.73". I guess I thought they may have had some sympathy with the situation and at least offer a complimentary cup of coffee. However, their greed to get every last possible dollar has obviously taken over any thought of compassion. We'll find someplace friendlier and more accommodating for our next outing. read more

This review is for the restaurant only. My wife and I drove specifically to try the restaurant as so many people we've talked to recommended it. Huge disappointment, unless you judge how many stars by how much is on the plate. Plenty of food, but the quality of the meal was lacking. We arrived late, so the place was almost empty. I ordered ham and eggs, over medium, with sourdough toast and hash browns. The ham was thick and far larger than the 6 ounces promised on the menu. But it was cheap and flavored artificially. One egg yolk was broken and the whites weren't fully cooked. The sourdough was chewy like a good sourdough should be, but the "sour" was chemical, not real. If there was butter on the toast I missed it, because I had to ask for some. The hash browns were almost warm, not cooked enough to call them done. The best part of my meal was the butter. My wife's meal was similarly disappointing other than the mushroom, bacon, spinach omelet was good. Bear in mind that we've only eaten there once, and will probably try again with lunch or dinner hoping for a better meal. Oh, the waitress was nice. Her tip reflected her service and not the quality of the food. read more

We were trying to get away from any early heat spell the end of May so we headed up as high as we could. We were told there was lodging up on the lake so we stopped at the Fish Lake lodge and rented a "rustic" cabin sight unseen. It was getting late and they were not serving meals so we headed to the Bowery Restaurant a few miles further east. The food and service was excellent. We then noticed they had lodging, cabins and a motel. We asked to see a room in the motel and they were very large with knotty pine interiors. We went back to our rustic cabin and was shocked at the run down, 1920s migrant looking accommodation. We went back to the office asking to get a refund and was told no refund. We spent the night at the Bowery and had a great breakfast there too. We never encountered any negative vibes from the help or manager, even though we had four large dogs. They are dog friendly as long as they are well behaved and you pickup after them. I left my hat in the restaurant and the manager walked over to our room to return it, how's that for courtesy. read more

My family's recent trip to Fish Lake was an amazing vacation with the exception of one mannerless, mean, disrespectful manager. This lady blew my mind multiple times. To begin with, my family obtained a gift-certificate by making a donation to Primary Children's Hospital 'Festival of Trees Fundraiser'- this certificate was good for two nights lodging and dinner. Upon our arrival one day early (we wanted to camp a night) we thought it would be okay to use the dinner portion of our gift-certificate, however this was not alright with Sue Bates- she claimed that "this would be too difficult to keep straight", and that "it is not her responsibility to fulfill the certificate at this time." When we did check in the next day I thought she would attempt to make things right by at least being nice...NOPE, she was colder than ever. Basically it felt like she was dragging her feet in honoring the certificate that she had PERSONALLY signed. Furthermore, I am in no way a clean freak but WTF, these rooms were disgusting and she posts all sorts of rude signs stating that we need to clean up everything ourselves- including the dog s***. Also, finding a huge black widow on top of my pillow was somewhat discomforting. All in all, Sue Bates is the worst manager ever and I will be taking my business to Fish Lake Lodge where they treated me with utmost kindness and respect at every turn. read more
