He let me try a few options and gave recommendations based on what I was in the mood for. He seemed very knowledgeable and I really enjoyed the tiramisu ice cream the most. It is on the pricey side. Honestly, I wish I could say I love this place because the decoration and everything in the variety is great but then, it was just kind of expensive we were hoping for like a sweet treat before we got back on the train to go home Like the person serving was I think chill, I just wanted to walk around the store, but like when I was trying to walk in, I saw her cleaning the door and. A sweet shop should be a fun, welcoming place for a family to come into. Instead, this place had a sour-looking, distant lady behind the counter who didn't even acknowledge us when my family entered. My kids even greeted her, and she didn't even smile at them. After looking around, we determined that most of what they offered was varied, but also very expensive. But we bit the bullet so as to not disappoint our kids and ordered some of their overpriced gelato ($9 for a single scoop) which sadly was not even that tasty. Again, the variety was impressive, and we really loved the giant ice cream cone statue in front and the mini-theatre playing Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory... but it just wasn't as fun an atmosphere as we thought it would bet. Again, it would have been nice if I had had the time to look around. What drew me into the shop was the outside appearance, and once I got in, there were loads to choose from, even chips. I think you need to come in to experience it yourself. Oh, it was cool to see that they serve ice cream!I occasionally pass by this confectionary store and tell myself that I will visit it the next time I am in the area. Today, I finally decided to enter the establishment. Unfortunately, I was limited on time, but the chocolates appeared intriguing. The sales associate was slightly occupied but still took the time to assist me in selecting truffles. The highest prices for candy I've ever seen. My brother bought a few zots and a handful of jelly beans and it was THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS

We wanted some M&M's for our movie night so popped in here because we were already downtown. The three of us were the only customers and the proprietor was not at all friendly. Never acknowledged us. Got a a small bag of regular M&M's and a couple dozen peanut M&M's out of the bulk chute. Had to go tell the woman working there I was ready to check out. She rang me up and it came to $23.80! I was stunned silent...mind trying to figure out four dollars per quarter pound, etc. Paid and kept doing the math as I left. I didn't go back to question it, but I absolutely know I didn't have a pound and half of candy. I won't go back. Save your money and walk down the street to the other candy store. My child and I discovered this place after participating in The bunny trail last night. We normally go to the candy store that is a half a block away but I decided to go to this one instead since they supported the local event. My child picked out for small candies and I was shocked at the register that it was over $30 especially since some of the candies she got were very small (like a single packet of fun dip but apparently cost 4.99 and a small box of boton rice candy that we normally get at the grocery store for less than a dollar a box that was $5.99) and if the other candy store we usually get a whole bag of candy for around $30. The biggest shocker was the single tube of slime licker candy apparently was $15.99. Just had a curiosity we walked down the street to the other candy store and looked and the same exact slime liquor candy was $5.99. I am all for supporting small business and local but we definitely will not be returning. read more

If you like nostalgia - this is your place. The ice cream was good - creamy and delicious! The girl behind the counter was super friendly, even to me and my wife, and that's saying a lot cause she was definitely hitting on three young teenage boys who came in from out of town - it was like I was reliving a season of Laguna beach! I was so shocked that the small-ish bags of candy (Jelly Bellies, m&ms, and candy rocks) that I purchased for my daughter's birthday party cost $65!!! Cute title candy shop in downtown San Luis Obispo. The gal behind the counter could use a smile on her face and more friendly attitude. I'd also say I was a bit disappointed when I opened my bag of Jordan Almonds to find a mix of almonds. Some were chocolate covered, some wet chocolate covered with a candy coating and some were actual Jordan almonds. Someone didn't care enough when they filled the dispenser and just mixed a variety of almonds in the Jordan Almonds dispenser. Dropped in here during Farmer's Market yesterday. Grabbed a few items and left, not paying attention to prices at the time. When we got home we busted out the goodies and saw that the bag of licorice was marked $9.99, the sour strings were $8.99, and an Abazaba was $5 WTF!!!??? Skip this place and head to the dollar store where you can purchase most of this candy for a fraction of the price! My child and I got to single regular cup, the lady, I'm sure is the owner because she scoop the ice cream just same same size of scooper, and she went out to second but a petty scrape by, the ice cream were so so small but cost $8 each! They have a lot of retro candy, odd candy, Wonka candy, a great selection of Pez candy and dispensers, movie theater candy and multi-colored M&Ms. They also serve gelato. The original Willy Wonka movie is constantly playing in the rear of the store with several movie theater seats set up so you can sit and watch and then buy enough candy to transform into an Oompa Loompa. This shop has a distinct delicious smell when you walk in. Their gelato is A1 and they make sure to stuff the cup completely so you're getting all you can get! Complimentary chocolate wafer stick included. They're always/only playing Willy Wonka which is super cute. We thought we were going into a store that used to be in SLO, but is apparently now gone. Since we were already there we decided to walk around and check it out. The young lady working behind the counter welcomed us and offered to let us sample any of the gelatos. She did the same for the other small group who walked in after us. She was helpful and polite, which we greatly appreciated. The reason for only three stars? The prices! OMG!
