They're known for their signature hand stretched taffy. They have around 18 flavors! Sold in 3 sizes. 1/4 lb $3.25, 1/2 lb $6.50, and 1lb $13. But they aren't a one trick pony. They also sell home made.. fudge (in Over 6 flavors) , cinnamon rolls, caramel apples, cotton candy, peanut brittle , chocolates (8 varieties); and hard candy, lollipops, soft serve and a full coffee menu. The taffy keeps me coming back. The taffy has a melt in your mouth creaminess after the first chew. Nice balanced caramelized sugar and butter base. But on hot or super cold days, the taffy can get that sticky stretch. Ok now to the ordering protocol. There are two walkup windows, two separate lines. The day I dropped in, folks were making up lines. Line cutting, very chaotic. And near customer taffy raging. Like these folks need more sugar. The cashier was in a bit of a frazzled mood. Not grumpy but exhausted. I really can't blame her. The crowd was ruff and unruly. Demanding. But she continued to provide on point customer and kept the kind moving. Kudus to her for her customer service skills.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and it's nice to support a local business. The shop is right next to a huge parking lot, so it should be easy to find a spot nearby.

Same great beef jerky from familiar flavors to the more exotic meats. Over the years the staff has been great; welcoming, engaging, and helpful. To name a few jerky options they have .... beef, shark, alligator, ostrich, rabbit, turkey, duck, trout, tuna, salmon, python, elk, boar, boar, buffalo, and kangaroo. I know some of you are intrigued while others are perplexing out.I usually stick to the beef. But I have ventured and bought shark, alligator, and buffalo before. Pliable, softer but not mushy, tasty jerky. Made without MSG, preservatives, or nitrates so alot healthier. Family recipes. They sell in a variety of sizes/pricing and flavors such as black pepper, teriyaki, srirachi, and habanero. Mmm. They also sell novelty candy including chocolate bacon, hot sauces, cold case drinks, snacks, and small gifts (plushies, stickers, cards, etc). The chocolate bacon is one of my go to buys because it's less than $5 and come on... it's chocolate AND bacon, nuff said. The actual shop is in the small shopping plaza on the street side of the three stacks and maritime museum which by the way the museum has outdoor displays and small museum (all free and accept donations). The jerky shop has free parking in a lot with plenty of spaces. Can't stop in the shop in person? Check out their website for their online shop.

I wish I had asked names, so that I could shout them out! One woman, light brown/blonde hair, seemed to be in training, and she was very helpful, the young man helping her, and who also helped my fiancé choose a lobster he has blonde hair, so very helpful! We are out of towners, but will be back! **went back! Fiancé could not stay away from the fresh/live lobster! The names I want to SHOUT OUT are Justin, and Heidi! They are kind and helpful! There was also parking right in front, with no line, which was convenient. I wanted something fried, but when I saw that they use canola oil, I decided to go with the salmon tacos instead. Salmon isn't exactly a local fish, but it's usually a safe bet, especially when it's fresh frozen. I got the salmon tacos, which came as two tacos on two tortillas. The salmon was topped with a little cabbage and tomato, melted cheese, and what seemed to be some onion and cilantro. They also included a small serving of salsa. Overall, they were decent, but not the best salmon tacos I've had. One thing that was a little annoying was that some of the salmon had the dark "bloodline" still attached. I usually scrape that off because I find that part of the fish more bitter and strongly flavored. That's especially awkward with tacos because you're trying to remove it from pieces of fish that are already in the taco. I've had salmon tacos elsewhere where that part had been trimmed off, so there was nothing to deal with. No bones, though. The tacos were a little pricey at just over $20 with tax, but you're in a tourist area and it's California, so that wasn't exactly surprising. They made for a decent meal, and sitting outside was pleasant.
